Cool, not going to promise anything but its good to know what you are wanting.
To add to the replay camera's, i've been thinking about a solution for the guys who want longer cameras so they can hear the car drive off in the distance.

First of all an option to only choose one camera style (only helicopter cam, only roadside cams etc.) should be there with also an option to mix all cams (how it is right now).

Secondly my idea for the animated roadside cams: A lot of guys have been asking for cameras that stay on longer so you can hear the car drive off in the distance. Downside of this is that you might miss a crash or something cool when the camera stays on too long. My idea is to split all the animated cameras into two groups. An a-roll and a b-roll so to speak. Then, let's say you have 6 corners in front of you, I want every corner to have a camera so you can see all the action but the a and b rolls take turns every corner. So corner 1 has an a-roll camera, corner 2 has a b-roll camera, corner 3 has an a-roll camera and so on. The the player can choose to have all cameras (the a-roll and b-roll cams combined) for a normal style replay and then also have an option to only have the a-roll or the b-roll cameras for longer cameratimes. I've made a small image below to show what I mean:

I really like your idea @Areyouben , but the A roll/b roll could be simplified if the replays could just be optionally saved after each stage, so it can be watched at another time.  This would allow you to ff and rw from any camera at any placed camera you select.  Make sense?  Saving replays makes all this a lot simpler.  Again I like your idea, there just maybe another way to the same end :)

  2. @kickup ultimately I would like to save a replay in game so I don't have to view it immediately after the stage.  Then be able to go back later drop a camera anywhere on the stage and watch it.

maybe its best if I break it down:

    WISHLIST
    choose helicopter view anytime
    choose drone view anytime
place drone where ever I want
place gopro style cameras anywhere on the stage, maybe in multiples
    add selectable spectator location views
i want to be able to hold a camera position for as long as I want even if there is no car, with the option to pan with car or not

Probably there is some sort of compromise that's less complicated in that list.  But that's just my wishes, no demands

I do like some of the new camera angles, nice improvement over DiRT3.  I like the automated view change, to just watch at times, but if I want to make a video that doesn't look like everyone else, other camera options are needed.

    thanks for asking

  3. I am waiting on a hack for the cameras (WIP) unless DiRTCrew releases this sooner.  I am working on a script now, have some small/big plans for it.  I don't mean to be make this out to be the greatest video ever, I am just trying to be meticulous about this one.  I want to get it right.  Stay tuned..

As gobsmacking as DiRT tally is, I miss the excitement of Lee's tweets and this thread speculating wild things. I'm (kinda) joking, DiRT rally is fantastic, Lee do you mind filling your twitter up with random numbers and hash tags so we can try and get a bit of dirty goss out of them? See of we can somehow work out that a Reliant Robin is being added from "13:07.34 #dirtonmycarswindshield"?

    GOBSMAKING???? you say...

  5. There should be the option of having different player accounts on a single computer - my wife likes playing this game and I'm sure many people are playing with their kids etc.

I think if you have 2x steam accounts linked to 2x different windows accounts (log in) then this is possible.  I don't think you need to purchase the game twice with Steam Family Share now.

  6. Would love to see some Rally America stages like the Oregon Trail rally or the 100 mile acre wood rally. Also some rally america cars like from Subaru Rally Team USA.
Thank you!  I have been using every avenue possible to get 1 RA event done.  I am hereing from real drivers they think OTR or STPR would be great to see.  As long as it's not Sn*wDrift I'll be happy, I just don't like snow, but that's just me.

Also like you said, the 2012 and 2015 Vermont Sportscar prepped STIs would be great to run there.

  7. Can anyone answer me as to why so many people want laser scanned tracks? I don't see why it would be necessary with the detail in the stages all ready
Sounds to me that these people have never been to a rally, or maybe don't understand what a rally really is.  Laser scanning a rally stage is like laser scanning the ocean.  The roads change constantly, rain can completely change the road with run off and mud.  Roads can degrade with each car passing through.  Its never really the same road each pass/event.  So scanning a dirt/gravel road is pointless.

@KickUp forgot to ask, would you be able to point me towards the Particle Systems folder? I don't plan on editing anything (yet). I'm mostly satisfied with the current particles, and I love the way they finally reflect in the mirrors etc., so apart from some of the smaller bits and the rocks and stones etc., I don't really think they need any editing.

