Yeah, missing Walcott too. Seriously, England are one of the most unlucky teams in football. -
Yeah I know. Really hope Oxlade-Chamberlain is ok, played great yesterday and is the player England need IMO. -
Anything can happen. Look at Brazil 1950, the Brazilians were so humiliated by their loss to Uruguay they call it their Hiroshima. Greece at Euro 2004 too. -
To be fair though, the reason England haven't won more is because we don't work as a team. If we did, those people like Rooney, Sturridge, Lallana and Gerrard all linking up would be deadly. -
Apply some cold water to that burn @JordieDAFC -
Sorry, how many World Cups do Scotland have? ;)jordieDAFC said:
I love how that's the only comebacks you guys have to us :))AMS97KRR said:@JordieDAFC this is a friendly to be fair, and an experimental team. Still better than Scotland ;)
A whole 1 goal better than us :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) -
I think we can win all 3 to be honest. Uruguay have an awesome attack and a good centre back in Godin, but other than that, not much.Italy are good, no doubt they will be tough, could go either way though. As I said though, England have lacked that Ronaldo (Brazil), that Baggio, Pele, Eusebio or anyone like that at major tournaments to carry us somewhat. At Euro 2012, Welbeck missed 2 or 3 chances that I think Sturridge or a Manchester United Rooney would have scored. Our midfield is strong, Barkley, Lallana, Wilshere, Gerrard, Sterling, Ox - how many teams would kill for a midfield talent pool like that?To be honest If I had to choose a winner out right, I'd say Brazil because I don't think we'll get lucky enough to avoid South American teams or Spain until the final. But I do think that Euro 2016 and Russia 2018 we have a real chance. Our young talent will be in their peak or reaching it by 2018 and other young Englishmen that are not present in Brazil will break through.Steven Hawking already says, if it is cold, we stand a better chance, well France and Russia will be perfect.Oh and Italy just drew to Luxembourg. HA! -

I'm feeling really good about the WC. Barkley, Lallana, Sterling, Ox and Sturridge can all beat players well and all look really good.I just done the EA competition prediction game to win real prizes, the way I predicted it, England had to play:Greece (Ro16)Netherlands (QF)Portugal (SF)Germany (F)Honestly, looking at previous tournaments, Italy beat Germany in Euro 2012 and I reckon we can beat Italy this time around with a better, more organised team that Roy has had time to work with. If we only play European teams, IMO it is anyone's game, whoever can cope with the heat might prevail. This relies heavily on Germany beating Brazil and Portugal beating Argentina, which I think they both can as they are stronger all round IMO.I think England have better individuals than both Portugal and Netherlands in most positions. It is just that really world class player we've sorely lacked at the WC. The Dutch have Robben and RVP, Portugal have Ronaldo and Germany have Neuer, Gotze and Reus. Not to mention the fact that the Dutch are missing a key man in Strootman and the Germans are missing Gundogan. If we for once performed as a team, with a bit of luck I don't think it is impossible, depending on who we have to play. If we avoid South Americans and have the right set up, why not? I don't see the point in England aiming for the Quarters or Semi's, you have to aim to win.But we need a striker to carry us sometimes, I don't care who, we need someone hitting in 4-6 goals on their own and then others can chip in. -
Nice goal by Lambert there. England have lacked a striker to carry them at WC's recently, maybe with Sturridge, Rooney and Lambert we can find one. -
Haha yeah.I know this doesn't include the Republic of Ireland, but it'd be cool if all the home nations (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) made one team. Players like Best, Giggs, Law, Bale and now Ramsey are wasted and never appear at big tournaments despite being top players. It'd be mainly England, but Bale and Ramsey would certainly be in there. -
Not really a good game to be honest is it, no one is trying to hard, everyone is trying to avoid injury :pSILVERARR0WS said:

