  1. I wish people would stop saying 'copy Richard burns rally handling' - because I personally think this has a much more accurate representation of driving on gravel, it's loose, but can be heavy and slow you down when sliding
I agree on this, RBR is just hard, hard doesn't equal realism. To create a better game than RBR you can't just copy it, it will never be better (except for graphics etc. ofcourse)

Well, @Rallydriven and @Turbodevin19 @Tbtstt one thing I do noticed,... there are Always people that complain about I want the RBR physics,... but what I do noticed is that there are rather more positive reactions instead of negative!
And there are just a few reactions that want the old RBR physics,... so I think the DiRT team has to receive a great compliment for achiving something that no rallygame did before ( getting a real sim/ getting real close to RBR)! remeber this is there first real sim at rallygames by codemasters and its heading in the right direction! I am looking forward to the DiRT rally game in 2016, when buggs are gone and it almost complete is! I think we created then the best game together!

Thats the power of the early acces,.. every one is helping now to create the best game instead of tear the new game apart!
I saw a funny tweet by Paul or Jon and its absolutely correct about it, "who know that hard would be so fun".  This is not a easy game to play, wheel or otherwise.  You need to develop fineness with this and each car really does handle differently so each car brings a new challenge.

  2. @justbiglee

As with all the others, I am proud to say I have been mentioned in one of the best rally titles released (only to get better in coming months).  Its really shows that Rally as a sport is so different than many many other motorsports, and this has poured over to our game and our group at DiRTyGossip.  Outside of meeting everyone face to face, there is something special about this group, a great camaraderie that is rare on the 'net.

Thanks Lee, and thank all you guys here for putting up with my millions of posts, rants, wild theories, and over excited misspelled phone posts :)

Oh yeah, Lee your just a big bully!

Now who can guess what cars we will see in the updates?

I believe this Friday is the 128th day of the year. I wonder...
Next week Friday May 8th would be the 128th day of the year. If something appears then it would be ideal as I'm back from a holiday :P

I still think something is brewing for today... Why else would @justbiglee  mess with DiRT Facebook page?  Oh I can think of one reason...

    TO TROLL US! :P :D
I am still holding out and saying jamesMAY 8th

    soundfx tweeted

    And Darren tweeted
    https://twitter.com/hatward/status/592598563949060096

    Probably something internal happening

I gather that @Hatward is a bit of a jokester (like me) and maybe taking up slack for @justbiglee today if he is busy with this "something"

  4. I'm sure it's difficult to make a straight bit of snow road with 5 trees and snowbanks look similar to a photo...
In the video I noticed that the water puddles look as if they are mapped, not 'physical'. You can see them when looking at an angle, but they disappear when you're over them. Then again the SLRE game is months away so no point examining in detail

But the Wiki link on the DiRT game Facebook page is worth examining! For me the FB page doesn't load any content. When would one relegate DiRT 3 to the depths of the Internet? When the next one becomes more important? :D
Oh I understand all of that, but to show a comparison and say look how good we are doing, well when the two are so much different, why show the too.  Thats all I mean.

  5. Well this is interesting?

Facebook page now points to wikipedia

    regards to SLRE:

This is their idea of realistic comparison then handling will be botched for sure.  Looked at a dev diary again and saw this.

There is NO comparison at all like showing a pic of an elephant and a dog and saying look how close we are!   ?

  6. Some pretty good looking screenshots from Seb Loeb Rally Evo have appeared:

    http://www.teamvvv.com/en/news/comments/Stunning-Sbastien-Loeb-Rally-Evo-Australia-stage-screenshots-show-fine-detail

I'm a big fan of Rally Australia stages - I love the look of the orange /red dirt :)  I once drove a Nissan Micra on a dirt road in Oz and that pretty much makes me a rally driver.

Within the article there's a link to a piece which appeared on Eurogamer Italy. It's difficult to know for sure from Google Translate, but the number of cars and stages looks appealing. Hopefully, they'll strike a good balance with the handling. For us the fans, the more rally games the better. So if they manage to pull of a good job with the handling then it's only for our benefit :)

What I wonder though is why aren't Codies releasing any screenshots? Milestone's game is about 6 months away and I struggle to see how releasing these screens puts their game in jeopardy?

