I know it's been really popular to have the Renulte etc in the game, however as a "wish" it would be nice to play with some of the less common cars as above in a game. A far fetch would be a Toyota Corolla. Just wishing
-
Just to make it clear, there are many missing cars that we'd all like, this one is just obvious with the resent tribute at WRGB

This would be cool, for some of us. Also a nice nod to Colin OR to be greedy, we are already 1/3 the way there:

Some sites have a team of reviewers to look at the same title and give a combined score and review. I always enjoy these, much easier to trust the review and more comfortable with the decision I've about to make. Personally thats what is wrong with many of these reviews. They are slanted because someone loves rally, loves hard core sims, has no clue what rally is, or whatever perspective. Personally PCGamer for me has always been a weak source of info. I'm probably late to the game with this, and not wanting to stir some more heat. I sat back and thought how I make decisions on my purchases. But I'm a weirdo anyhow, I know.

Different from before @ThierryNeuville we now know there is a future for Rally Sims at Codies !! Finally

I just listened to the show again to see if I missed any details or gossip. I'm having to play it at the lowest quality (because the internet at work is awful!), I can't quite make out what @KickUp says after he mentions my award: it sounds like "you've got a copy you've already got waiting for you. Congratulations"? Am I hearing that right? It was stuttering on youtube a lot, I got about half way and stopped. It just got really bad, that I couldn't make out portions of the conversation. It was also screwed up with the screen ratio too. I think they should set up 2 recording methods. 1 for archive, youtube and one that is live streamed. Probably with 2 different cameras and computers. The last couple of live streams have been kind of messed up in some way. I do appreciate their efforts doing this, but for me, I'm going to just watch here for the synopsis.

Congrats to those that 'won' recognition yesterday! That was fun to hear. Also to @evilsmurf , I didn't realize how much you have been doing to fill in for Lee, maybe you will have a future doing this paid :) Gossip? I didn't really hear anything regarding new content (new liveries?) or DLC between now and April, so I'm not going to hold my breath or have any hopes. It was interesting to hear about @kickup messing around with a Porsche in DR, sounds like a curiosity for them to try. He pretty much shot down the possibility of having that car in any game because of the cost of licensing. So I guess we could start pondering the next title

Paddle shift will make my life easier, and if I can sit on the bonnet to as that's the only view I'm used to. Whoa! Glad you don't use bumper cam

Subaru seems to have played well with Codemasters too, we have 3 (or 4 counting WRX) in game.
-
So there will be more to talk about than sales figures, every friday? oooooh the gossip  Oh yeah, Pauls interview. So basically everyone likes the game except for the Lawyers. Maybe they would win them over if they have one show up [in game] every time we crash? lol

Or was that about a new game? I.e. DiRT Rally 2 ?

Awesome! Regular status updates on the forums please :-) Will Codies sponsor you with a big dirt rally logo? ;-) With permission I would slap DR logo on it for free, just because.

Depending on the stage, I guess it could be possible to actually make something along the lines of the length of the Finnish stages. I'd think making a Kenyan stage would take less resources engine wise than something like Finland, given the sparse nature of the landscape. Certainly plenty of obstacles in this 10 minutes of onboard! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pinoWOCIwFQ This looks like it could be fun, and completely different when wet and muddy. The more I think about it, it seems this may be one to shelf till the next title. It would really shine if they implement a mild terrain deformation (not spintires pudding deformation), and maybe a revamped particle system for HUGE dust clouds, etc. Dust would probably effect the visibility if you are second or third back. So there are pluses and minuses. China was fun in DiRT2, I actually enjoyed most of the rally events in D2, but I could go on and on about the little things that I would like to see in the future, so I will stop here.

If a Safari Rally would be done, IMHO it would have to be done right. Lots of dust and MUDDY water crossings. Cars would need proper gear, if you can call it that: And of course the Datsun 240z that was so famous in the Safari rally way back. The bar is just been set too high in the current DR graphics and environment to have less. So not sure if this would be a DLC that could do the even justice.

One "legendary" place is full gravel Pikes Peak.

No rally school, this: "For fresh players, we've developed a detailed set of tutorial videos that cover all aspects of driving a rally car. We want to teach players how to handle our cars, rather than making things easier." - Red Bull interview

I am not guessing here or saying something should happen, just throwing out some facts. Remember that DiRT Team have a large collection of reference material of places from their previous DiRT games. Just let your mind run wild at all the places they have been to. We also know that they reuse assets from previous titles, so they aren't starting from a blank paper to build these. We don't know much of anything other than a car or two will be coming along at some point, and there is some sort of Legends version, whatever that will be, we don't have much. Whatever they feel makes most sense for marketing and sales, if that means more stages to the places we have, or new places based on previous material (which sounds good for marketing). Again I am not saying they should or will do anything further, its all just stuff to think about. At some point they will need to start working on the next title.

Yes on mobile site I switched to full site and it fixed it, now I have to squint or scroll

My bets are on Thursday or Friday, if there is some exclusive info on Absolute Rally show

I agree with some of his concerns at the end of the article, but it does not feel unfinished. The menus are simple and get you neatly from A to B fairly quick. One thing I fail to understand at all is the lack of mentioning he car sounds!?? Oh well, glad they praised it for everything else, generating more sales, and sending a loud message to those in charge at Codies.

I would just like to point out that my suffering has, in fact, elicited a more entertained response than the screenshot of a Fiesta launching like a rocket off of a cliff in Monte. I'll say that again, a Fiesta launching like a rocket off of a cliff in Monte. You are all awful, awful people. :'( Maybe, just maybe these tools are being worked on internally and will be released to us in the future? Oh don't get me started again about custom cameras! :weary:

@RyuMakkuro Impreza "not the cool one" how can you say that, all Subarus are cool and great and have complicated numbers ;)

i feel violated Violated? Surely you should feel uplifted? at least inflated.... An inflatable porkhammer? Don't change the name, and we would all feel violated.
