Aw, man, I've been waiting for such a thing for SOOO long... I finally have a full-blown excuse for sliding down a mountain right towards Terminal Damage!
-
Who doesn't? And that's where the open area would come into play, because trying to get that HUUGE slide in a stage surrounded by trees is most likely not going to end up well... At least in my experience
-
The game would just grow tired of you breaking the random button and allow you to play Sweden already. If this was CMR2 it would probably work...
-
I get that DR2 is not nearly as bad as people say, but there's the fact that the game doesn't seem to sell as well as its predecessor. I get that people shouldn't be so critical, but they are the ones who decide where the money goes, it's up to Codies to make them want to spend in the game...

Being an Italian in this forum has never been this much fun, I'm telling you. This is even better than talking about Lancias
-
If I remember correctly, there was a problem in DR1 with Thrustmaster wheels that had almost no force feedback in some cases, while in other cases it worked just fine. If this issue is similar, it's possible not everyone is able to experience the same FFB. Besides, we all should be able to set FFB to our likings, not being tied to decisions made by the developers
-
Well that could help widen the road. If it doesn't double it... Starting 150th in Argentina on the second pass, you'd be better off in a Dakar car
-
That looks very familiar... I know, but we have to accept not everyone is keeping in touch with everything happening on the Forums, so they might go with previous experience to judge. What is the most recent experience? DiRT 4's support. Which we can all agree wasn't exactly great. It's also up to Codies to prove them wrong and show a new attitude regarding post-launch. DiRT Rally 2.0 needs it and it's the right time to show it
-
They'd have a hard time running the entire rally inside the Principality too...

In the latest WRC games (7 and now 😎 it feels almost like the suspension is too stiff and unforgiving. Real WRCars have otherworldly suspension systems and they can absorb bumps incredibly well, keeping the ride mostly in asset. At the same time, because they're softer, they need a lot of balancing under braking and they're very predictable and 'easy' to keep in a slide. In WRC8 the cars still feel to rigid and sharp in the corners, there isn't as much room to play around with. This is mostly noticeable at medium speeds in my opinion

That reminds me of what Markku Alén once said: "Se gommo tiene, io vince gara! Se gommo non tiene, io come bomba dentro montagna..." Which translates to: "If tire holds, I win race! If tire does not hold, I like bomb into mountain..." Gotta love the mentality, Maximum Attack. Always.

That was one of the best features in D4. It gave you the opportunity to run any stage at any time and possibly create weather scenarios on the different legs. Is that not the case anymore?
-
Chances are, if the car in the game is not an actual WRCar but something very similar, it will be easier to licence and will get Codies less trouble with the WRC promoter. So the devs are probably looking for these kind of cars when they look for a new model

She's been there for 21 months. It must have been fun the first time she talked about a certain Japanese manufacturer. "Oh, here we call it He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named." Apart from this, great job, the licences do look nice this time around 👍

Tyre choice would be very nice indeed. With longer legs and well-mixed stages there would be something to play with, even though the road would always be the same. If you had stages from the bottom of the Col, then one at the top and then the long one all with the same tyres this could be interesting. Hopefully with slicks, wets, winters and studded

It has that distinct DiRT Rally feel, but the lighting and track surface make the whole picture a lot better. I think they improved trackside models too, hope this includes snowbanks
-
I'm hoping @urgaffel finally opened his pizzeria take-away in the town in Spain. With additional delivery service with a Lancia Delta S4. The exhaust will surely keep the pizza warm...
-
Given that it's supposed to run with her classmates, I'd like to throw some wild speculation around regarding the car in the back... I'm probably seeing what I want to see, but is that a Ford Focus?
-
The rear diffuser isn't particularly small either... I think the Fiesta WRC used to run a smaller one! Sounds good. Let's see what comes out of it (306 Maxi plz)

That's what I meant. I remember once sliding in pendulum all the corners of Montalegre all the way from T1 to the gravel section, simply trying to get the car back straight, just to find out once I managed to do it that I had overtook another car. In real-life RX they take a much cleaner line in general, as far as I remember
-
I remember in DiRT 4 getting absurd angles in the first section of Montalegre. Like, so absurd it's hard to believe the car actually turned the right way afterwards. I hope this is different in DR2, even though it was kinda fun to throw around the RS RX that much
-
In the end, it all comes down to what is more important in a rally game. Stage detail: best in the genre. Handling: it's DR1, but better, so the best ever basically. Graphics: well they aren't the most important thing, but they got this. That looks very good to me...
-
In DiRT 4 you could combine any weather with any time of day, is that not the case anymore?
-
I agreed with you that having career progression linked to Racenet would cause many problems, because the service isn't very stable and with the added load of all careers it could go even worse. I then added that we now have, on top of these problems that obviously emerged, no real benefit in terms of stage results in the Dailies because all sort of things are still uploaded.

Your time was THAT quick the algorithm decided to unvalidate it. If you want to contest the decision, please contact M-Sport Ltd., Dovenby Hall, Cockermouth, Cumbria, CA13 0PN since you're probably an alien coming from the same planet as Sébastien Loeb and they'll gladly offer you a seat then. Kind regards Codemasters RaceNet
