  1. I like it, but at the same time it's maybe a bit much. If F1 cars did end up looking like that though then I wouldn't object, it just looks fast and futuristic, which F1 should.

I saved a bunch of bookmarks a while back of closed cockpit style F1 cars, I'll just chuck em all up here now.

On my 18th I had around 20 friends with me at the sand dunes, 2 of them brought dirt bikes with em so we siphoned a bit of petrol out to start a fire pit, got very drunk, jumped over the fire pit a bunch of times, found the tallest dune and did rollie polies down it, then all took turns on the back of the 2 dirt bikes going very fast down the beach without helmets. Ended up with everybody under the pier still drinking at 6am.

That was an awesome birthday B) Kids these days don't know how to have fun!
Sand dunes are a bit difficult to find in Chester-le-Street :p
Sunderland is a 20-30 min drive away. They have a beach. And who says you have to stay in the place you live for a birthday?
    That's very true but I'm not a drinker, wherever I go ;)
Shame :p You don't have to get smashed or anything though to have fun drinking with mates. Even just a couple of beers with friends while playing games is one of the small pleasures I enjoy in life ;)

  5. I've had a couple moments like that :) Makes the game really stand out and be awesome when things happen unexpectedly and the AI surprise you!

The FOB online thing though, definitely not cool. Konami have pretty much lied in this case, they said that building an FOB was completely optional and that you wouldn't be forced to do it, but from the links you've PM'd me you do actually have to build one. I'll also be using the disconnect button in that case, I'd rather not have people invading and stealing the resources and staff I've spent my time building up. If they want that stuff, they can bloody well play the game themselves and build up from their own damn single player, not take mine.

My car is coming on well in Mad Max. Finally unlocked a black paint job, then put on red decal, same theme as my PC. :)
In terms of upgrades our cars look extremely similar :p Only difference being I've got a different hood ornament and a different engine. Plus I've only got the rust or blue and pink paint jobs haha.

  7. With all the talks from some drivers saying no to ditching Italy, do you think they all should do a couple test days around Imola before slamming it to see how great of a track it is?

90% of the drivers on the grid weren't around when the track was last on the calender. (2007 i think?)
    2006 I think ;)

I'd say Imola is a great circuit for hot lapping and seeing what an F1 car can do, just not so great for actual racing though unfortunately. I wouldn't want Imola on the calendar over Monza though, that's for sure.

  8. I will agree that the tapes aren't really all that, ditching the codec isn't great and I'm never gonna listen to the tapes. To me though it doesn't feel all that empty, there's still a fair bit going on with the map but I think comparing it directly to Mad Max or Ark it does have less. If we hadn't played both of those around the same time I don't imagine it would have been such a problem :p And they haven't ditched the story, it just seems to be a lot longer between parts of it actually happening.

Just changed my chopper music from Ride of the Valkyries to Another one bites the dust. Cos desert, dust, lol. I like the cosmetics ;) Makes it feel more like my base and my equipment.

    I have.

    Enough said......

    blablabla too short

Edit: Just to give more detail, it was a 670. First one was doa, second one of the fans didn't work and third had extreme coil wine, so I changed to an Asus 670 Directcuii.
To be fair though, Gigabyte is a good make right? Yet I went through 3 of their 660's before getting an Asus one. Just because one of their products may have been bad doesn't mean they all will ;)

  10. For me the attention to detail blows other MGS games away :p The fact you can completely customise the Diamond dogs logo, change the colour of Mother Base and your chopper, choose what music plays when your chopper picks you up or drops you off, put armour on your horse, customise all weapons (little later in the game), add your own music into the game, have to take showers to wash the blood off, and so much more! This game is overflowing with attention to detail :p

I'm just not feeling it, the location is dull and very empty. I'm regretting paying full price for it, it's the first MGS game I haven't enjoyed. One of the things that made the others fun apart from level design was a great story, now this one doesn't really have one at all. I'll still carry on playing it, but so far it's not exciting me even after 12 hours of play.
I'm 12 hours in as well, but the story is picking up a bit! You'll have an encounter will Skullface soon :p Remember that it's gonna be a long game man, still so much time for the story to come through.

  12. Haha, that'd actually suit his build ridiculously well. I've sent him the link, but I do wonder about the price. If it's substantially more than the one we've picked out so far then I imagine we'll end up just staying with the Zotac one.

Anyone else finding MGS Phantom Pain hard when going for stealth? Normally I'm good at MGS games, but this one I'm constantly getting caught. What time of day do you guys do mission at? Daytime is almost pointless for stealth runs IMO. Dynamic time of day is cool and all, but for stealth it's kind of annoying.
Complete opposite for me ;) On GZ I got caught loads, but on TPP I think I've only had 2 alerts so far, and only one of them ended up in a lethal shootout, the other I just hid till they stopped looking lol. For me stealth has actually become fun again on this! As far time of day, I tend to favour night, but with the AI adapting the more you use the same time frame I shake it up and go daytime sometimes too. Just gotta make sure you go to about 3 or 4 vantage points before infiltrating somewhere so you can tag as many enemies as possible with the scope. Also when DD is unlocked as a buddy you'll be able to use him to tag all enemies automatically for you.
