4k HD Texture Pack for GRID:A

My machine is more than capable of running this HD texture pack, however I'm a little unsure of my boys rig; AMD FX 6300 @ 3.5GhzMSI HD 7870 2GB8 GB Ddr 3 1600mhzWindows 8.1 Will this run the HD update at 1080p?
  7. After thoroughly getting to grips with the game, I can honestly say that it is truly great work. The AI is sharp, the visuals are slightly improved, and the physics are a milestone improvement from GRID 2. Well done codemasters! Now onto my issue; the car customization and liveries, online clubs get to have their own custom livery to separate them from the rest of the pack. Great stuff! Except it's not, a few basic patterns on one layer, with customization colors for that pattern, custom color for the car, and a few sponsor decals. Not exactly 2014 custom, (same goes for the club badge I mentioned in an earlier post!). @Loore Please give as honest an answer as possible, is anyone in the development team working on improvements to this livery editor, or at least anything planned as yet? Like putting a custom logo onto your car would be awesome in online bouts to represent your club, this can be done with manipulating layers of shapes and things. Like many other titles have accomplished with ease. It is something that my club would love to see, and I'm sure we're not alone, that racing as a club with our 'unique' livery and logo on our cars as we fly by the opposition!

    DLC Alarm Bells!!!

The car damage and wear needs looking at. We were promised that the online features would be balanced, they clearly are not, from leader-board's and grid positions to the more game-breaking wear and damage model.  If this feature isn't made a priority to fix and fast, then I can see the entire multiplayer aspect collapsing altogether.I'll watch this space @Loore and @Codemasters

Universal Warriors // GAS RACE CLUB

Just a quick bump, and also we are now looking for Endurance racer's to help improve our Club Level XP in that area. But any discipline is welcome, heck I play them all, although I havn't got into drift yet, would like someone on PC interested in drifting to maybe join in with me as most of our crew aren't that interested in Drift events. So what are you waiting for? Become a warrior today! www.universalwarriors.net

4k HD Texture Pack for GRID:A

I'm sorry but while that 7870 card isn't nowhere near as powerfull as your setup, it's still pretty much high end. I used to play Grid 2 pretty smoothly on my old HD5770 (almost max settings). I'm always amazed by the fact that some people rave and cheer when they can play a LAST GEN game on current gen pc hardware. It would be ridiculus if it wasn't possible, not the other way around. Maybe some people just looking for an excuse to show off their pc setups (referring to your dual 7970s). Lets just say that I'm so overwhelmingly ecstaticly rejoiced that my midrange GTX780 runs this game at max settings (cough, cough). I was merely stating that a 7870 would be perfectly suitable for playing this game max with HD pack, and it's a relatively cheap card now. It is considered 'mid-range' with the the likes of 7970s and r9 290s and even the GTX counterparts. I'm a long time member of OC.net and I know a great deal of hardware standings, so believe me when I say that 7870 is now a mid-range card( doesn't technology move fast?!), I wasn't boasting at all, it's merely a helpful insight into people wondering whether or not the HD texture pack would run fine on their system. I can confirm that it probably would. Unbelievable, you're such an expert on pc hardware (and let's not forget "a long time member of OC.net") and at the same time you expect me to believe you had (in your first post) even doubts wether your son could run this game with these (which are above the official recommended specs let alone the minimum) specs: AMD FX 6300 @ 3.5GhzMSI HD 7870 2GB8 GB Ddr 3 1600mhz Now I'm even more confinced you were/are boasting. An eight year old could have told you, your son can run this game (with HD textures) easily with these specs! I'm pretty sure he was just double checking things never hurts sa I've bought games thinking they'll work in the past and never did. Fotrunately Autosport for me isn't one of those exactly, PCs are by nature not always exact in there specifications, whilst some games may have recommended specs, if you meet them it will play, it plays like crap. I can name several titles where you needed much higher than recommended specs to actually run at decent frame rates. And that was my point, being able to run at acceptable frame-rates not just running the game. Btw, the min and rec specs are for the base game, not any further dlc or texture packs, and the 4k HD textures take load on vram, the 7870 only has 2gb of which could of been the limiting factor of which i was trying to determine. Anyways, I don't wish to get into debate over whether or not you feel I was 'boasting'. (I'm flattered you think my system is boasting rights! tbh). But if you take out your comment's this thread has actually been helpful to some people no doubt. You may not see any problem with your GTX780, but there WILL be people out there with 7870 or even 7850 and may be concerned that whilst yes we know it will run but will it run smoothly as those card's are not designed to run near 4k anyway, and running such textures could of had detrimental effects on performance. It didn't, so it appears that Codemaster's did a very good job in optimizing this texture pack. :)

4k HD Texture Pack for GRID:A

I can confirm that on my system dual 7970s the hd pack runs without any real loss in performance, and even more incredible, I can confirm that my boys rig running a single hd7870 and a stock fx6300 is absolutely amazing also! Great work codies, very well optimized on even mid range cards, although it is running in 1080p on my boys machine, it still looks damn nice. But when you look at the game in 4k it's really a sight to behold, especially for such an aging engine. For the next iteration of the engine I hope to see 4k textures accross the board for even the distant scenery etc.

