What are they testing? New Kebab Pizza ingredients? or how much Kebab you can eat without dying? MAYBE its the secret facility where they grow the Kebab animal that the meat comes from!

@Rallycameraman sorry about the gearbox problem. Sounds like you likes "Gravel, the sound..." :) I didn't actually notice much gravel sound, I certainly like the feel of it though! It's brilliant. Great! NOW, TELL US WHAT YOU KNOW?!!??!

It's also Veterans day in America, so I guess there could be a bunch of old dudes around. Personally wouldn't mind. I could mention something about the rally legend from the US that drove for Audi in the 80s. Could be called a veteran. Rally = <3

Calzone in general is awesome. Its incredible that simply folding something in half makes it even better. And I sometimes wonder why people become vegetarians :open_mouth:

Just to put some of the DiRT 4 focused stuff to rest. Frankly we don't really know quite yet, here is why: This is from Eurogamer back in February "And that, quite possibly, will be what's ultimately known as Dirt 4 - a game that's been teased while Codemasters experimented with the series, first with 2012's Dirt Showdown and then with Dirt Rally. Perhaps Codemasters is now ready to move on to the next big thing. "For me, this is the fourth Dirt," Coleman originally said of Dirt Rally back when the project was first formally announced. "Naming aside, there are conversations going on at an executive level, and there's a sense that if we call it Dirt 4 are people expecting all the bells and whistles of a console product with all the production values associated with it. They want to save that name for that product." Codemasters aren't talking about Dirt 4 just yet, understandably, though they've clearly already got ideas for what it could be." Things change over months, especially names. So it could very well be known as DR2 or if they add other disciplines to the mix (baja, dakar, or whatever) it will probably be DiRT4. PERSONALLY, I would like to see a split in the titles. Keep both serious no BroMance to D2, but have DR2 as a pure stage rally title with special stages and hillclimb since its virtually the same racing only without co-driver. Second would be D4 w/WRX, Baja/Dakar/Rally Raid racing, maybe some sort of stadium/trophy truck racing, also whatever you UK guys do with those big 'lory' trucks. I would only hope they could make them in parallel, but I don't want to speculate if thats possible. However Grid and DirtX have been developed at the same time/same studio.

I couldn't really tell you honestly. I've got something wrong with (Pretty sure) the exhaust, so engine braking and driving at low revs (under 2k) cause it to act up and bog down. And I don't want to ride my brakes, but other people force me to. The last 5 or so miles down the mountain didn't have any parking pulloffs, so unless I just wanted to stop in the middle of the road... Though some people are good about seeing someone come up behind them and pull off to let them pass. I drove up here once. https://flic.kr/p/hGu3Sp

DiRT Rally 2 or DiRT 4 or CMR5 ? Last one is a stretch but there really wasn't a 5 only 2005 ;) But WHY Showdown.... that doesn't belong EDIT: maybe CMR5.0

Hey man, this is the Pizza meat thread... go get your own if you want to talk about DiRT ;)

Every time I see this I think of DONAR like donated meat... ugh... maybe one in the same :joy:
-
"Kebab" is actually a broad term for a number of meat dishes, though it is most typically associated with doner meat: donor is the big elephant leg of meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie. Kebab pizza is a regular pizza with donor meat on top! Ok thats what they use on the Greek sandwiches here. Not sure what exactly the meat is on there, its just good. Gyro probably means its spins. it I think they have a Gyro pizza here, maybe ask them to add pizza sauce on it and see what happens.

Ok finally looked up this Kebab pizza, i dont lnow if this is an American Greek thing, but is this the same shaved meat that is on a gyro?

real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship
gfRally replied to Fedemaisonnave's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Seeing a lot of RX fans discuss a move to WRX from Ogier. It's where the big-name competititors are at the moment! Would love to see that happen. World Champions everywhere, especially if JB decides he fancies a pop at RX too. WRX: where retired WRC champions go... old folks home for WRC  I wish I could be more of a fan .. my heart is in stage rally "its not the destination, its the road getting there" WRC: I hope everyone doesn't jump to MSport or DMack I really don't want to see more Fords out there. Not hating on Ford, but they are over saturating the market. Could we have Audi back or Nissan? I would cry with Joy if Subaru could come back, too bad the rules keep the door shut on them. Variety is nice, but its very expensive to manufactures and Subaru is doing very well without WRC. Oh yeah, VW, I wonder if dropping out has anything to do with dieselgate? There will be a huge chunk of change that will be paid out for that, and usuallys factory motorsports suffer first. -
Well it looks like VW is going the way of Audi, it will stand a anotger legend in WRC history. In come Toyota, with the mad Yaris. Too bad here in the US besides the Prius its an awful little runt of a car.