Rooney scores, scrappy goal. -

A spiritual injury? -

Games are somewhat psychological because like you said, whenever you get annoyed you are so busy finding things to moan about, you don't play well, which makes you angrier. CoD has the same effect as FIFA in that sense.I also find sometimes, when I have 3 or 4 awesome matches on CoD, I relax to much and don't do so well.I get angry pretty quickly with FIFA, although sometimes it is justified, like when I'd had enough yesterday after a free-kick was given that was never a free kick. He scored from it and I just turned my PS4 off. People get angry with real life games when things like that happen, so that is pretty justifiable IMO.I just played another tournament and because of how the group stages work online, you might play, for example, Player 2, Player 3 and Player 4, but then Player 2 might play Player 5, 6 and 1 (1 being me). So earlier, having won 2/3 games in the groups, I went out, when in reality, that is unlikely, especially given my goal difference was about 3. The guy who got all 9 points would have beaten the other two. -
I really hope United get some deals done soon -
I just had the best run in FUT WC yet.I figured that every time I lost in the knock outs that the person who beat me was always leaving his defenders back and hitting me on the counter, in other words, parking the bus. So I decided next time, I'd do the same thing. (Through my rage I didn't think about what tactics they were using, I was just mad bro).Well I won my group, scoring about 11 goals in total over the 3 games. Got to the knock outs, won again convincingly. In the Quarter-finals I won again. I was almost surprised I hadn't gotten knocked out, but Remy and Mandzukic were just to good. Then I won my Semi-Final and got the final. In the final I came up against an 86 rated, 100 chem team (Mine is 82 rated, 100 chem) and he had +10 attribute cards on every player (A couple of them only had +6). He went 2-0 up, then after half time I pulled it back to 2-2, it went to extra time and with 5 minutes to go, he scored a header with Robben of all people. Couldn't believe it. I did save 2 penalties in that game to keep myself in it. Was a very even game, both had about 11 shots on target, 49/51% possession.I've now learnt that as long as you have pace, parking the bus on the FUT WC is the best way to win. I'm pretty sure that EA have no idea how to match make though, I should not have had to play him, an 81-83 rated team would have made for a better match up. He did get lucky though, it should have gone to penalties, which I'm confident I could have won.Whether it was a one off or not, I'll have to see. Funnily enough that was my 13th tournament, doomed from the start. -
FUT WC Rant:This FUT WC is unbelievable....I slide tackle in front of someone so they run into me and give me the ball and apparently that's a foul. He gets a free kick and scores, I literally just turned off my PS4, first time I've rage quit a game of FIFA. I'm so sick of this WC mode, in seasons I have a decent record but on this I've lost more games than I've won. My defense has Kompany, Sokratis, Coentrao and Walker and it is protected in CDM by Denisov and Javi Garcia and apparently I'm conceding 4-5 goals a game! HOW!!?!?!I'm fuming, I literally going to unintentionally smash my TV soon, this game is unbelievable, total load of stupidity and completely unfair. I'll have a game like this one earlier where I lost 5-3. I had 11 shots on target and he had 6 on target. How does that add up? It just doesn't. I mean I have Fabregas. Mandzukic, Gotze and Rackatic (however you spell his name) having these shots, surely I should be scoring more than 3 out of 11 if he gets 5 out of 6?I went undefeated through a group stage on my first attempt and then lost to a 49 chem team 4-1, HOW EA? I've literally never been annoyed by something so insignificant before. I've scored the first two goals of my last 5 games and lost like 3/5 of them. Something doesn't add up, how can I concede 2 90th minute goals? One minute, I'm through to the knockouts and the next I'm out at the group stage....And not to mention the people who watch all the replays...I mean I am not great at tournament football, but this is a joke. I have a good team but nothing works for me. I can go into half time 3 or 4 nil up and still fear losing. Like earlier, I score a goal in the first 3 minutes, he tries the kick off glitch and it goes right over my keeper and he scores from his own half. It's not fair, he doesn't deserve that just because my keeper came off his line without my permission. I score like 3-4 goals a game and still lose because of some ridiculous goal from 30 yards out or earlier, and own goal where my player lobbed it high in the air towards my goal at a stupidly tight angle, and Akinfeev just stood there and it went in. Like he was near the corner flag, it was a joke, even I laughed at that one it was just so stupid, I wish it was on camera.Rant over. -
WTF!!!!! 2 90th minute goals to go from winning 3-2 to losing 4-3......Totally not fixed.....GG EA, GG. -
I've been playing the FUT World cup, get through the groups without losing, then in the knock outs I come up against a starter pack team with less than 70 chemistry and lost like 4-1 or something. Very frustrating, didn't deserve to go out, totally fixed.SILVERARR0WS said:
Tried again , knocked out in the quarter finals AGAIN.SILVERARR0WS said:I've tried to win the World Cup about 10 or 11 times , either using Brasil or Spain. Knocked out in the quarter final EVERY SINGLE TIME. Really strange one. -
Shame, he was one of my favorite players. I remember watching him at Euro 2008, got top scorer, really good back then. -
One of the best achievements in recent times for the manager. They did knock Russia out of Euro 2012 pretty unexpectedly. I was in Cyprus at the time and everyone was going crazy for Greece.Tommig1995 said:Euro 2004 champions out of nowhere, may I remind you. Not sure what they've done since.Colombia being seeded really surprised me, because I don't remember them being at a world cup in my memory (they may have been at 2002, I only remember the England v Brazil from that one). Ivory Coast I expect to qualify.
