Hello all after some while Graphical representation of steering wheel doesn't match steering wheel controller. I narrowed it down to the following facts: By default, after controller calibration with 100% steering axis saturation, it matches perfectly cars like Ford Fiesta R5 WRC and all other cars with the same steering lock. Once I jump into a car with different steering lock I need to modify saturation to match both wheels. For example Subaru Impreza 97 requires 75% of saturation. It's obvious changing saturation changes also a feeling of a car. I found that setting saturation to make visualization matching the controller makes car better to drive. Which indirectly might prove that indeed changing saturation is needed. Unfortunately it's cumbersome especially in game modes in which changing cars is part of the game. For example Colin McRae campaign. This mode doesn't even offer option to trst a track before actual race which I usually use to match wheels. Also as playing in VR discrepancy between visible steering wheel rotation and muscle memory doesn't help. I have reported this issue months ago assuming it's a bug. Right now this thing did not improve. So maybe the problem is on my end? Any one experienced the same? Can anyone help me to get consistent steering wheel rotation across all cars? I'm using TX steering wheel set in driver to 900*. Calibrated in the game, Soft Lock in game enabled. with regards

Steering wheel rotation doesn't match rendered one
MaXyMsrpl posted a topic in DiRT Rally 2.0 Support
My steering wheel is set to 900* (full lock) and calibrated in the game, soft lock is enabled Unfortunately visual representation of steering wheel doesn't match rotation of physical one. With default linearity/saturation settings in cars like Focus2001, Subaru Impreza 95 rendered wheel ends rotation at 270*, at the same time actual wheel is stopped by soft lock at 360* (which seems more realistic for those cars) I found, I can set saturation to 75% to make them match at 90, 180 and 270 degrees. But then it doesn't match rotation in Fiesta R5, not sure right now but likely R5 matches when saturation is set to default (100). I have repeated the wheel calibration multiple times without change. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? -
Unable to create profile to start VR game

this issue is known since vr version release reported multiple times and obviously ignored by CM. the same bug (inability to enter text in VR) is present in rename car setup option which result in the need of kill/restarting the game. just imagine it at time you are in the middle of championship. Anyway, in your case run the game in monitor mode, go through onboarding process. Then rerun game in VR. but remember: do not even try to rename any of your setups. -

Rename setup in VR (Vive) doesn't work. It seems like key presses still apply to background scene (garage camera movements) but once you opt in for setup name change you are done - game must be killed by ALT+F4 because there is no even way to get out from edit mode. I'm reporting this issue since VR release... I can understand such an issue after release. I know, developers doesn't care about setup: who are using them? Supossingly not even employed consultants. At te end the game is targeted for arcade players who don't even know how to setup a car. I can understand overlooking the issue reports once or twice. But right now it's general ignorance and disrespect to us. -

Finishing/polishing the game before release (instead almost 2 years after) would work too. -

Interestingly, this rain issue appears only for particular players. For most it looks ok. Personally I never experienced it (VR/Vive). But there are reports over the forum from non-VR and VR users. My guess is it might depends on chosen resolution (maybe aspect ratio) or gfx settings. Devs might give an idea what is responsible for such rain animation. But never did so far -
true. and at the same time it makes impossible to record this replay in classic 2D mode. BTW both those features were included to Dirt Rally

I think you should provide them URL link to this discussion. And they (devs, monitoring team etc) should monitor the system. It's obvious we are not talking about issues of single persons but it's about general problem with RaceNet instead. Yes, it's not up to you. You can do nothing. But it's getting to be kinda obvious that nobody in dev department cares (or there are other priorities) about reliability of this part of the system. Or... it's f* up development/architecture-wise to the extent that it's impossible to fix it, lets say without huge investments (ie time to deliver). On the other side from company you provides paid services I would expect a promise of fixing issues incl ETA. -

@PJTierney you are mentioning only bigger outages. Can't you see that those problems appears constantly every day? Yet don't know you do it with intention. Could you comment on constant, repeatable ever-day problems with connectivity? -

+1 to that And in addition make result boards consistent because stage results shows different names than championship results -

