It's just me or anyone else got worried about graphics in F1 2015 after watching some videos of Dirt Rallye? For sure the game looks to be fun..but the graphics are really outdated.Does anyone knows if the new Dirt is a current-gen game yet? Since they took some features out to build a new game, I really expect a mind blowing graphics for F12015...

I think Dirt rally was built on the old engine not 100% sure on this but I think I read it somewhere  so may not have any bearing. We'll have to see though.

  2. Anyone looking for a good new gen pool/snooker game for the XB1 should check out poolnation FX it's a pretty good little game Had a go at it last night and had some good fun.

Too late to change their mind now. At best they might be able to bolt on a half-hearted mode as DLC later, but it should be pretty much a wrap for release at this point.
Isn't that what career mode was for the majority of the CM F1 games? It had no atmosphere, just like GP mode with all the tracks in order and a points table. You basically turned up, raced and then on to the next track... Wouldn't be hard to implement at all.

Even something like that is enough to justify a purchase personally.
yeah certainly in the latter ones it felt a bit bolted on but at least there was one which I think is the main point here. Yes it may have been limited but at least it was there for those that enjoyed an extensive moed where you could create your own story. Obviously it goes to show what an achievement F1 2010 was it's just a shame CM haven't been able to keep those standards up.

But at least pcars is going to give league racers and organisers way more options to use for online than any of the f1 titles have.
Yes I know codies haven't given any info on online yet, but my guess is it certainly won't be as in depth as pcars.
Yeah I think PCars in general has moer options in both single and multi player that's what's pretty much being said here

I'm not o:) But then I've had the game for like 3 or 4 years. The only thing that lets it down (even at 1440p) is aliasing, some object don't seem to get affected when using AA, but it's not too bad. There is one setting that works for me but has quite a performance hit due to my resolution.

Also this sucks! I always thought I was a full member until I checked a few months back, which meant I couldn't invest more as funding was complete.
Well in your case yeah but then you've had access to it all along the rest of us haven't had that luxury and won't do until it's released officially.

Project cars looks great, but every video I've watched for PS4 gameplay shows poor steering controls.  If you watch the steering wheel in gameplay vids, it looks like the driver is yanking hard left and right, instead of gradual turning.  To me this is a sign of arcade controls.  I really hope I'm wrong though since everything else I've seen looks great.

they may have been using the controller or not configured it well enough but I guess we'll have to wait and see

Yeah I might struggle but that doesn't mean I can't have fun with it but it depends on how the bottom levels perform are like as  usually I play at that level. I have played the colin Mcrae games and that without too many problems so we'll see. Besides like Hughesy sometimes I enjoy a challenge

Edit decided to try and take it on after giving it a few moments thought. Got it downloading now

Haha thought you might, it's going to be hard but I'm sure you'll still enjoy it bud. :) can't remember which rally game it was, but it might've been a McRae game and I managed ok with a keyboard. I'd do custom races first mate and start with the 60s Mini. So far I've found the easiest stages are the Greek ones. The Welsh stages are the hardest but also my favourites. Can't wait for more content to be added, especially Hill Climbs.

When you do career you have to then buy a car, after that you need to hire an engineer (you already start with a crew chief) I went with the best I could afford. The longer you keep the chief the better he gets. With engineers you'll notice you hire them for a certain time frame, at the moment mine has 26 stages left at which point I can extend the contract or hire a new one. You can have more than one but it costs a lot to unlock. Hope you enjoy it mate :)

yeah at least it's one step up on the new F1 game in that it's got a career mode. Besides I've ended upsieddown in ditches before so it's no biggie in these games.  I also normally get a few practice runs in before racing proper anyway so I'll be prepared before I take the career on. Still downloading atm got about another 25mins on the clock. Will do a couple of runs on it tonight to get a good feel I hope.

Had a g oat it now and did 3 stages of the greek one and finished 9th. I think so far for my first go that's good seeing I don't know the tracks that well. Fills me with hope I can improve though once I get to grips with it all  though

  9. We will, but the more I heard about this game the more I think of just buying project cars :) and alot of people seem to have the same opinion
Yeah same here the more I've heard about both games the more I'm convinced I'm right to vote in favour of PCars and skip F1 2015 and buy the latter later maybe at bargain bin prices for £10 or something. I think I'd have got P cars either way but the fact career mode has been ditched has killed off any enthusiasm I might have had for getting F1 2015

Ill need to play with my wheel settings a bit more, but overall its a really good game. Very challenging. Once they give us more Road feel then I'll improve the game a lot.

Only issues I have is the automatic wipers and the countdown when you go off the road. Its strange not being able to lean on fences like in previous grid games.
Yea it's a proper challenge, I've been waiting for a rally sim since RBR which I still play. Did take me a long time to get my wheel settings set to what I like. Just uploading a stage from Wales which I finished .022 behind 1st, and it's very obvious where I lost it. Almost had a huge moment where I went nearly 90deg on a straight, but managed to save it without losing too much. Setup plays a key role I have found. For me I need a lot of rear brakes with the 60s MINI and open diff so I can slide.

The wipers don't bother me too much, but it can be hard to stay on track if you go off line and yea the countdown is annoying.

I love the no OSD settings, as it means I have to push right to the end with not knowing if I'm quick or slow. When they add hill climbs I'm going to be very happy. At this moment there's only three locations, but each rally is pretty long compared to previous Dirt games. This isn't a game for people who aren't rally sim fans, as it can be pretty hardcore. Dirt 3 was very easy with very wide stages.

Have you noticed that the exe is called Dirt 4? I wonder if they will change the name to that or keep the rally name. I'd prefer it to stay as it is, as its nothing like the other Dirt games.
yeah I haven't got this yet but I was never any good at the Richard Burns one. I may get this at some point it's just not my priority atm.
Are you on a wheel or the controller ?

