Meh, really can't knock them for trying. I'd be nice to have the full gravel version in DR. If they are using that Suzuki for their unveiling, no citron? Can't compete with #THATCAR though, nope never.pupazzo said:It looks good

Really SLRE will probably drive like mariocart, graphics aren't that great anymore either. -
Perhaps we can point them to this game :wink:TPJP said:One of the things I hate in online Rallycross are the rammers, they break the immersion of the game...
In DiRT 3 I had some cases of people just ruining the race for others, It felt like freakin' NFS World where everybody rams each other.

there re can always be the DiRTy Gossip league too.
it will be interesting to see how they implement rules. -
Just browsed over at the F1 side, those people will never be happy...

Dr Freud said you need to let things out, don't internalize everything, it will make you go mad.justbiglee said:
The plan is for it to still be two packs, only the first one has slipped back a week from its original date... but that date was only internal so its not like you knew when it was due anyway. Would have got away with it if we didn't cross into a new month :PRallycameraman said:The new Road book, whilst it mentions about the RX update, it doesn't mention if it now means we'll get all 3 tracks or once, or it'll be Lydden and Holjes and then Hell a few weeks later. Can you confirm anything @KickUp? -
Oops forgot about Group B! Keep thinking modern. What the hey... Then just add a lot more gravel spray to the wales and Greek events :wink:DocStrangelove said:
To be fair, we do have 480 hp rally cars now. Which are too fast already though :anguished:gfRally said:
these are 600+ hp cars compared to the 300 hp Rally cars we have now. -
Ok I understand that, keep comparing FIA RX to GRC which I like the competition and cars, but the organization and races are a joke! They end up with quite a bit of dust here (no wonder why there are low attendance)GentleNameMVB said:
I'm sure that will be mentioned in more detail in the DiRTy Show marking the release of the RX pack.bogani said:This is the type of info that would be good to come out in an official blog. I for one get many answers when asking nicely on twitter, but if much of that info came out officially many threads asking the same question/pointing out problems wouldn't be created. The excessive deceleration off throttle is one example. I asked about it, they know about this problem and it will be fixed.
With regards to kicking up the dust there isn't there wasn't that much of it getting thrown about at Holjes.
The gravel sections get wetted a number of times during the day of racing, as otherwise on such hot and dry days like this weekend the dust would really obscure what people could see.
Also, from what I've seen the gravel in gravel sections is quite shallow - only the sand/gravel pits are quite deep.
Most of the RX tracks are primarily tarmac and even if there's quite a bit of gravel it rarely remains in bends for long :)
Having said that when I tried the RX update with AI drivers they were kicking up dust on the downhill section, just before the jump - a little bit too much especially when one doesn't know the track that well...
What was cool to see was the aggression level of the AI drivers and how they drove the cars. They were going sideways, the car was moving and they were not taking prisoners. I know that Paul wants the AI tweaked and slowed down, but I think some of that aggression and the manner in which the AI throw the cars about would be welcome.
I do like some of the thick dust as I think it's part of the appeal of rally, that conditions very and aren't always fair.
Anyhow ow thanks for the report and info. -
No July release? Good for me since I'll be on vacation till August 2nd! :open_mouth:
One thing I am kind of hoping for is a lot more gravel and dust thrown about, these are 600+ hp cars compared to the 300 hp Rally cars we have now. Besides smaller area to model and render I would guess allow for this type of detail, but I won't mind if it carries over to other parts of the game, we have all seen the video/pix of corners with big rooster tails of gravel etc thrown off.
Im a visual person so this all helps IMHO bringing it to a complete Simulation. -
Lord help us all, when they begin (I mean seriously) to view energy drinks the same as alcohol/tobacco
blah in the future it will be all electric cars sponsored by Perrie water
All Codies needs to do is get us the car licenses, mod community will take car of liveries, hope in the end DR will support steam workshop for this reason.

I guess Porsche (another can of worms) just didn't want the hassle and made EA the broker for their license.

And that's why we will probably not see an S1 in DiRTRallycameraman said:Haha nice one Lee

Maybe do a Kickstarter campaign, I'd chip in a few $$ maybe the community would help out. But I don't want a dumb shirt for contributingtbtstt said:Dear @KickUp , @justbiglee , @cmsoundfx , @soundfx and all at Codemasters.
I would like to complain. Having managed to dissuade myself from a trip to PC World this evening, I happened to log on to my my computer and see this video posted in the thread:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsWYmLt9H2s
So high was my level of want for what I was seeing that I immediately threw my wallet at the computer screen with such velocity that said monitor is now destroyed.
I am holding you all personally responsible for the creation of such a desirable add on for DiRT Rally and the devastation it has caused to my existing computer setup. I must insist you provide me with a replacement monitor (and of course a matching high spec desktop) in order to prevent me from taking this matter any further.
Yours faithfully
Steve

