the funny thing is my family have owned 8 different subarus since 1980s.

the difference in most is almost nothing ! :p last model was a RBR 320 which was 400bhp.

as for mitsu owning subarus lol you should try racing gobstopper 2 in any mitsu then tell me who wins :D
I drive a Japanese import Subaru Forester STi (2004) currently :-) before that had a UK Celica GT VVTL-i, and before that a Japanese Supra twin turbo. The Forester (running a detuned Impreza STi engine) is almost as quick as the Supra!
    put pix up in the

    Mitsubishi owns Subaru anyway

    • Body is 11 characters too short.
I may have fallen for a troll, but on the assumption the above is a serious statement: Subaru is a division of FHI. FHI is partially owned by Toyota. Mitsubishi is a standalone entity. Where is the connection?
I think Doc is using another definition of "owning" as you are.
When they are both in the game, we'll settle that!  :)

mitsubishi knew it was beat so bad they're focusing on electric Prius type cars :P

(I hope this is takin as fun and not war)

  3. Why people even bother trying to separate the Subaru's in such an odd manner is beyond me. Do what I do - say the 97 Impreza, 98, 99, 00 ... etc. It would save just about everyone a headache and let them focus on more important things... like playing Dirt Rally.
Porky, your just not a Subie fanatic like us.

I would still trade all upcoming cars for a Impreza WRC S5   :#
I would prefer the S3 (or WRC97) for one reason : it got a 6-speed manual h-shift transmission, instead of a 6-speed sequential
I know I might get flamed for this by the Scooby experts, but is there actually an Impreza S3? To my knowledge the S5 is the the first WRC with an "S" - also WRC99. The earlier are simply WRC97, WRC98, no S3 and S4?

LOL, aint even going to touch that subject, again

Are there any infos or hint's what the Modern Masters Pack will contain?
    What are your thoughts?  :)
Here what we won't get because toyota are made of assholes right now

It may be a budget issue to, Toyota may want too much for the license, and they can't afford it with the CURRENT budget.  Maybe the next game will have a larger budget since Codies sees the success that DiRT Rally is.

  6. @tbtstt Thanks for sharing!  I didn't know what happened to that car over the years.  Glad to see it running again.  Fun to see the iconic boxer manifold look basically stock.

Have to love rally even more when a company fully restores a piece of history then hopes it sees many more years or rallying (and abuse!).

     So from the old table

    Rally Group A
    - Ford Escort RS Cosworth - Subaru Impreza 1995 - Lancia Delta HF Integrale - Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205

    ST205 licensing problem.Probably completed

I'm really happy about the upcoming cars. and other stuff . Anyway, I feel very sorry that there are licensing problems in DR with a car brand, that had such an impressive impact in the history of World Rallying: TOYOTA.

Dont know if the licensing issue has been discussed more in detail about Toyota here, but if not pls @KickUp  could you at least mention a few words about this, we had Toyota in many CMR Rally Titles and even in Dirt 3 still. So it's quite hard to understand, why a brand should suddenly be so reluctant to refuse licensing on this ultimate rally Sim. Would appreciate any more detail here.

Licensing isn't always about a company not wanting to be in the games.

Money is part of it too, they could want more that the budget allows for.  Companies may want more control than the Devs want to give up (ie unrealistic handling).

This could be the reasons why we see other Devs get them in the game, besides deep pockets, games like NFS And Forza titles don't really "give up" much for difficult handling cars.  They mostly have generic handling anyhow and a manufacturer will see them as more of a TV ad, especially with their showroom intros and so on.

  8. Since many here know I'm a big Subaru guy, this would be great to see:

    1995 555 Subaru McRae livery
    2001 Richard Burns
    2008 Peter Solberg

Not going to happen but still love to see:
1992 group A Legacy Ari Vatanen
    1997 2dr WRC97 Impreza

Did I get names right?  Master @tbtstt

    Back on track my prediction:
    2001 Impreza
    2001 Ford Focus
    2001 Mitsubishi

Just to to add a vote for cars already talked about here.

  9. I mentioned this before, further up I think, the sounds are so good and so much put into them, that its such a waste to not plant a camera like your a spectator and just hold it "in anticipation" of the car coming.  One thing that I enjoy about spectating at a real event is listening to the crackles and surges of the car coming through the woods then finally seeing it.  It would be great to relive this a little in a replay.

Besides show casing the sound, it would also make our replay videos unique when we post them.  Some have been very creative with hiding the cars briefly, but it would just make posted videos that much more appealing.

  10. Just wanted to revisit this after playing the game for several months now.  I still think controllable cameras are the best way to go.

Even a few more camera positions on the stages would be a good start.  And just being able to select a camera position and keep it there without switching, like watching the entire stage from a drone/helicopter, same goes for RX too.

I'm not sick of it mate, these people need to be put right ;)
Well, can't wait to hear the correction by you guys then  ;)
@macebig is on the right line @GroupBFanatic . One more time, here is my 22B/Impreza WRC post...

Prodrive used a "S" number to designate the various generations of Impreza World Rally Car they built. The '97-'98 World Rally Car was the S4, the '99 World Rally Car was S5, the '00 World Rally Car was S6... you get the idea. (Prodrive also used a similar system for their Group N cars, except they are identified by an "N" prefix, not an "S"). The only exception to the rule is the 2007 Impreza WRC, which was identified as the S12b WRC (rather than S13 as you would expect). The Japanese are a superstitious bunch and so Prodrive avoided the number with their car designation!

The 22B was a road car released in 1998 and designed to emulate the look of the 1997/1998 Impreza World Rally Car. The two door, wide arch, Impreza World Rally Cars were on stages for well over a year before the 22B hit showrooms and its name is actually homage to the rally car: "22B" is hexdecimal for "555".

There is a lot of confusion between the 22B and the World Rally Cars of the era. This is compounded by the fact that there are a huge number of online articles about the 22B that contain incorrect information.

Officially there were 424 22B's (400 for the JDM, 24 for export). Of the 24 export cars, 16 were for the UK, 5 for Australia and 3 were prototypes. As with a lot of Subaru limited edition runs though, some of the numbers are a little hazy. It was originally stated that there were three #000 prototype cars (which were given to Colin McRae, Nicky Grist and David Lapworth), however a #000 was recently identified in the STI Mitaka showroom, which implies there were four #000 cars (I have subsequently read that David Lapworth actually got #400, but that's not been verified).

The 22B came with a 2.2L engine: WRC regulations of the era limited cars to 2.0L so, by its very nature, the 22B couldn't be a rally car. Incidentally, although they look similar, the S4 WRC and 22B have different panels. If you look at the two side-by-side you can see it, it's most noticeable around the front end and rear arches.

You need to just put this in your signature  @tbtstt , Professor Subaru LOL

  12. When is Finland update planned to? By the end of the month?
I imagine its going to be a bit of a BIG update so it may be off the schedule a little.  Before @justbiglee he gathered the wish list ideas into those that are possible and "you want what??" pile (i am adding this bit but its common sense) some of this may roll into this update.

Also don't be disappointed that this is a quieter update, again without Lee/twitch/wizard of oz/etc.  Besides we just turned into the 2nd week of Sept there are a couple to go before we start pacing impatiently :)

Well, on the plus side, at least we know who to give grief about the Porsche license to now...

It's EA... "grief" is the norm for them :)
EA has always been Early Access for most games they produce, except they forget and move to next title.  Perhaps!  Lee can turn them around too, he is a BIG GUY, with a heavy foot, it seams.

    @RodgerDavies
Perhaps we have a inside guy that could pull some political strings and get us Porsche at a good price