We eat crazy pizza here, but i cant figure out the ingredients

DR2 new menu testing, Now with less clicks!
-
Ha! I thought it was just me who was thinking that an awful lot of people seemed to be overly worried about the menus! I do agree that the menu(s) in DiRT 2 looked very stylish, though they were a little clunky in places and could have been a little more intuitive. Personally I prefer simple, stripped back, menus, so I can spend the minimum time finding what I want and the maximum time racing. CMR 2005 sticks out in my mind as good, as the front end was very simple, though you did get a visual representation of the car at select points. Something a little more involved in the next title would be a nice detail, but if the menus from DR were recycled in order to enable the team to spend more time elsewhere it wouldn't bother me in the slightest!
-
I now want them to make a character specifically dudebro, and just have all the other characters talk crap about him behind his back. so more or less Tanner Foust... If anyone knows his RL antics

Those have to be the ssssslloooowist moving tech's ever XD WRC6 is a good idea with bad implementation. I still like the First Person view of D2... Another idea: Since a lot still like the trailer from D2, I think its common for real rally, that you would go to your trailer to see current standings, and other race data. Perhaps this is where you would go to review/save/etc your replay. Possibly it could be the place you can quickly access the Online features, run a quick stage/event or whatever. Thats also where you can pick your event type: Stage Rally, Pikes Peak (or Hillclimb), Dakar/Rally Raid, and Rally Cross. Basically the Trailer would be where you go to do 'paperwork' side of rallying. Even where you would talk to your team manager/principle about codrivers/cars/sponsers. The business end of it all. Thats if for me, today, my bill is in the mail :)
-
Oh one more thing that was a great by-product of seeing the actual in game car sitting in the tent, was it had the user made livery that you added. Not showing up in car selection screen isn't a big deal if you immediately see what you really picked right after.
-
You're not alone. I loved the trailer part of the menus in DiRT2 as well. If they'd do something similiar for DR:2, I'd be all for it. Wow, gents. All this time and I thought I was the only one. @JZStudios it felt X-Games because it was supposed to feel that way. ;) Thats been my complaint for a long time, we need immersion from the start, we need to FEEL like we are somewhere. I liked D2 x-games feel at the time, still don't mind it for what it is. However for a real Rally game, it should be a little more mature. The system could be sped up for those that want to move on quickly, but again, if you are standing outside the service tent, choosing your setup, click ok.. and the lead tech waves you over to get in the car (as you see the timer clock wind down), you walk towards the open door... then you load up to the stage, a map shows up with the transit section (kind of like D2 and I believe CMR3 showed it) till the 'dot' reaches the stage then you appear there WITH CARS IN FRONT! You wait a few seconds till you are waved up, time control checks with codriver, and then the clock ticks on one side and the other is the person using the finger count. You complete the stage, drive up to time control and fade out... NO CRAZY END SOUND like D2/D3 just fade away. again back to transit load screen.. etc Each service location would have a different background (like D2) This would be my perfect experience, you FEEL like you are part of an actual Rally in a rally environment. I think this is what @BadD0g was referring to, there is more to it then just the stage. I really don't think this would be a burden to those that want to just get to the racing, it just needs to be done right and not feel too [draggy?] Thanks for listening..
-
@bogani I agree. For me, outside the car, AC is stale. I mean the menu system/interface is meh.. The scenery looks like its from 15 years ago. However the cars model detail, and physics are superb, but the models fall a little short of Forza. PCars, although not so much of a sim, the package is there, you feel immersed in the game.

Toca can suck my ass. sorry i own literally all codemasters games. but toca sucks big hairy ass. Your Arse is big and hairy? Thank you for that info.. What I read, cannot be unread

I have always wanted a well thought out career mode. I like your idea, BUT wouldn't it be great if Colin was who we where competing against the whole career? Think about it, he was an great driver, but had his faults (crashing) so there is always room for others to beat him. He had the will and determination to win, sometimes the cars he drove didn't (lol). Look at it from this perspective: No one can ever BE Colin McRae, but we can all aspire to be like him, so the game you are trying beat him by building your own team (sponsorships, car, spare parts, codriver). Obviously like most rally that I have experienced, its all friendly competition, even if McRae was a hot - head at times. Anyhow, its early Saturday morning... my head isn't real clear.. so this may have been talked about before.
