  1. I have no problem with that, and I understand that not everyone is looking for that type of driving. I myself played fair bit of Grid 2, and never said it was terrible game. But saying it is more realistic is just plainly lying. There are people that will prefer Grid 2 to Grid AS as there are people that would prefer Burnout paradise(another fun game, espetially with controller. Less so with the wheel) to any of the Grid games. I personally am a fun of simracing (I am playing iRacing for proper sim gameplay) And this installment of Grid series is the best for me. With proper handling and racing methods and finally qualifying and practise sessions. Nice long races and good visuals. A lot of fun for me. Enought to say i logged 26 hours of gameplay in less than 3 days :)

    To add to the radio I don't need to hear "we really need great finish to get o good race on second lap out of 18. and than each subsequent one. Just give me a lap, and a split to guy in front/behind.

    To clean racers.

    Rear ending is hitting someone in the rear. If someone in front of you brakes earlier than you than you should be on the inside outbreaking him :) If you hit him at hight speed difference, than you propably had time to react, and should try to avoid that. If you just bump him, and you both break and make the turn it is just racing incident. Thats my opinion anyway. Either way you should avoid driving into rear of others. There is no benefit in that. You won't pass them unless you wreck them and that is not how you want to race.

    GRID Autosport = Best AI ever

    I wouldn't say worst ever. In my opinion team Kicker and Ravenwest need toning down so they won't divebomb you if they are 50 meters behind going into turn. Other than that AI is quite aggrresive, but it is fine. As you will sometimes missjudge a breaking point or turn in, AI can bump your side or rear. If you will go cosiderably slow on a racing line or worse you will weave across the road, they will hit you. They won't stop for the player to get up to speed after a spin. They will try to pass you. If you go slower than them they will try to pass you.  AI makes more realistic mistakes here than in Grid 1 for example. In Grid 1 AI was driving on its line lap after lap, unless it was supposed to make a mistake, which meant full blown spinout and offtrack. It also was extremely res[pctfull for the player, to the point if you spun it would hapilly wait for you to get back on track. Here AI still can get offtrack, but most AI mistakes mean slide at the exit of the turn or too fast corner entry leading to slower outside line. Much harder to pass, much more fun to race. Just stop them from piling into side of your car when they do 50km/h too much on the extremely shalow line.
  5. Are you kidding me? You watched too much Tokio Drift. If you said Grid 2 was more fun I would leave it to your opinion. But saying that Grid 2 was realistic is plain lie. Back on topic. I really like this game for that it encoureges and rewards proper driving techinque, You need to pick good line and breaking point in order to be fast. Also we got th best thing CM could do! We finally have way to pic race lenght from normal trought x2, x3 up to x5 times. That means that normally 8 minuts endurance race can became real endurance at x5. 4 lap races became 12 or 20. That allows to pick proper difficulty. No longer we have to pass 12 cars in 3 laps.We also got practise and qualiffying so that 1. No longer you hop from car to car and pray throught the first 3 corners while you try to get a feel for a car and a track. In general I have few complains about AI (sometiimes divebombs and smashes you for no reason), Some imptovements in the UI would also be good (you can accidentaly start a race before you did qually and practise and ruin your championshop. But other than that FOR ME this is better thatn Grid 1, Grid 2, Shift, Shift 2. Or anyother simarcade racing game. Of course in terms of realism it is far from iRacing, Asseto Corsa, Project Cars or rFactor. But in terms of sheer racing fun it is great. Unless you think Grid 2 was realistic. than you will have a bad time.

    Gearbox has no damage indicator, but if you ask your engineer it will tell you it is damaged. Maybe you just downshift to early (as i tend to do :) ). Or it is genuin bug, hard to tell.