Anyway, I was just wondering whether there was still a more detailed system file or if it's just the more generic files in the main effects folder this time round.

Somehow I feel you won't be fulfilling this particular question....
After playing it for a week now, I do think the GRAVEL could use a little more spray on turns.  I only have seen Ken Block first hand, so as far as WRC caliber cars there was a ton of dirt/rocks/gravel thrown on the hairpins I have been to.  I guess it's my opinion, but really think the partial effects are really great over all, dust is a huge improvement.

I'm waiting for what else you have in store for us. It would be cool to know what ideas you have and want to apply in the game.
I am thinking you are talking more detail than the timeline?  If not on the homepage of dirtgame.com lists an over all timeline through the end of the year.

Im still waiting since years for an proper replay mode with save function and a  photo mode. I dont need any stylish color filter and what ever I only want to have a free flight camera with zoom and thats it.
This is at the top of my list too.  Not sure why there is no save replay, really kills it that I have to watch it immediately after and record it (via shadowplay) to keep it preserved.  Cameras... Don't get me started

  11. This week's been fun hasn't it?
It sure has, haven't had much time to spent on the forums because... reasons, hence I missed some things :P
I'm the same, sorry I've not been around much but I know I can trust you guys not to burn the house down while I'm out.
@justbiglee nah. Someone slipped the Orange notebook (again) off your desk and we been looking at it like a porn mag, sideways and all, lol

  12. going to put this in a couple of places but here are a couple of cars that pretty much NEED to be in there (IMHO)

    Group a 1993 legacy

    Subaru WRC2005 S11

2012 SRTUSA  Subaru STI vermont sportscar

2015 SRTUSA Subaru STI widebody vermont sportscar

    1999 Ford Focus rs

Liveries can be whatever, the community can create those free of licensing issues.

  13. Here is my short list:

A little more anti-lag sound, and turbo chirping
User placeable cameras or at least selectable from any of the spots along the stage, even if car is not in view.
    Slow motion cameras
    Driver name on windows
Voice actor in menus giving explanations and on stage intro - miss this
Service and setup 'atmosphere' animated like CM05
    Get Vermont Sportscar involved again
Colin McRae historic car pack for charity again maybe
Livery editor with template import and decal import, or Steamworkshop Liveries import, what ever, just make it easy to select a new file in game and import it, ADDING to current liveries not overwriting.
when you crash stuff should fly around the cockpit (major crashes) small stuff like your go pro hanging by its teather or pace notes getting disshoveled
when you crash codriver should react a little, even 'nerves of steel @kickup should react to gravity a little, ask Nicky Grist

    Nitpicky:
Cars seem a little to glossy/shiny, most rally cars (top drivers and all) are a bit dull, just from abuse, maybe its just too much reflection and BECAUSE RALLY :)

    @justbiglee

As with all the others, I am proud to say I have been mentioned in one of the best rally titles released (only to get better in coming months).  Its really shows that Rally as a sport is so different than many many other motorsports, and this has poured over to our game and our group at DiRTyGossip.  Outside of meeting everyone face to face, there is something special about this group, a great camaraderie that is rare on the 'net.

Thanks Lee, and thank all you guys here for putting up with my millions of posts, rants, wild theories, and over excited misspelled phone posts :)

Oh yeah, Lee your just a big bully!

Now who can guess what cars we will see in the updates?
Most of what we ask for, probably. I predict a Ford Focus, i20, Polo R, 2015 Subaru, Evo X etc. in Modern Masters, and the old Evo(s), Impreza, Focus, Xsara among others in the iconic pack. And who knows, maybe the 2017 Yaris will show up somewhere. It'd be... interesting to drive a modern, kitted out, Rally edition of my own RL car.
I like that you mentioned Subaru twice ;)

  15. I think it would satisfy a lot if you can somehow drop a camera on the track or stage where ever we want would be perfect or even just be able to jump to a one of the pre positioned cameras and stay there, it would make for some great videos in the end.

    @Rallycameraman funny last post :)

    1) We still think we need this!  Its an improvement over DiRT3 but to customize the positions or hold them without switching.
    2) No Slowmo feature?
    3) No saving replays?  Most everyone is doing this now, need to catch up on this feature.
