Alfa Romeo Racing? Sounds like an odd team in Formula 1. I never thought Alfa Romeo would ever join Formula 1, in a million trillion years! :D

The first two F1 World Drivers Championships were won by drivers in Alfa Romeo cars.

Yeah, that's definitely a ramp. I take back what I said. I do wonder what would've happened without it, as she would've hit the car much harder, but then again, I'd bet that it was always much easier to survive that impact than the one Sophia ended up surviving today. That crash could not have gone any better, a slight tilt in this direction or that direction and it's over.
I think hitting the other car would've been preferable to going over the barrier! The cars are designed to deform on impact (excluding the survival cell of course, and car on car crashes are usually ok. In Floersch's accident she hit a pretty solid structure which brought her to a quick stop. If she hit the other car then the stop time would have been longer and safer I'm sure.

They said with Jules Bianchi's accident that if he had hit Sutil's car instead of the recovery vehicle then he would've most likely walked away from it because Sutil's car would have also started to deform (probably not the right word) after the impact.
The angle i saw she was already in the air, initially i thought she launched off another car but until you pointed out it was a kerb. Reports from the team is that she is recovering fine in hospital.
She was definitely launched higher into the air from the other car, you're right, but the kerb seemed to get her into the air first.
Other reports said she came full speed into the corner and tried to brake late.
The one I heard is Daruvala was just ahead of her and started breaking early because of a yellow light/flag which shouldn't have been there. Floersch made contact against Daruvala's right rear with her left rear which then broke off and left her out of control. There's fan video showing them touching and a puff of smoke from her tire before they went out of shot.

I agree with Matt on the sausage kerb. Stupid thing didn't really need to be there for this corner anyway. I can't see how anybody would gain time through there by cutting that part of the kerbs. What I don't get is why they don't just use a line of 5 or 6 bollards to do the job. Make them sturdy enough to damage wings and splitters, but deformable enough at the base that they end up laying flat on the ground when the car goes over them.

Well at least my birthday has ended on a good note, after a **** middle. Thanks to @RevolvingPrawn who bought me Quantum Break.

Pro tip to people, don't open your heart to a women if she asks about yourself, it'll only end in tears as it did yet again to me today like it did a few years ago.
    Hope you enjoy it bud!

I had so much fun playing it the first time (On X1) that as soon as it came out on the Windows Store for PC I bought it again and played it again, and then when it came to Steam I bought it again and played it again :D

  4. @Hughesy @RevolvingPrawn I'm shopping around for a goos aftermarket cpu cooler, can you guy recommend a good one and i'd prefer air cooling over liquid.
Pretty much anything by Noctua and you can't go wrong bud. They have a bit of a 'unique' colour scheme going on though.

Otherwise, something from Be Quiet! would be a good choice too.

    Where were you sat? Luffield?

Sorry your drive back was a nightmare. We had to wait about 30 mins to get out the car park but after that it was a decent drive back for me (along a nice fast B-road). but I only live an hour away so it wasn't too bad!
Luffield/Woodcote to start with, then down to the middle grandstand at Copse for a few races and back to Luffield after that. Copse is great for the big screen, but seeing more than just 1 corner down at Luffield and Woodcote is definitely better! Pidgley's crash in race 3 was just to the right off us.

Hughesy isn't wrong about our drive back. The worst part of it to me was the few times the car behind came flying up and then sat right on the bumper before overtaking and driving suicidally into the distance. They should have turned around and gone back to Silverstone if they wanted to race.

@RevolvingPrawn That result has surely saved Vandoorne career :joy:

Also with that cool looking green and black photo? I've looked at the options and don't see a special filters.

Do you find the ai too slow in qualifying? As I do, just put it on pole at China with a bloody Renault, but as with every other race  I'm expecting to get passed pretty fast. You can't even change difficulty during the weekend. I am going to up the difficulty for the next weekend and see how I cope.
So even though I'm still annoyed about the ridiculous results, I'm way less annoyed about the overheating tyres now. Also feeling kinda nooby too.

The solution is exactly what I said it wasn't. Just turn less lol. I was hitting nearly 110 on the front left tyre temp by lap 6 with hypers and barely making some of the corners at full lock. Tonight I did some testing, and had the hypers go 13 laps at 99-101 before feeling any drop-off, simply by never using full lock on the controller at any point. I also set a lap time 0.1 faster than my fastest lap in the actual race I did lol.

AI quali speed is difficult to answer. Yes and no. Seems to be circuit dependant. Baku I think I qualied 6th, which seemed about right. And at Monaco a was 2nd, about a tenth behind Ricciardo on pole, before he got grid pens. But at China and Spain I got pole at both by something like 6 or 7 tenths. What difficulty are you on? I'm using 94 atm, but I change it depending on how good or bad I am at the next track on the calendar lol.

Edit: That filter on photo mode is called night vision or something like that. First filter in the list you can choose is called Punchy, just keep pressing to the right and you'll find it.