    I dropped it from 400 to 360 lately when I moved on to Endurance and Aston Martin. It is car and class specific. Luckily you can just minimise, change your setting and alt + Enter the game to full screen :)

    Feedback of AI in Grid Autosport

    I have nothing against ocasional contact, especially in the touring car series. What is wrong thou are massive divebombs by Team Kicker and team Ravenwest. They play destruction derby. Take lines that thay cannot make pass to the point they will hit side of your car and slow down on you. That is utterly unrealistic and such things should stay withing Need for Speed series, And I am not even talking about Shift series, but about Burnout Paradise copies EA pushes out lately. There is difference between agressive driving, and just dumb crashing into others in the turn. From three videos shown in this thread the first shows dumb divebomb. If you hit SIDE of a car in the turn, it is only your faul. Team Kicker there just divebombed other AI and smashed right into driver doors... If there was no car there he would go straight trought the turn and onto gravel trap. You cannot use other cars as your private break assist! That propably be black flag in any real race, with reprimend or suspention from race controll. You just can't do that! Even in touring class races. Other two show AI just going for their usual track when they don't have to. What I said earlier. You cannot race two wide trought the corner with the AI. If you are side by side, but didn't passed them yet, (and I don't mean you try to push your nose in, but are really side by side) they will go for the apex regardless that you are there and smash into the side of you. Especially in fast turns.

    One major complaint about the tracks...

    To all the people suggesting passing them:What about XP for those races? What about general season ranking? To progress trought the game you need those things! Thats why we are asking for an option. So we can still get all the Xp, races, and be happy with 1st place in a championship without having to run the content we don't enjoy.  And I am now even that against reversed (althou Mount Panorama in reverse... This is my favourite track, I don't want to run it wrong way around. It feels wrong). I simply don't like people with the altitude: "If you don't like it than GTFO". We are asking for an option, not taking anything out of your enjoyment, and you are telling us to give up on an important part of the game. (getting good results in the chempionships, and progressing in the career mode)
  10. Endurance is awesome at x3 (makes race quite long thou) but i just finished a race at 13th (very hard) but last few laps were soooo intense. I was struggling to keep greap on high speed corner and putting power down after slow ones was really difficult. No traction controll and decent wheel makes for an awesome experience :) but we are rifting off topic here:)
  11. I agree. Right now if AI decides it will take your place when you are two wide, you can either break or run parallel on the grass hoping you won't get slow down panlety. AI can seem to be on rails sometimes. Fortunatelly it is only team Kicker and team Ravenwest who just bully their way up. I moved to very hard AI and am now running 6-8 where racing is much cleaner. My team has exactly such objectives so I am ok with that.

    Actually Grid 2 was bad. You were supposed to dive into a corner full speed and once you turned your car sideways you slowed down and made the corner. In reall life you would fly trought a corner and crash terribly every single time. Grid Autosport is much more realistic in that you have to break BEFORE the corner. You slow down pass the apex and then put the power down on the trackout. Thats how racing works. I suggest you stay behind AI for a lap and don't try to race. Also try doing practise before racing on unknown tracks. Look for boards with numbers. These show distance to the turn. You should start breaking at between 150 and 100 meters before most slower corners. Try to learn the tracks and remember breaking points. If you are playing with manual gearbox you also are learning gears for corners.  Only after you can comfortably go trought every corner on the track you should try to shave of time by trying later breaking point, different racing lines, turn in points, later apex. Driving on the outside when passing, cutunder opponent car. There are so many decisions to make during the race.  Grid 2 was arcade game that happened to have cars in it. It was ok to have fun, you could drift your way trought every corner. Grid Autosport , while still not simulation, requires and rewards proper racing techniques. No longer drifting is fast. If you wan't to be quick, you should counter the slides as soon as possible. Try to always operate within your tires limit.

    Team Radio function needs a minor change.