I have found this game quite hard, but definitely do-able on the controller, even if I turn off the assists such as traction control. Of course if you go straight for the Group B's and go hurtling through a forest in the middle of the night when it's raining then you are going to have a fight on your hands. And there are no flashbacks. I spent the whole of last night trying to master the first wales stage in a group B. It's pretty unforgiving, but quite satisfying when you get it right. Felt a real sense of achievement when I got the mini under 4 minutes !

    great video hughesy.
Was this question aimed at @Hughesy or me?  I think he uses a wheel when he races in my case I use the keyboard but that's the peripheral that works best for me when playing racing games. I know a lot of people say get a wheel or use a controller but it just doesn't seem to work for me as I have tried it. With my disability I just find it best to just stick with what works

Is Pro Season actually limited in difficulty to only Legend?

Pro Season seems like it could honestly be one of the worst and most pointless game modes ever created.
one would think so given it's supposed to be full on sim. However I'm not sure we'll get an answer t that until the game comes out.
Well if the cars handle the same as championship mode with the assists off then this mode is completly useless. The point is we have always been able to turn all the assists off and go on the hardest AI if we wanted. Why they can let the player have the full race weekend and decide what assists the want I don't know. Just add the 3 practise sessions to championship mode then there can't be complain!
I agree but by the way that @Britpoint and @justbiglee have been talking maybe 2015 is configured differently than the earlier ones. Dosen't change my opinion of the game I'm just speculating that maybe it is. I suspect though as I said we'll only know for sure when the game comes out

  13. Seems so.
Na I agree career mode needs to be restored on single player first but I'm saying it's easy to do a multiplayer career to improve on the co op championship they have too? I believe its been mis interprted what people wanted we want a broadcast feel with real faces etc but with our own person not the AI? But do you guys agree with the concept of my idea or am I being far feteched do you think?
For the moment it's a little far fetchedas I think C|M have to get the main game sorted first once it has though then maybe it can happen but it's probably something thaqt for me they'#ll  need to look at in maybe 2/3 years time once they've got 2015 and assuming they keep the license 2016(complete with Career mode I hope) out of the way first

Here's my video, this wasn't a career race, and I think the ai crashed which is why they finished so far behind. In my first career race I finisehd 3rd, 22 seconds behind 1st. Anyway hope you enjoy, it's 1080p 60fps on YouTube, so watch it on there rather than using the forum as it doesn't play it at 1080p

Edit: For some reason it wouldn't play at 60fps using Chrome, but it would play at 1080p. When using IE it plays at 60fps but only lets me select 720p lol..

    1.  Most sims don't have 100s of cars, as they focus on making each car and class as realistic as possible unlike say Forza and GT which are driving sims not racing. I find myself using the same car for hours, and each car feels completely different including the FFB. There is going to be DLC though every month as has been posted here, you also get a free car each month I think.
    2. The ai are awesome doing normal races, but in career mode they start off really slow which is bloody annoying me. I'm hoping the add an option to turn the crappy scaling off, as it makes the lower formulas pointless. The lower tier open wheel cars are awesome to drive, but in career it's boring due to what I just said.  :)
I know what its aimed at being and why there aren't a massive amount of cars, but with it being started like 5 years ago its still a little disappointing. As I said though the range of car types is fantastic, and the DLC should make that even better.

I'm glad there is a reason that the AI seem a little easy in career mode. In a way I quite like the idea of it getting more difficult as career goes on, although in reality I didn't like it on Forza 4. It was confusing me why I was watching some races in career where the player would win by miles, some in career where they would struggle and others in different game modes where they would be miles behind on the same car/track combo running similar times.

I'm still worried about the lap time simming problems though with the AI

As am I tbh as it'll make it easier tofind a level that I enjoy racing at although I do hope I can get comfortable and reasonably competitive at a level in all the cars. I can understand what @Hughesy is saying though it should be up to us to adjust it manually if we want to  with an on/off switch for tweaking things how those that play at the top end want things.

I'm not an experienced sim plasyer or the quickest of drivers so it being a little easier in the lower formulas will definitely suit me I think. I can definitely understand @Hughesy's concerns though

  16. funny how the announcing F1 2015 thread has been taken over by the enthusiasm for project cars on the official codies forum, says a lot!
What's even stranger ids that everyone's talking about it in here instead of in the thread in the off topic section where the actual thread topic is

  17. Well we need single player career restored first before we worry about creating an online version of it I think
That's a valid point but what if they just simply merged this years career mode and make it online for this year anyways i.e you start with Verstappen and Ill be Sainz and we make our way up online together? But i completely agree they need to bring back the custom career  for single player but online has more profitability for them don't you think?
I think you drastically underestimate the importance, and the number of people who play offline.

As do obviously CM I think amnd it's certainly going to hurt them when they find very little money coming in.
I don't think it's as much that they underestimate the user base, so much as they don't understand it. They put a lot into the creation of broadcast style presentation, because a lot of people wanted that and asked for it. But what they failed to realize was no one wanted it at the cost of career mode.
That too but you'd think that with the number of yearly sports games that come out all of which carry  a career mode as standard that it would be one of the last things they'd ditch guess we were wrong on that

  19. I think we need to see if Big Lee can make something happen for us this week he's obviously seen the forums and read our concerns lets see how he and CM respond to that now. Hopefully this will get them to hurry up with something not saying it will happen but let's hope it does. I think it's time for a mimi ceasefire and see what their response is.

Waste of cash. Wait for the price to go down.

There is zero creditable info on this game. Things look way to fishy.
Agreed 100% I'm not going anywhere e near it till it's at least £10. Because I'm only going to pay the same amount that CM| have put in in terms of effort which seems to me practically nothing
