Surprised at how fast mine is, remember when i used to check years ago and it would just scrape about 8 mb/s! haha
I remember when I used to check on the connection I had before fibre (about 2 years ago) and I'd get 2.2Mbps or lower ;) You had it sweet at 8!

@RevolvingPrawn  Fibre broadband is live :D  Speeds fluctuating a little, but they said it could happen for the first few minutes. Download is a minimum of 60mb/s  Edit: Steam is downloading at 74mb/s  B)
Very nice  B) And yea it will fluctuate a bit to start with, but once it settles down you should be getting the full 76 when plugged directly into the router :) Mine was around 25 to start with but these days it's bang on 38 every time I speed test it.

What game are you downloading? And how long is it taking? :)

    Test.

edit Wait, 40 characters limit? Come on, remember we were complaining about the 10 characters limit back in the vBulletin days...
It's probably to combat the spambots a little bit. Just quote the post you're replying to and it'll boost the number of characters in your post.

  4. @RevolvingPrawn @Hughesy @onetwothree There is 50% of the vehicles from the Pacific standard heist :) I bought the Savage attack Helicopter last night for half price.
It's all still the same prices for me :(
The Savage was 1.9 million before the sale and now it's around 950,000.
Yea the Savage is different, but if I bought it I'd be left with less an 50,000, and no thanks to that lol. None of the other vehicles prices seem any different at all.
Most of them are way over priced anyway lol
Too true. Wish they'd drop the price of stuff or bump the cash reward from doing missions. I'm usually hovering around the 1Mil mark with online but never seem to really actually make any money on it lol.

Why does it look so blurry?  Still might buy it via GMG VIP deal, but until I know if they are making it and not being handed to some crap dev (like Batman) I'm reluctant to buy it.
I think it's probably just the way the guy has recorded it :p Probably used a crappy PVR that he's plugged into the PS4 (yup, PS4 footage) at the event. The footage from E3 below looks better, but you can tell the motion blur is on. Luckily being PC players we can usually turn that off ;)

Still looks like a blurry mess, it's not motion blur but bad dof effects.
Meh, game still looks fun to me.

You compared Metal Gear Solid to James Bond :joy:  Never seen Snake go into a bar and say "My name is Snake, Solid Snake"

no neither have I but I didn't mean that it was like it in that way as I said I meant in gameplay terms

Sorry for the double post but this site acting weird on me today

Yeeaaa I'm still not seeing anything they have in common. :p So the last Bond game was 3rd person shooter, kill everyone in sight, completely on rails, set in places like Athens and Monaco.

MGS is 3rd person (the only similarity) stealth, you don't have to kill anyone if you choose not to, most areas give you freedom of choice as to how navigate them, set in completely random and far away places such as a small island in Alaska and the Russian wilderness.

Really not seeing anything similar dude lol.

  9. Oh man, if Portable Ops is the only one you've played then I honestly wouldn't just jump straight into MGS V, or even Ground Zeroes. It won't make any sense, you really need to go through all of them (preferably in story order, not release order) to actually get a full picture.

As for Bond, there may be a few very small nods at those movies with some of the music and the inclusion of a tuxedo as camo, but that'd be it. If anything it has more in common with Predator, the Arnie movie, than James Bond, and even that comparison is a huge stretch. There's just nothing else really out there like MGS.

A hard drive being full wouldn't cause problems, you said you needed a fresh install to glitches and games crashing. Now this is still happening you can rule out OS issues. Download MSI Afterburner and check temps for CPU and GPU at idle and whilst gaming using the OSD . http://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner A certain @RevolvingPrawn had problems and could smell burning (which was a good thing as not everyone would get that with overheating) Turns out his soundcard had gone bang...

Could even be a ram issue.  Also do what Prawn did and right click on said game verify integrity of game installation.
Exactly. And my first thought was that it was one of my GPU's, but by running the Afterburner OSD I could see whilst gaming that my GPU's were actually at reasonable temps so it had to be something else, which led me to figuring out it was the sound card. Could be anything really but a full HDD wouldn't cause those kinds of problems as Hughesy said.

I don't think W10 will really be causing all of your issues though, and any games that I've had crash or had problems with have been fixed by verifying the games files. If you haven't verified a game then it's the first thing I'd do. Did you do it for F1 2010? Because if not then do it.

  11. Just because you don't overclock and your room is cool doesn't mean there isn't something possibly overheating :p You'd really need to use Afterburner to monitor temps while in game to rule that possibility out. And if you were having major problems with Windows 7 then how is going back from W10 gonna make anything better?

  12. Normally I wouldn't post stuff like this, but as I was reading it something caught my eye. I think I might have figured out where one of our most illustrious CM Forum members has disappeared to. Look at the name of the person who wrote the article :D