    I have much bigger issues with the team chat. It is greeat idea, but terrible execusion. You can ask your engineer where is your teammate or your rival, but instead of possition and split you will hear: "Your teammate is currently i the middle of the pack" I passed start finish line at 6th possition:"You are curently in the middle of the pack" I asked where my rival was:"Your rival is in the middle of the pack" I looked at the second monitor: he was 10th Right now this functionality is basicly useless since often you wont even get information if your rival is in front of, or behind you:/ I simply stopped using it, Maybe in the patch, but i doubt it since it would require new voices to be recorded, so a studio would need to be rented, lector rehired (unless he is on Codies payroll) Shame really.
  14. I have second monitor with 400x400 broadcast renderend realtime. I am preaty sure that engine could handle rendering 200x150 pixel realtime dashboard.
  15. Most of the AI is fine. While being quite agressive they will not ram you out of the way (most of the time). Exept for team Ravenwest. They are plain assholes, both towards AI and player. Divebombing 3 cars to bounce off the one at the apex breaking on them, sending them off the track and carrying on like nothing happened. They are driving like buldozers. I am playing on high difficulty and with race lenght x3 so after first few corners where AI just piles up one into another in the first few corner it gets better on the second lap onward. When I was playing second races in touring class I would go nicely and mostly cleenly to lets say second possition, fighting for the lead, trying to set up passing oportunity. And ther cams McKane, or Arron Westley (Wresley) Shove both you AND the car you are racing with sliding and off to the distance,,, I was running consistently second or third because of them with fourth place far behind.

    G27 Profiler:Overal effects 100%rest: 0% Degress of rotation: 404 (I highly recomend 400 degres of rotation! It is a setting that is on rally cars and i think it is great in track racing games. Obviously for open wheel i would tone it down to about 220. But what 400 does for touring cars and endurance racing is allows you to feel car much better and lets front tires operate at optimal angles. When you turn front tires too much they won't have enought traction to turn so they essentially slide. You are still turning but have much less controll and you are wearing your tires much faster. Basicly if you hear your tires screeching every corner, you are turning way too much. I very rarely go anywhere near steering lock taking both fast, full throttle turns and hairpins with less then 100 degrees on my wheel! Most of the time keeping it withing 50 degress. Only time I am getting to the lock is when countersteering massive slides. In gameVibration Strenght: 40Wheel Strenght: 70Wheel weight 10-20 (still deciding) Original settings made my G27 quite heavy to the point it was close to real car. I didn't even know that G27 was capable of such strong feedback :) But i preffer to feel trought the weel what my car is doing and you can't realy do that if your wheel motors are operating at full strenght. It basicly clips feedback information so I have it quite low.  BTW it is still heavy enought that my left arm is sore after whole day session :)

    But except for the divebombing and team Ravenwest being utter assholes on the road. (I think in real life, they would be banned from racing after the stunts they pull on the circuit on the constant basis), this game is a blast, and after cars spreadout the game stops being demolition derby and you can have great time racing AI. ( Espetially that you can set races to be x2, x3 or x5 times long and you can set some proper difficulty, You are no longer required to pass 10 guys in 2 laps.) In previous games it was stupid how player was starting at the end and had to push trought the field to get decent result. While fun for few races it gets really taxing and yuo just ended up lowering difficulty and divebombing in first few corners. Allowing us to change race lenght and giving us practise and qually was best move by Codies! I will not go back to NFS Shift 2, nor previous Grids, It was my biggest problem with Grid 1. No qually= you started at the back. Different cars all the time, you had no idea how the car will handle untill the first few corners.

    Feedback of AI in Grid Autosport

    For me AI is way too agressive sometimes. Many times I was positioned nicely in the pack, One behind another we enter a curve and freaking McKane or Westley, (or how i call him Wresley) wil divebomb 3 cars, and ram you full speed while you are at the apex... I moved from touring class to endurance and same diveboms all the time, AI goes to the inside, i leave it space so we exit two wide, same speed, I have racing line and inside line towards next corner. AI just diregards my existens, moves over to the raicing line pushing me out on the kerb and further like a freaking locomotive. And most often than not it is not a nudge. The slam you like in Flatout or burnout paradise... Great in x3 endurance races.