    GRID Autosport Feedback

Ok so I have been helping @Dinamo38 with a corrupt save file issue. I tried to re-create this issue using his information that he sent (Windows OS and specs etc), what I found was that if the game closes or crashes unexpectedly during either a load or a save sequence, it WILL corrupt the save data on Windows 8 & 8.1. What was interesting was it did not do so on Windows 7! So I investigated more, and upon examining the corrupted save file that I now had, it appeared that what had happened was that when the game closed unexpectedly, the save file was overwritten in places with 0 bytes! This was caused by the Windows SmartScreen technology within Windows 8 and 8.1. (I won't go into too much detail here as to how I know this, as it would make a rather lengthy post!) So I then proceeded to disable this SmartScreen via the services panel within Windows. I then re-created the crash scenarios and exits etc, and to very little surprise, the save files were totally intact! So there is a minor fix. @Loore maybe this needs to be worked on as many people have moved to this newer operating system, and many people will want to leave SmartScreen on. So whilst it is a small workaround, perhaps the Dev team can look into this rather annoying bug that is causing peoples careers to become corrupted. I of course can always forward my findings onto you upon request. All the best guys, BioShocker

Universal Warriors // GAS RACE CLUB

@Gaz7676 We play mainly in the evenings around 7pm GMT onwards. All members are over 18, except two are 17 but are very mature, age range from 17 to 44. It matter's not if you fast, all we want is racer's to drive clean, enjoy the game, and have fun playing with us! The in house leagues are merely just to add some competitiveness within our group, but it's all light-hearted really. @Slane As stated above, most members play around 7pm GMT onwards, myself however is on around 9.30pm GMT onwards due to work daily. So most evenings is when we play, the two younger guys might be on earlier but as most of us have work its evenings mainly!

    TEAMBEERACING

That is a quality team name! lol Maybe we could set up a friendly race between our two clubs if your up for it? (nothing too serious, just midly competitive! lol)
  18. Ok after investigating various registry key's, I can confirm that your save isn't tied to any registry key. The correct procedure is as follows; First disable Cloud sync in steam, find you game in the steam games list, then right click and select properties. Under the 'Updates' tab untick 'Enable cloud synchronization'. Once you have done this open up a windows explorer and navigate to your steam install directory, then 'userdata/255220/', in this folder you will see your listed game saves. You can then safely delete these, which will erase your career from your computer. Then start the game again and complete the first career race, then make sure the game has saved and shutdown the game. Then procede into steam and re-enable the 'Cloud Save sync'. Upon launching the game you may be prompted to then choose to overwrite local data or cloud data, please select overwrite 'Cloud data'. Then continue playing your fresh career! Hope that explains it well enough, if you prefer I could always make a Youtube Video. All the best, Bioshocker

    Well car question here.

I've answered the garage issue in another post; http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/1248/garage-space#latest, basically you start with 5 I believe and then you can purchase more slots as you XP level increases. As for my favorite cars, the BMW in Touring Class C isn't too bad, excellant handling, the caterham 300r in Open Wheel is planted well, and can take most corners fairly flat out! But it is still early days yet, so I'm still undecided. @flowaangelz makes a valid point with the fact that there is many factors involved...
  20. BioShockerUK

    Garage Space?

You start off with enough space to have one car in each discipline. From there, when your XP level increases you can then purchase extra garage slots, to a maximum of 30 I believe. If this is incorrect I'm sure @Loore can correct me ;)

    GRID Autosport Feedback

yeah I've not played the game yet so can't speak from first hand experience but I think some of it's been a little unnecessary given the short turnaround CM have had to create this game. Is that so? Grid2 was a blunder of a game. Drove nice enough but the game around it was almost non-existent. Not what was expected. Now they "fix" it and charge owners of Grid2 again AAA dollars? I find this ludicrous and wrong. I maybe buy F1 2014 but only if I get a PROPER 14-day trial demo that is unlocked. If not - no cash from me. And Grid-Autosport I will give a miss because of the above reasons. I find CM really unethical. Only topped by EA tbh. Come on guys, seriously, yes the game has flaws, but can you honestly tell me one single game that doesn't have flaws that can't be picked on release? Also, steam offered GRID 2 users who pre-ordered a discount, dirt showdown for free, and the 'new' GA for a pretty reasonable price. EA charge nearly double with no discount and no free game! I personally think CM have done an amazing job, yes there is flaws, and every feature is not to everyone's, but the game is superbly fun to play. And isn't that the point of a game in the first place. BTW I am in no way a CM fan-boy, as I personally though GRID 2 was an absolute disgrace. But to be fair, most releases are top notch in the fun category, F1, TOCA and GRID all have strong offerings. Perhaps people should stop finding flaws and dislikes, and enjoy what is already here, and maybe provide real feedback like bugs and features to be added etc. Just my ten pence worth...

LOOKING FOR A PC RACE CLUB (GRID AUTOSPORT)

feel free to join our growing community. We already have a good bunch of racer's gathering now. We do play many games, but currently a small section of our total player count is playing solely on GRID. We have a TS for mature players only, most of us are from UK, our forums are up with a new grid section, but we are working on creating something more concrete for the grid series, as our site predominately focuses on BF currently. We also try to drive clean, but touring can have it's challenges with that online! Feel free to register on our website and jump on our TS sometime, meet the guys and see how you get on, I'm sure you'll fit right in, everyone's very friendly there, and enjoy good mature gaming with mild banter. Our age range is 17 - 62. So quite a broad spectrum! lol www.universalwarriors.net all the best Bio
  25. if you have deleted files in the userdata and my docs folders and its still in game, that would suggest to me that either steam is holding files in it's directories or there is a registry key, ill look tonight when i finish work and post a solution for you guys...
