    F1 2013 - Random Pause Issue

I'm not seeing any conflicts but I think you are on the right track. I have done some more racing this weekend and it is still happening. But as soon as I unplug my keyboard, problem solved. I don't know if it helps anyone for future reference but my keyboard is the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Keyboard.

    F1 2013 - Random Pause Issue

Its just after 2:49, its at 2:52 specifically. As I said it simply pauses the game without notice. You say there is no harm done, but would you like your game to pause every other lap? It really dose affect your race. There's not a lot of point getting a better recording of the problem, there is really no consistency with it. I am not doing anything unusual, I'm just racing... and then a pause menu. No particular spots on the track, nothing. So the random pause issue is still happening, I thought that it might have been a service running in the background taking priority or something so the game would pause itself, like if you were to alt+tab the game would pause. I went into 'msconfig' disabled all services that weren't Microsoft. Tested, with no success. I noticed a couple of programs were still running even though I disabled them. I went into 'services.msc' forced the programs to stop running. Tested, with no success. So I think I can safely say its not a service running in the background that's the problem, unless its a Microsoft service. I tried another thing, I remember downloading a program called 'vJoy' (this was before I bought a 360 controller) in order to try and use my X1 controller to game with (the drivers weren't out yet). That was a bit of a fail due to the fact that the game is not compatible with the X1 controller anyway. But I thought maybe that was confusing the application somehow, but I un-installed the program and drivers anyway. Tested, with no success. Also, just to note, I'm playing in full-screen mode. Don't know if that makes a difference. So then I thought I'd try and see if it was the controller that was faulty, I unplugged it and used my keyboard instead. After about 30 mins, I didn't have a problem (other than my driving). But I still don't really understand why it's happening, its a new controller, and the drivers are up to date. I don't know why, but I also thought maybe if I plug my controller back in but unplug my keyboard something magical would happen. Seems as though it has, played for about 20 mins and no problems. So I don't know if somewhere along the line I fixed it or not, but I will update again if the issue persists.
  3. I'm having a very irritating problem in F1 2013 for PC. While racing (be it online or not) the game will bring up the pause menu in a completely inconsistent fashion. Sometimes I wont receive the issue at all in a race, but other times I have had the pause menu pop open once every lap or so. Obviously it is seriously frustrating and dose make a big impact on my racing and enjoyment of the game. Here is an example: (Sorry that it is a highlight video and I did only show it the once at 2:49, but it did happen at least 3 times in this race from what I remember)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq4sQjCHAi4#t=02m49s In this particular instance it didn't affect my race too much and honestly its not the best example of how frustrating this is and how much of an impact it really makes to my race. But unfortunately I don't have any other recordings of the issue (because I only record league races and I've only raced a couple thus far). I'm using an Xbox 360 wired controller (virtually brand new mind) into a UBS 2.0 port (used a UBS 3.0 port before and the problem seemed to be more persistent). I play many different games with the same controller and I've not had any issues. Naturally I would Google my problem and try and sort it out myself, but it seems as though I'm the only one having this problem. I have a clean CASHE and I've even re-installed the game twice, with no success. At first I thought it might have been the rumble in the controller making the start button make contact, but it has happened on straights a couple of times before. I literally have no idea what is happening and how I can fix this very irritating problem. PLEASE HELP! :'( EDIT: Ok, so I have a theory that my game is (for some reason) minimizing itself randomly/tabbing out, but not actually showing me its tabbing out? Trying to find a fix now.
