And just got some good family news, my sister is pregnant :) She's been with her husband for about 12 years now so it's about damn time lol. -
Test passed! Just got back from the pub, didn't smoke and actually barely used my vape. Also I've noticed just how much the smell of cigarettes lasts on someone after they've had one. It's weird to think that smell was with me too lol. -
What @Hughesy said :p Also nicotine isn't actually that bad for you, it's even used in some medicines. It's the tobacco that does the real damage, not the nicotine. -
Lol it worked both ways I guess! You heard me drinking while we were gaming and then your meds changed :p It's fun to drink and play coop though at least, plus you don't have to wait for me anymore while I'd go for a fag ;)
I'll take one of my vapes with me, but I don't reckon I could go outside with them yet. When my bud Martin was over the other day, every time he came back in after smoking the smell was overpowering and made me wanna go have one too lol. -
Little bit of good news to share, it's been just over 3 days since I had my last cigarette :) 10 years of smoking has come to an end mainly because of hearing @Hughesy puffing away on his vapouriser while playing GTA making me decide to try it as an alternative to smoking.
Got a bit of a test tomorrow, going to the pub with some friends and I'd normally go outside for a fag with them, just need to resist that now! -
Ahh, no no, I mean when you right click on a game and go to properties, under one of the tabs there's something along the lines of verify game cache integrity or something, it basically checks and makes sure all of the games files are intact, and if there's any missing or with problems it'll redownload them. If a game worked on W8 but not on W10 then just run that bud. -
That's weird bud, I only really ever verify files when there's a problem with a game. Most of the time though they just work without trouble -
If you have any problems with games in Steam crashing on launch with W10, just verify the game files. I've done it a few times now and verifying has worked each time :)sjsharp2010 said:fIsince08 said:Devastated. Just lost my main save on Grand Prix World as I hit bankruptcy :(
aww had that problem a few times myself when I played the game.Just about to start assembling my game library on Windows 10 now. Just need to get Steam and Origin back up and running. Also need to install my older games too to make sure they still work. Had a few problems with my headphone drivers but aside from that it's been working well so far. I did manage to get the headphones working eventually though.

You'll deffo have to backup your PCars save bud, I did a fresh reinstall a couple of weeks back and lost my PCars save. Seems it doesn't use Steam Cloud -

Hughesy said:I haven't but will do now bud, that's awesome bud. Wanted something like that for PC, as I'm so used to notifications on tablets. The only issue I have is Steam looks weird, like it's blurred and low res....
I love how they've done it though, no annoying pop ups or anything, just a colour changing icon :)
Can you screenshot it bud? Steam looks no different to me from how it did on 8.1 :/ -
Hughesy said:Wow I'm loving Windows 10, everything @RevolvingPrawn said was correct. Even coming from Windows 8.1 this feels like a big upgrade. Edge (IE) is awesome, and so is the music app. Without me doing anything, it added all my music in seconds. Microsoft have listened, the way it fused it all together into a really modern feeling OS is fantastic. I would highly recommended anyone with 7 or 8.1 to upgrade. Once Edge allows extensions it'll be perfect.
Yay I was right about something! ;) It's a damn good OS right? Have you checked out the action centre notifications pop out yet? If you have your email address on the mail app it works like it would on Android with the notifications :) But it's actually really unobtrusive, just changes the icon colour from black to white to let you know somethings in there.
And Edge is great lol, for browsing and posting I'm using it non-stop now, I'm only using Chrome for stuff like YouTube now because of the extensions. -
Faster than his Manor. -
I tried to, but my monitor only has a DP port and the HDMI to DP cable I tried refused to work :p
No idea though to either of those questions, might just have to play with the settings a bit and see if it can be improved. Have a go when you upgrade though, it's pretty simple to set it up :)
Here's a screenshot. Doesn't look so bad small, but stretched out it looks kinda poo lol. Definitely missing a few bits from when you play it at native res using a cable.

Big contradiction there.... :joy: In my book that isn't working well :pRevolvingPrawn said:onetwothree's best lap so far in the Red Bull, full wet conditions, Abu Dhabi is a2:01.2142:01.129. Anyone wanna try to beat that? :p I'll give it a go in a while.
Just streamed my X1 to my PC using the new Xbox App, I'm kinda surprised by how well it worked! I've not noticed and real input lag, and even though the image quality makes it look more like a 360 than an X1, it deffo works well.
Works well as in the speed of it is the best I've seen yet for game streaming :p Even Steam's in home streaming is a fail compared to this.
And the main reason for bad image is the fact it's streaming, and the fact the X1 does 1080p while we both have 1440p monitors :p Looks a bit blurry and pixelated. -
sjsharp2010 said:My PC is being a right stupid machine atm Don't know why as I've done checks on it and everything looks OK. Weird. It's not one thing in particular but I've been getting a lot more crashes lately in games and everything seems to be running a lot slower. Usually that means I end up having to reprogram it but with various games on the go I don't want to lose them atm Thinking I might need to use the cloud systems for my asves and then redownload them when I've done it.
Maybe I'll try Win 10 while I'm at it. After all if I don't like it and can't get things to work the way I want I can always go back to 7 as I have Win 7 on the disc that came with my system
And Windows 10 has rollback system so if you don't like it you can go back to W7 exactly as it was before you install 10 ;) -

Hughesy said:2fps is just margin of error bud. ;) Lots of tests have been done, you will see the odd frame or two higher or lower as it's just Windows 8.1. Once DX12 comes out, then you will see games take advantage of Windows 10. But I'm glad it's all working for you :) I won't be doing it until tomorrow once I get my USB drive.
Nah I'm just meaning in the way that with Windows 10 supposedly being lighter on the system :p When we were on GTA the other night I stood in the exact same place and was getting 54 fps :p
Had one issue so far, F1 2015 crashed on start lol. Just verify the game files though and it works no problem. Still no SLI though :| -
@Hughesy All seems fine so far with gaming on W10 :) Only tried GTA V atm, but SLI is working exactly as it should, and I stood in the place I'd normally stand so I can get an idea of what my FPS in the game is, it's gone up by 2 FPS since playing it on W8.1 lol. So yea, I'd say go for the upgrade :) -
@Hughesy We're deffo gonna have to coop this :phttp://www.game-debate.com/news/?news=17642&game=Dying Light: The Following&title=Techland Announces Dying Light: The Following, A Vehicle-Based Expansion Pack

Yea it's just a small program, once you run it it'll then download Windows 10. It's a really easy process, done it 3 times in the last half day or so :p Loving it as well, got it on my main PC now and everything seems to be working great :) -
That's the way I'm doing it on all of mine :pHughesy said:
You don't have to wait for it to show. If you reserved it then it will prompt you when it's ready, but you don't need to. Microsoft made it available for download for all here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISOcouger1981 said:The Win 10 update hasn't hit there i think, haven't been prompted to install it as yet. -

Wow. Groove Music, one of the apps that comes built into W10 is pretty freaking good! I doubled clicked a song, it popped up immediately playing on that and then in the top right it came up saying it was scanning for other media to add to the library. I only saw that message for about 0.8 of a second before it said it was finished and it has actually added the entire music library I have on my laptop :)
Windows 10 is awesome.
Edit: it's even imported my WMP playlists and actually has album art for songs that WMP never did :)
Oh and for anybody silly enough to buy anything from Apple ( ;) ) you can also import ITunes playlists to Groove Music too
