Edit: I just had the best stage made by Your Stage in Pro Tour.
Two cities in Spain, first one 5-6 corners blasting between buildings, second one with immediate turn right. I don't think even one tile repeated. Saved it <3
Now you can create your own pacenotes for it ;)

My PC still freezes until I have to manually restart my PC when I try and play a rain stage :( Has this bug been noticed yet by the devs?

Try Bonnet cam before fix, works for me. Skip replays on rainy stages also because they freeze the game too
Or you can set your Graphics Settings to Ultra Low. The issue disappears (with cockpit cam and full replay).
  3. Kris is Citroen's development driver and has given feedback on Dirt 4's rally handling. Given problems of both of these it seems that maybe (just maybe) he isn't that good of a rally driver after all ;)
OK, OK, it was only a joke, no need to throw rocks at me...
  4. Ok you devs are insane.

Halfway through a night stage and the headlights start flickering on and off. Then Nicky says something about fixing them next stage or whatever.
    Then they just go out!!
Oh! They're back on! Nope. Out again! ****!!

You're going to give someone a freakin' heart attack. >:)
  5. Ho hum, tried to pre-order PC Day One Edition from Gameseek but it keeps saying it's worth £0.00 and fails to process. That's for £30.98, I think shipping is extra too.

So I went to base.com, where's it's £30.99 with free shipping in UK. Win!
Will you get it by 9th of June (or 11th at least) to be able to participate in the special i20R5 event?

Count me in for the weekend Rally Cross event @TURBODEVIN19 , I think we're friended on Steam so just let me know when and where.
    Same here :)
Awesome, should I make a separate thread to 'organise' it or will being online on Steam and some chat messages be enough?
Tonight I'll be at a local rally with @ThierryNeuville, but tomorrow and on Sunday I'll probably be at home. (GMT +1 / Dutch)
I'm in CEST summer time so its UTC + 2.
Let's create a chatroom on Steam and that will be enough. How many slots are in the event anyway? I wasn't really playing multiplayer Rally Cross a lot and can't remember, to be honest.
Just checked it because I wasn't sure, it's 8 slots.

So we need 5 more steam friends and we're good to go :) Full steam ahead!

So apparently Polish distributor hired a professional dubbing actor Jacek Kopczynski to record Polish co-driver calls. I know he is known from games like Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect and The Witcher, but why?

Once I've heard that voice I've known I know it from somewhere and it's an actor. Where did you find out?

One of our friends at simrace.pl posted this information (I don't know how he knows or where from, but the voice seems to match somehow). I wasn't aware he recorded for previous Dirt games as well. Here is his quite impressive list of achievements:

I'm so grateful that we will be able to switch to Original English Co-Driver. That Polish codriver is terrible. It's an actor or something, not someone with a co-driving experience.

"wybój" they've translated a "bump" completely literally. I don't think anyone uses this word to describe a road in pace notes ;)
It also seems more robotic than in original co-driver language.
Can't wait to hear Nicky Grist in my headphones, will miss @KickUp though ;)

I'm wondering how the co-driver is implemented with YS. Can't wait to take a peek into files - curious if it will be something moddable.

I hope it wasn't anyone from rallying community because they would give themselves a bad name after this.
Now that the co-driver calls are being put together from set of samples it might be easier to mod them than it was the case in DR (I managed to do that a while ago. But because it would take ages to translate and swap all of  Paul's recorded calls I gave up and came up with a different idea how to achieve customized co-driver calls).

On a more "on-topic" note (that's heresy here, I know), I don't like the whole "Fearless" thing. That is for me one massive BS. There's no such thing as not feeling fear. It's how our brains work, it's a part of us humans that we can't remove. The important part is to not let that fear influence our decisions in a wrong way. You should in fact try and control your own fear so that you can take advantage of it and know better where the limits are.

I have to agree but also disagree with you here. The term fearless is a bit of a misnomer, all people feel fear in dangerous situations unless they are insane. But what it often refers to is bravery or perhaps supreme courage despite adversity. So in the world of marketing, fearless just sounds a lot better! Big games that cost a lot of money to make need marketing and they have to create something to sell the brand and the product and spark folks imagination and get them excited.

I personaly think that 'fearless' works very well for a Rally game and is very appropriate to the sport. Because to me Rally (not Rally Cross) drivers are the bravest in all motor sport, as they deal with the harshest of roads and conditions and every time they get into the car they step into the 'unknown' more than an circuit driver ever has to. To do what they do at the highest level, to me is quite extraordinary, because they have to be very brave, very skilled, very determined and also a little bit mental!

Are we fearless when we are playing a game? Not really, but it speaks of the mentality and commitment that even the 'player' needs to get the most fun out of a game like this and so I think they did a good job with the approach that they have taken. The word fearless in english conjurs up these kinds of thoughts and ideas of heroic acts or endeavors that we all seem to admire and most of us wish we had the plumbs to do  :p

After all, games are usually about being the hero ;)

    Hence this...

What about 'Be Brave' then? Nice touch to Paul Coleman's DiRT Rally pacenote call at the same time ;)

I love how you can read breaking (literally) news of the event in the service park, it will really enhance the immersion!

It was done in Richard Burns Rally back in 2004 but nice to see good ideas being implemented in D4 (flying finish, etc.).
