The haze in Finland is the ultimate sign that the EGO engine is currently pushed beyond its limits...
-
The thing is, you wouldn't want to throw all the work done in the last five years straight into the bin. As you wouldn't want to take the Col de Turini out of the Montecarlo route because they already used it last year
-
The game engine is really starting to show its limits now, and I really hope any future sequel (at this point it will probably be for the next generation of consoles) will benefit from a massive overhaul in its basis. Longer stages and more flexibility to allow more weather/time of day variations are really needed to make the next game feel like a huge step up and, as we move towards more powerful machines, such an improvement will be expected by most buyers...

PS4, never happened to me. Might call Optimus Prime later because I kind of want to try that bug

To be honest, I'll buy all necessary seasons to have this. It's basically what I always wanted and a Subaru Legacy I didn't know I needed so bad up until NOW. SCOTLAND THO 😍
-
To be honest, this already looks like Citroën Racing built it out of LEGO so it shouldn't be hard...
-
If this news doesn't live up to the expectations we're creating here, the hype train will crash harder than Hirvonen in Finland...

In Italy the super-hyper-mega deluxe edition with the base game and all the Seasons costs 15€ LESS than the Year One pass I'd need to have all the Seasons. Basically, I'd spend less if I was to buy the whole game AGAIN. It feels like the publishers wanted more sales for the game and, realizing that DR2 with its DLCs is double the cost of the base game and is therefore not very attractive for newcomers, decided to solve the issue by selling out the complete edition. In the meantime, all those that actually bought the game earlier won't get any offer so that they'll have to pay the full price for the DLCs and give some more money to the publishers

I bought the base game without any DLC for 30€. Now the Super Deluxe edition is on sale at €34.99 and it includes all the content released yet. To match that I'd need to buy the Year One pass, which is very much NOT on sale at 49.99€. All the sales are on the base game + DLC and those that actually bought the game earlier are at a clear disadvantage now...

Yup, same situation here. And we have about the same distance from the top of the leaderboards too. I guess practicing more would get us both a lot higher but well... I don't have the time for all of this. I just try to enjoy the game as much as I can, and it's so good I'd have a hard time not enjoying it

Which is exactly why I always used the Ford Focus 2001 in DR1: I may as well be 40 seconds off the pace, but who cares when I get to the end of the stage with a stupidly big grin on my face?

"When rallying created road cars icons" Never were truer words spoken about that era of the Rally Championship.
-
A McRae themed DLC pack seems like something I would totally get hyped for if you ask me😂 I mean, if it has the Subaru Legacy and/or the Xsara AND NECESSARILY the Impreza WRC S5 from '97... (another rally location would be sweeeeeet, maybe the Safari since Colin won it many times in his career)
-
If I was to say what this means I'd say: The title is clearly gold, so maybe they'll release a "gold" or "GOTY" edition with all DLCs already in. Which would me meh for me. OR, we could look at the fact it's a gold/yellow logo on a blue background and wonder where in rallying have we already seen that color palette...

Well well well

No offense @PJTierney, you're a very good social media manager, but I'm more interested in knowing what the guys who give the money for licensing will or will NOT do.😅 That being said, I hope you already know an entire new DLC season is coming and you're just happily messing with us... The new Porsche Taycan has an 'Electric Sport Sound' and it actually sounds like something. I don't know exactly what, but it's actually nice. Not as much as a 911 but it's the best an electric car has ever sounded in my opinion
-
You were supposed to destroy the WRC games, not join them! Bring balance to the driving sims, not leave it in arcade popcorn! Just joking, I've heard that game is actually not bad at all
-
As some time has passed from the first DiRT Rally, it would be even nicer to have a weird version of the Polo, totally on steroids (an increase of power from 320 to 380 HP) and with a more aggressive aero. Something like this prototype from VW that dates back a few years, which was weirdly never homologated...

I was thinking of using that achievement as practice for my driving licence exam. I mean, that is probably the closest thing I can find to my car in the game. Or more likely, to how my sofa would handle if it had wheels.
-
Might fire up DR1 again to check if, with the help of moon gravity, I can fly high enough to see the curvature of the Earth. Seems like the most scientifical thing to do
-
In other news, the current Dailies allow non-DLC owners to try Finland in a H2 RWD vehicle. Needless to say, the achievement "Finnesse: roll your car over and continue in Finland" was achieved within the first shakedown run
-
That was rather more interesting than I thought it would be, but the biggest question still remains unanswered: Are Finnish drivers then allowed to properly execute a Scandinavian Flick?

A four headlights version was used by Ari Vatanen as a privateer in 1977. The works team used a two headlights version that same year, so I don't know where the difference comes from

Yeah, I find it annoying that the very special road cars are usually based on the biggers models, compared to the WRCars. I mean, it's great that there is a Focus RS, but I'd love to see what the Fiesta RS would look like. And I'd also love to see those bigger cars in the WRC, but because of the dimensions it's not gonna happen...
-
It's those kind of details that make me love this sport. How rally cars manage to run so low on tarmac and take all those cuts/crests/jumps without breaking down to pieces never ceases to amaze me.