  7. So I just did Monaco. What an absolute shitshow.

This happened at Baku too, but to a smaller degree. The 2 stopping AI (and me) get stuck behind 1 stopping AI and it just completely messes up the results. Also, playing on a controller at Monaco is horrific. It's fine for a few laps, but then the tyres start to overheat and there's a few corners that it completely screws you over on. On a wheel it wouldn't really be a problem, but you don't have the same capability with a controller just to turn less because you're barely making the corner anyway. I've really enjoyed every other race, but Monaco is fucked.

Will do, that's the thing that put me off PSVR, lack of games and the console itself not having enough power. That small box that comes with PSVR is solely to process audio, which seems like a mistake to me, you can't even race full grids or online using PSVR.

I mainly want VR for racing sims and games like Elite Dangerous, basically games where you are sat in a cockpit, although I will play Resident Evil 7.

No longer will I not see @RevolvingPrawn steaming down the inside of me in Pcars2 haha.
I would have preferred to get Vive, but Rift does a better job at handling dropped frames, and as I won't be upgrading my GPU for a long time as I move to consoles it was the better option, that and it was £150 cheaper.
You mean gracefully outbraking you while we both take too much care making sure we don't collide, and then both spin anyway without contact being made ;)

Wow so my home broadband has just had a DOS attack. First there was a call from someone claiming to be BT, but it became apparent it wasn't. Then I checked my router logs and could see DOS attacks. I think I've fixed it now though.

Now who did it, well I think it was a Sea Of Thieves player. As last night this guy just appeared on my boat which shouldn't happen, never attacked me or anything, I shot him and he fell off the boat. Then about 20mins later I was at a far away island getting treasure, there were no boats anyway. Whilst digging I suddenly heard the bell from my boat, he was there again and had moved my treasure but not took it, now that isn't normal in this game at all.
Google "Sea of Hackers" bud ;)

@RevolvingPrawn They are super comfortable and the ski-goggle like suspension band is adjustable. Honestly you forget they are on your head after a while!
Especially since the band helps the rest of the headset sort of float above your head. Audio is brilliant in games and music alike. I frequently listen to Spotify while gaming with them :)
Before purchasing I went to my local PC World and tried their Arctis 5’s (same thing just have wires and RGB lighting) against the Hyper Cloud II, which were also amazing but they seriously lacked in bass which is important to me.
Mic is amazing, great audio, super comfortable and wireless! I’d really recommend them, also I believe Amazon is the cheapest place to buy them.
(In case you’re wondering I’ve used them with basically everything, iOS, PC and most commonly PS4!)

    Hope that helps
Thanks @Reub09 reckon they will most likely be my next headset in that case then. It'll probably be a little while yet till I do buy them though, I kinda want to use my Corsair's till they stop working cos they were the same price as the Artic 7's and I wanna get my moneys worth :p

The 4 hour battery life I currently have does my head in though, have to charge them after every gaming sessions with Hughesy.

  11. And I just got back from seeing Solo. It was absolutely brilliant. Loved almost all of it. There was a few things that put me off, like droids being way smarter than they should be (same as Rogue One), but otherwise the whole thing was just fantastic. Speaking of Rogue One, I thought that film was one of the worst films in the Stars Wars series, and Solo has made up for it to me :)

  12. Just got back from Deadpool 2, absolutely loved it. I'd kind of agree that it wasn't as fresh as the first film (a handful of reused jokes), but I think I liked it even more than the first one. And I'm actually shocked it wasn't rated 18. When it came up as a 15 I could hear a bunch of people around me saying "It's not 18?!" I've definitely seen 18 rated movies that were tamer than DP2.

I loved RAGE, the new one does look good so hopefully it is.
It was one of those games that never got the attention it really deserved I think. I'm hoping they absolutely smash it with the new one :)

There was this one bit in the first game where you were standing on like the balcony bits of a smashed up apartment building firing rockets at this giant monster that was smashing the building trying to kill you. I've always remembered that part and how awesome it was :)

  14. Looks good dude :)

Anybody else seen the gameplay trailer for Rage 2 today? I liked the first one, and the sequel is looking like Doom + Mad Max so it's definitely on my radar!

No it was in that race, I came back on in 2nd and then was spun over and over again before the fountain ;)
It was definitely the best we've both done since we started playing it together.
Lol, should have had a penalty for unsafe rejoining :p

  16. Hughesy said:
Yeah  because I got down out a million times by the ai ;)
In most races yea, but not the one where I forgot to choose a gear ;) That was Long Beach in the GT3's, where you were leading before driving into a tire barrier :D

It was fun though, best races we've had on PCars 2 so far, and 3 wins each.

Had a fun 4 hours racing @RevolvingPrawn in Pcars2 last night. My personal highlight was when he qualified 1st and I qualified 3rd. Race started and he didn't move, as I was right behind him I had to have cat like reactions to miss him. What he'd done was  not put it into 1st, I couldn't stop giggling all the way down the straight. :joy:
Yet I still won that race ;)

  18. It's pretty bad. I signed in thinking nothing would happen to meand that maybe you just got unlucky with the game you were in, but nope.

I've set reminders in my calendar for each evening till Monday so I'll get the extra cash too. Then next time we play with Dan or Martin we'll both have some money to... burn lol.