Lol. To be honest these are the two things I'm not that fond of in todays rallycross. Monster Energy, sideways caps, and the girls are hot and all that, but cmon, it's 2015. Do the sport really need that to draw interest?gfRally said:You know to really make this a SIM for RX, and since Monster Energy is involves, what is missing?
Monster Energy Girls ;)
If it gets women involved, then yes I'm for it.... errrr I don't think thats what they mean.... lol -

Ok, I am absolutely floored by this news, and that video???? Holy nuts! I can see spending quite a bit of time in RX. Interesting about the body panels revealing so much, guess thats RX, funny its not in the Stage rally side of DR.
Also saw lots of proper LINGERING dust particles on the dirt/gravel surfaces, thats perfect.
Really it just popped into my head how this could easily turn into a Rally School edition using one of these tracks or something like it, to FINALLY play around with handling and some instruction/guidance
Sorry for interjecting wishes amongst the RX excitement.
This is really looking good.
Edit: Oh I guess they will have to update the driver models too, Jon can't be driving every care at once!
 -
I really don't mind Paying for DLC as long as it's worth it (maybe groups of 3 or more cars) and 1 track each, but keep it 1 month separated from launch and keep doing so for a few months after. Like they have been doing in EA.789ifyz said:Or they could decide to continue EA. I'm not sure what price they're aiming at for the final release, but judging by the tininess of the increases in price after the updates, I'd say there's probably still plenty of room for more content to be added before the game's ready for final release.
If they do decide to continue, I'm pretty sure we could have ourselves a couple more Hillclimbs as well as a tonne of not-yet-announced Rally content which would then make room for all the RX circuits whilst maintaining the balance between the three disciplines such that Rally is still the main focus and the Rallycross doesn't take over...
As far as I'm concerned, the game will be incomplete without the Safari Rally and full Mod Support anyway... and I'm quite certain they Codies don't really want to go down the paid DLC route right now, and I somehow doubt that decision will be changing any time soon.
to to me shows they are interested and invested in the game than moving quickly to the next title. Again just as they are doing with EA.
Yes Safari rally could and should be revisited! -
@tbtstt
I knew about the Impreza GR, but I don't think its competing in any of the WRX rounds (ironic because WRX moniker), besides I am not really holding out much hope for many Subarus being licensed if maybe 1 more.
@ThierryNeuville
As cool as it would be and the relationship they are building between Codies and IMG/FIA. Adding all 12 rounds would change the Title to DiRT Rallycross by numbers alone (rally events vs rallycross events) and that would upset a lot of people here. I would be a bit disappointed myself as much as I am starting to like RX and playing it side by side with you guys, my heart is always in stage rally.
I have been wondering lately if DiRT Rally is very much a BIG experiment, yea yea obvious EA it is, but could DR be laying the foundations for other spin off titles? Maybe they are trying to prove to Codies that DiRT is still a profitable brand and there is still interest in a proper rally simulation.
I say this because of all the reused licensing (all cars thus far have been used previously), reusing an older EGO engine, obviously testing EA for the first time, etc. NOT THAT I AM DISAPPOINTED! I like almost everything we have in the title. I feel this way because of so much emphisis has been put into the Physics modeling and figuring out what works and doesn't with different locations. This is just my gut feeling, take this all with a grain of salt. -
The truth could not be more obvious
1 trophy probably not for FIA employee, more likely for a driver (which they will use their likeness in game?). My guess is Liam Duran Or Soleberg
interesting thoughts on possible cars:
VW Beetle RX
Audi S1 RX
Ford Fiesta (a given)
Citroen DS3
VW Polo
Does a FIA license blanket cover the cars too? Or just Tracks?
If licenses are separate, could these spill over to Stage Rally?
One more thought: could the later RX expansion cover the rest of the WRX series? I would guess that circuit tracks are a little easier to model than stage rally's long scenery. -

Nah more like Beer and Sausage :wink:Darhour said:Tarmac terrors content is filled with gin and tonic. Thanks for the marvelous addition, it was excellent for DR's perpetuation. -
Since TT will soon be old news, moving on to @justbiglee big event this week, could it be that DR has proven to be a fair success early on, Codie's may have mustered the money to get a official FIAWRX license? As per February's leak about securing licenses, could they have a bit of weight to throw around now? PURE GOSSIP here

But did it need to be down for a FEW hours?? Seem like a long time. -
Lol, I hear you about Rally America, but I had many stones thrown at me for requesting a RA event or American location; :neutral:bogani said:
We even need to have an american rally to get dirt right? In this part or the world it's called gravel. Let's rename Dirt Rally to Gravel Rally(and some tarmac)gfRally said:
