I think D4 will help replaying DR a little, while Your Stage is awesome, returning to a authentic and iconic stage in DR will feel fresh after a while playing D4. For me this will only kill off D3 completely. D2 will always have aplace in my heart, and will play it now and then. I think Kenya (D3) is the only stage that will still feel unique since original Dirt, to me. So by that i think DR will still be relevant, after the buzz of D4 wears off in time. -
Jon just kicked him in the groin for a bad call at last event, and Paul picked the french language in between.. i dont see the immersion killerJepsertti said:
I really hope it will change because watching a mid-aged man reading pacenotes in Jen's voice would be quite a big of an immersion breaker for me at least.KingOfCoins said:I heard of that yeah. It was probably strange to see the model of Paul having a female voice. I really liked Jen as a codriver in dirt3 and I intend to choose her in DiRT4. That reminds me, I wonder if the co-driver model will change depending on who you pick. That would be really cool if that was possible -

I am guessing Rally Raid will come down the road, @KickUp mentioned something about needing to Perfect sand or something. So it sounds like in D5 maybe well get Baja 500 type of event with your stage and a Navigator (different from codriver). Im sure it will be amazing then. -
Porsche? I would take a guess there is no damage model.VirtuaIceMan said:Whatever you think about Milestone, their licensing team are on point, here's a quote: "Gravel features more than 50 of the best offroad vehicles ever created. We basically have the finest selection of cars from the ‘70s to 2017, including Group B rally cars, American trophy trucks, cross-country vehicles, rallycross cars, Group S prototypes, some brand-new vehicles such as the 2017 Abarth 124 and legendary brands such as Ford, Lancia, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Renault, Chevrolet, BMW and many more. And let me show off a little bit; we also got Porsche! When they said “yes” after reading the game design documents, it felt like Christmas day."

@Rallycameraman we were short on gossip started taling about spam.. ended up almost competing with the Koreans -
GRAVEL has always been my TM... they needed to license it from me..VirtuaIceMan said:Milestone officially announced GRAVEL, it's almost the polar opposite of Dirt 4, which maybe isn't a bad thing: http://gravelvideogame.com/
They do mention in the trailer something about "infinite tracks", which I raise an eyebrow at. It's not really infinite, is it Milestone?
I am milestones TOYOTA -
Ok, I have obsessively looked at the new Video. @KickUp after watching it several times, I have to say.. this is going to be incredible, any questions that I have had about locations (Michigan :) have been answered and this is going to be another very special game for me.
My only question is, how much of the external cameras are from the 'magical backspace' key, or whatever you guys call it. :)
Thanks

I know its a bad word around here, Sounds like DLC in the future. A unique event and a Car that may be bought later (not confirmed).
I will shut up now -

Was covered by someone else. They wont be selectable, but will be on the car depending on day or night stageBusterbvi said:@KickUp I did ask before but maybe overlooked. Is it possible to give us the option of having the cars spot lights fitted in daylight ? Rally cars look so much more complete with them fitted.
That's a real shame, hope Codies will re-consider this. @KickUp ?
I would like this too, but no real place to do it since its just for looks, only a checkbox in livery editor. But that seems to be for the team and not each car. Maybe someday it will find its place. -

We are easily amused with all the spam. Have fun..
4 a good time stop here -
So I wonder if they are posting about all the English spam, and the jerks that keep flagging their posts xDRallyDriven said:I don't see any spam, but that's probably just because I speak fluent Korean. There's some pretty intelligent discussions going on, it's just all being misunderstood :( -
I am not the best at driving, but I keep the wheel rotation as close to real as possible, and never leave the inside view. I have fun with my setup, its quite the workout steering. I have fun this way, it makes it more of a simulator than a game. It also gets very close to driving my car in the real world, I have the same fear of crashing if I don't slow down (i.e. financial loss), if that makes sense?KevM said:
Yep, I believe so. I'm rethinking every habit iv had with this game now. Even my wheel settings were 'built for speed'. Iv reset them to default, made a couple of tweaks & the game feels even better - again!gfRally said:
Isn't that like a "I am the 5%" tier?KevM said:

Even Pay2Win ain't as stupid of an idea as that is.
oh, never mind! :D
@Hatward could possibly segregate the tiers based on view/assists? Was there not an achievement unlock for manual interior no assists?
on the Spam, I think 3 reports removes the thread automatically
I compete everyday for my job at work, I don't need to have that at home for entertainment, so I am quite happy being slow and getting down the stage without crashing. If I see an improvement in my personal time over a stretch, thats awesome and satisfying.
If you play against Pork and you have fun doing that, great, glad you are having fun too.
I think if you want to be finite about tiers, then it might be best to create a league with the stipulations you impose. I have joined a few where we are all using a wheel and other similar hardware, its mostly an honer system, but there is some back and forth stage wins amongst all the participants. Its been a small niche group and we are all there to have fun, not extremely competitive. Which brings to mind how incredible Your Stage (YS) is going to be with these types of play. Everyone gets bored with the current stages, the owner runs out of ideas quickly since everyone knows the stage and participation therefore diminished quickly. With YS the owners will be able to kick out a whole season that no one has ever seen before.

If you have surround sound, you can split the center channel off to a headphone. I believe center is only used for voice (i.e. codriver)KickUp said:
It's a great question and we believe it would be possible but we are not allowed to do it.Teuchter said:Not sure if this been raised but is it possible to split the audio on the PS4? I have the idea of using my headphones for pace notes via the headphone jack on the pad and then my surround sound (I tried it ages ago but it didn't work and don't have my surround set up at the moment) for the rest of the effects.
Would it be possible to implement in Dirt 4, it could really imo add to the immersion. -

Is that a pic of Pacific Forest stages?dwkGravey said:
Well if you don't want our continent in rally games, you shouldn't have colonized us. Bring on some CRC rounds!RodgerDavies said:
I'll be honest that I wasn't thrilled by Michigan as a location when it was announced, but having read up on it recently it really does seem to be the centre of North American rallying (3 rounds of Rally America series are held there!). So, whilst there are more significant places in the rallying world, I concede that it does have its place.

[retracted] sorry bud, only laughed that you lost your wager. No matter how jealous I am of your driving, it's no fun to be frustrated like you posted. Hope you can get this worked out.Porkhammer said:
It was never on to begin with. I did try enabling it, but without luck.DeMoN1111111 said:Allow to change settings by game can be enabled, at least for me. For the softlock option (which I dont use) it would be even necessary to have this ticked.
Your problem sounds a bit like the softlock option enabled, but if you dont allow the game to change settings it shouldnt matter if softlock on or off. But have you tried it with softlock off?
@gfRally it's not funny, it ruins a whole lot of fun. :(