Codies won't be able to work with Loeb now, they can try and go after the cars they licenced, but since they're already licenced Codies would be at licence holder mercy anyway. In order to produce stages from Oz they need to have started already...

So my question is why not release anything Codies? I've seen what you have, I've played it and whatever you decide to show will only be impressive and loved by fans of your game...

This is very good looking at this point.  I noticed down to the dirt/dust on the tread, they are so close to photo-real.  I like the service area too.  It will be interesting to see this animated,  if they pull of some good motion capture, it could come out really well.

I am starting to feel like a trader  on Codies

Top down next gen game it is.

I'm frankly surprised Codies developed such a game, bearing in mind they have two large games in development and they wanted to be a racing game only studio.

Would such a game require a large team? Was it developed in Southam or maybe in Malta or Kuala Lumpur?

It's also supposed to come out on PS4 and XOne - will it be a boxed release? Dunno, but I play only a handful of non-racing games, so it's most likely a proposition I won't be interested in.

I'm selfish and I just hope that development of the Overlord game won't take away resources and cash from the DiRT ;];] ;)
My first thought is outside UK, but then Codie's employs 300+ people they all can't be working on F1 and we know the DiRT team is very small.

Looking at some of the credits in the DiRT games. It seems they source out some or all of the 3D modeling to KL and Malta (if I am putting some of the names to the country's correctly?)

Question that comes to my mind is roughly how many are employed at each location to make up the 300+ workforce?

This is was posted regarding the Overlord release, but it think we are the "original" Blind Apes!  Now where is my DiRTybanana?

I wonder who posts on behalf of that account - could it be @justbiglee ? Both exhibit similair traits of loving to torture people who are keen to hear some news :)

I'd be surprised if Codies released a console/PC Overlord game. They were supposed to focus on racing titles only, so I suspect this will be a game for mobiles.

Or... and here's a bit of crazy speculation - all this jazz about Overlord (tweets, news, even a produced video) is just a cover up so that a HUGE surprise announcement about the next DiRT game fools everyone! :D But people wouldn't despair, since a DiRT game will be coming out!  Wach out at 2pm!

Or... a mobile game will be released...
We can only hope, and the race title only company came to my mind as well

  9. Here are a couple of screenshots of what would be great to revisit that where in the old CM series (CM02 - CM-2005)

Service area between stages, you had the choice of how long repairs where going to take within the allotted service time.   Forget which title had the animated techs in the service area, which was a nice touch too.

I always loved this setup presentation

Celebration cerimonies have been lacking, kind of gratifying and realistic.

Maybe a interesteing idea: DiRT app for smarthpones/tablets (don't know if this was already mentioned)

It could be an nice extra, like seeing your statistics compared to you friends. But when you play the game together with a friend, he could for example be your co-driver with reading the pacenotes from a tablet. Maybe this gives an extra dimension to the game.
Also would be nice, if they didn't forget about Windows Phone (assuming, they even make such an app)

@justbiglee mentioned a website that will be hosting stats, and as long as its mobile friendly then we will have something similar to an app.  I don't know about pacenotes part.

    Here we go... Again...

    http://www.dsogaming.com/news/dirt-4-incoming-announcement-amd-adds-crossfire-profile-for-codemasters-racing-game/

    Edit: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=398388
Hmmm...interesting. Wasn't there a similar news regarding nVidia drivers for SLI? Would just anyone be able to contact AMD or nVidia and have them include information within their official update files? I guess people putting these configs together would verify if the information is legit.

Is this meant to be a driver for DiRT 3 CE instead of DiRT 4?

    @GentleNameMVB
This is probably legit.  This one was pretty obvious, but the Nvidia one needed to dig around config files (or similar) to find the reference.  I think this may just be communication with Nvidia/AMD based on internal Codies testing giving the manufactures feedback as weather it is working with the game.  Someone at AMD made an error and left this out with the driver update.

We all know its happening, more than likely this year.  Only a matter of time before its announced (we are almost 5 months into 2015) when it will be released is undecided probably.

F1:2015 will be great and exciting for F1 fans, but I think the race-sim world has been holding their breath for the next DiRT...  D3 is the benchmark game for all racing game and hardware tests.  DiRT4 being rumored for so long now really has built the hysteria even more.

Is Codies taking notes from Apple with leaks/hype?  I don't want a gold plated $10k watch, I just want an awesome rally game