Yes and no. You can match physical steering wheel to animation (not opposite way) by using saturation. it's true. But you have to re-match them for different cars. Cars with 540 rotation angle (R5) needs saturation 100. Cars with 640 rotation angle needs 75 and so on (numbers valid for my 900* steering wheel if does matter) It might be comfy in some way but: it also changes the ratio between physical wheel and simulated one. In result you compress lock-to-lock rotation for every car to 540 degrees (to match animation, because it is animation limit). in other words you turn cars with 640* or 900* into 540*. It's not surprising that it affects handling. Again: might be comfy because mostly it makes those cars drive easier (less movement needed to get a turn) I have to admit, not long ago I was thinking the same as you, changing saturation to satisfy animation. But recently one of my colleagues helped me to realize it's not proper way in case realistic handling has priority. I learnt to live with this not perfect animation (I play in VR) and actually it's not a big deal to used to it. -

Thank you. You are over here long enough to see those problems reappears for a year now. dev team activitites in order to fix the issue rolls too slow (or wrong direction). Effectively there is no improvements. I would say there are more outages recently then in the past. -

Are you analyzing outages weeks after the event? Really? Do you even consider an outage as critical issue? There was another big outage of your services a few days ago. Maybe it could have been avoided... -

I got information from my coleagues that RaceNet is working while my game constantly rejects any attempt of connection. I risked it and I haven't DQed from event. It means that the game it self can stuck in infinity loop of failing connection attempts, even if racenet is up and running again. Why it doesn't surprise me. Valuable info for others: if stage results are saved successfully (just before showing results table after finishing the stage) and you now that the next stage begins with a service, no additional server transaction is needed for committing to service. So in case of connection problems at this point, you can freely go to menu (regardless appearing warnings) or even kill the game. Again, shame on CM they are not able to deliver any help in this regard. -

Yeah.. don't know what to expect since even returning to menu (from replay menu) makes the game to attempt to connect servers. really ****** situation. Left without any help from CM. Just question: does racenet works for others right now? Can you guys play it? If yes, then it means the game itself has stucked because of temporary connection problems. -

After 19hours (after sleep and returning from work) still cannot succeed with retry. I'm able to go back to the menu with replay, have two options: retire from event (definitely don't want to) and return to menu. But even selecting this one, game tries to connect servers and fails with known message and 3 options: retry, return to menu (with warning about loosing progress) and back. Yeah.. I passed result screen, results are recorded in racenet. But still not sure I can return to menu (or kill the game) without loosing progress. -

yes. Set up max steering range in steering wheel drivers/software. Enable (if applicable) option to allow the game to change steering wheel settings. Calibrate in DR2, Turn On soft lock in DR2. You can change visibility of steering wheel in dr2 as mentioned by posters above. I'm playing mostly R5 and 2000 class. The first has 540 degrees of rotation which matches perfectly with controller wheel. The latter has 640 degrees which turns intois slight difference in animation, because animation handles up to 540 degrees rotation. I used to it (ussually I'm not focusing on animated wheel). But if it's an issue, turn animated hands off leaving steering wheel only -

Thanks. Can I safely go to menu if next stage starts with service? (results from recent stage has been stored, I can see them on web). Or I need to load service to be safe and then jump out to of the game? I left DR2 running whole night in order to allow game to connect servers once it will be possible. 8:30 CET. Still cannot connect servers. I'm monitoring how you do monitoring. This service quality is second to none. -

Speaking about clubs website I would like to report two more issues and also ask for help with fixing data The Issue 1: LEAVE CLUB button is visually not distinct from VIEW RESULTS. In some workflows, especially on mobile devices in conjunction with recent the web slowness, it might happen that user clicks on LEAVE club accidentally. This button is not secured by confirmation message. All together makes incidental leaving club very probable. Please make those buttons distinct or add confirmation popup at least. Issue 2 When a player leaves club having some championship points, he looses those points. After rejoin (which is possible) he still has results of previous events (incl positions), but there are 0 (zero) points for those positions. While I can understand resetting points when leaving the club in order to reevaluate all positions/points for remaining drivers, when the driver re-join, the points should be recalculated again to reassign the points to him. The request: I'm the victim of both issues. You can see I finished 6th: https://dirtrally2.com/clubs/club/247682/results/championship/1/event/0 but have no points added to championship (see 1st event): https://dirtrally2.com/clubs/club/247682/standings/current Is there a way to fix this? thanx in advance
