And Mike sent me an Irish passport because he's a spambot.

@Herby007 Apparently Nvidia will be announcing 3 new graphics cards this month, GTX 960, GTX 960 Ti, and GTX 965 Ti. Word is that the 960 Ti performance will be just below the GTX 780, and the 965 Ti will be just above, so hopefully one of them will fall into your £200 budget dude :)

I'm still using a HDD and will be for many years to come don't see the point going SSD when they have limited life span. But thats me mines still going strong so no need to upgrade. Limited life span? The general consensus is that and SSD will last as long as an HDD, and in most cases longer. No moving parts = Less things to go wrong. I guess it all depends on what your using it for :) Was reading earlier that if you paging files on a SSD that it will shorten it's life if not used properly. Well, the way I've read it, if you are constantly reading and writing large files on an SSD, that will shorten its lifespan to the point that a HDD is a much better option. But for general use with the average person an SSD will last easily as long as an HDD and longer too mostly.

For me it's 240gb SSD for OS and program files (160gb free atm), a 120gb SSD for games that only has FC4 on it right now, a 1TB HDD for games (about 450gb free), and 3TB more for movies, pics, and recordings.

Lol you just described my brother :p He says he's happy with his HDD and that if he got an SSD he'd only consider a 500gb one but they're too expensive. He's running a GTX 770 and an i7 4770k so his machine is pretty quick anyway, but when I tell him how quickly things go with an SSD he's just like "But my PC does that already" lol.

Ah Overclockers would be all good. No early dispatch on returns, but think of the Haribo!  If you out the cash towards a GPU, what would you be looking at?

It's phenomenal right? :D Hard to believe how much difference and SSD can make to performance!

    F1 2015 car thread

Looks like a cross between the Merc and Ferrari '14 noses. Definitely prettier than RB's '14 nose too.

How about Amazon? As long as you can get it from them directly instead of a sellers store, they're top notch for returns. Plus I'm pretty sure they advance ship any replacement too, they did when I went through 3 GTX 660's with them :p

    The PC Thread

Just hooked my PC to this chubby little thing. Been having a stupid amount of power cuts recently so with this thing, when the power goes off it gives me 15 minutes of battery power at 390W, so I can shutdown my PC properly :) Considering my PC only uses around 80W idling or web browsing, and just under 300W while playing most games, and my monitor which plugs into it too uses 35W, it should be powerful enough to handle my system and give me time to sort out my PC properly. That's right, screw you nature/power company/god (fake), ain't gonna stop me from using my PC! And the best part, it was reduced from £88 to £33 including postage :)

Lol, I think if we do it again and Ronbo isn't about, we just list the categories, nominations, and who won :p

Well, considering he's gone ho before bro's these days, we do need a replacement for him ;) No pls. I think Mike would be good for the job. Greece...India...close enough. ;) Haha, well, in distance Greece is closer to India :p Wonder if he'd like to take over the awards show? Only two stipulations, no girlfriends allowed, and no wrestling allowed.

Scott Manley is brilliant! He'll probably be more helpful than me :p  Getting to the Mun ain't too hard though, got a little system with the orbits that works for me every time :)

God damn it. Shadowplay is being stupid and not recording any audio. Just gonna upload the vid without, should still be helpful anyway hopefully.

    The Game Thread!

Right, just made a quick video with a rocket I had saved, uploading in a sec and it's basically just me blasting off, getting into an orbit, then slowing and coming back down for a landing. Pretty short, and I did make a few minor mistakes, but it should give you the first basic step of getting into space without coming back down :p  Will embed it once it's uploaded. Bugger, gonna have to quickly rerecord it, the audio didn't get caught, and you need it to know when I'm burning from map view. Won't be long dude.

    The Game Thread!

@Hughesy Have you managed to build a rocket with multiple stages that'll get you out of the atmosphere? What you need to do is get to say around 15,000 feet, dip over 45 degrees by pressing D a bunch of times, and burn in that direction for maybe 10-20 seconds (keep checking the orbit map till the tag which shows your slowest speed is out to a decent level, can't remember if it's called periapsis or apostasis or if I even spelled those correctly lol). Cut the burn and drift until you're just about to hit the tag, at which point you'll wanna aim for the horizon on the gyroscope and burn the engine again, keeping an eye on the orbit map until your orbit rings the planet smoothly, or not smoothly, long as it goes round in a rough circle you'll be ok ;) Oh also, hit T and R on the keyboard before blast off, will help you keep the ship on course.

    What was your last purchase

Not as good as the third story-wise. Pagan Min is cool, but you see him at the start and then after that... No idea, I played for hours and hours and never saw him again. Otherwise, it's ok, just a bit meh though if I'm brutally honest. Plus the PC version is beyond broken, haven't played it for about 3 weeks it's made so badly.

You need to build a log cabin or a tree house I think (I went tree house) and once complete a save logo shows up when you're inside it. You need to press 'C' on it to save.

You don't use your wheel in Assetto Corsa? Weird.. :p I've never enjoyed racing sims using a controller since first using a wheel. I'm happy with a wheel or controller :p Thing for me is that the wheel can be a pain to set up, mainly because my stand is stored under my bed along with the pedals, gearshift and cables. So when I do set it up it takes about 30 mins to do because I gotta move other stuff around to get the stand out, whereas the controller is just plugging it into a cable that lives under the desk and pulls out like 3 meters if I tug it lol. Takes about 30 seconds ;) Hopefully gonna be moving somewhere bigger just before summer this year though, so if it works out I'll end up leaving the wheel set up at all times and it'll just be a case of shifting it in front of the desk :)

    The Game Thread!

So far I've picked up: Assetto Corsa (awesome, really impressed by it, very pleased too that it has a Xbox controller preset so I don't have to set up my wheel every time) The Long Dark (frustrating but addictive and interesting survival) The Forest (cannibals are massively annoying, but it's quite fun, survival is decent) 7 Days to Die (so far feeling like I wasted my money, overpowered zombies and frustratingly hard to actually get started without being messed up by zombies, plus the graphics and gameplay are pretty sub standard) Microsoft Flight Simulator X (nothing bad to say, I think at some point we've all at least tried or seen one of the Flight Simulators so I knew it'd be difficult but fun when you master it, plus Xbox controller has a preset too so that's good!)

    The Game Thread!

Magic or not, the whole thing still just looks "uuuggh" to me :p The vast majority of these games do, and no matter what you guys say my mind won't change :p  @Hughesy The Long Dark is weird, it can be really difficult and annoying with the wolves, but it can also suck you in completely and make you think about what you need to do to stay alive, and plan ahead the next 24 in game hours lol.  So yea, difficult, but it's like playing a Telltale game (graphics) and being in the movies The Grey and Alive. Except there is no story, you just gotta survive. It's good dude, if it's still around £7 then it's worth it. Early Access game so at the moment the only mode available is Sandbox, but there is a story mode coming for it.
