    How to disable rubber banding

Rubberbanding does only affect the AI, yeah. That's why there's usually some confusion between the use of the terms 'rubber-banding' and 'catchup'. Rubber-banding from my experience is generally used towards modifying the characteristics of the AI to keep them on-par with the player, whether by making them slower when ahead, making them crash, etc etc. Catchup, from my experience, is generally used towards modifying characteristics that affect the player - such as giving them better weapons when behind (Mario Kart) or by altering their characteristics (more grip in racing games such as Daytona and Playstation games like Rollcage). I generally prefer Catchup over rubber-banding because catchup tends to be a fairer mechanic that affects everybody in a race. Example - Rollcage used catchup, which would give cars further back a speed/grip boost depending on position/distance from first. It affects the player car as well as the opponent cars and could be turned off. In the end they all do the same sort of thing though - try and keep everybody close.

    Upgrades........don't do anything.

Upgrades do work. I ran an oval race on Indy using the BMW TC. Top speed without upgrades on at stock was about 157/158mph, but with all upgrades on was about 161/162mph. I also ran a few practice laps on Istanbul Intermediate in the Cruze TC and my best lap with the same tuning but no upgrades was 1.29.5 but with all upgrades I managed a 1.28.8.

    PLZ FIX K&N Motorsport

I've had more offers from K&N than I have Forge and Kicker, so I don't know what the problem is. :/

Corrupt Save Files - Fix Incoming!

It's supposed to fix the corrupted saves. But ... that's IF we ever get the patch...

Corrupt Save Files - Fix Incoming!

I've got that little faith in the patch coming out any time soon that I've gone and made a bet with a few of my friends. People that know me know that I hate Activision. But, I've told them that if the patch comes out next week, -and- works as it's meant to, for consoles, I'm going to buy Destiny. ... Yeah. I know it has nothing to do with Codemasters. Bets are bets.

    LMAO Why?  Because it's playable.

I Just Want To Say Thanks....

A lot of old Playstation and Playstation 2 games I own are pretty much bug-free. The only ones I've found on many are ones I found deliberately (such as a crazy graphics/slowdown glitch on ridge racer revolution that was more due to a scratched disk). Rollcage afaik has absolutely no bugs, at least none I've come across. No physics oddities, no save corruptions. Hell, GTA4 was horrible at release but at least it was performance issues :/

Corrupt Save Files - Fix Incoming!

People on my friends list are going back to Grid 2. XD.

    Apparently it is your fault.

They both complained at each other about the same things, yes, but when push came to shove they knew they couldn't run each other off the track like people do on video games. They didn't like it but they knew when to concede, which is what a lot of people online need to learn to do. :-)

    Where is K&N Motorsport?

I've found them from tier 2 races (mid-season) onwards. They tend to be medium or high-tune so it's probable that you might have to redo some events several times. You might have more luck in Tuner, they showed up twice for me there. They showed up for a formula B series too.

^ when I made my analogy about two drivers going around a corner I actually had that exact race in mind. Vettel and Alonso's race was a classic and proof of two drivers going at it but not once trying to run each other off the track. I wish more people on racing games had that sort of respect. Oh well. :-)

    Apparently it is your fault.

^ I think the matter regarding the 'right' or 'wrong' racing line is generally seen as whoever is in front. If the outside driver is in front I'm pretty sure the inside driver has no right to run them off the road but if the inside driver is ahead then the outside driver usually has to concede as the inside driver has 'right of way' ... of course, excluding collisions because those should be avoided at all costs. Still, inside or out I won't deliberately run someone off the track if I'm ahead of them and I tend to at the least try to concede enough track as to give them enough space at the corner exit. Whether that means they exit faster and then pull ahead or not really doesn't matter, just so long as it's all fair.

    British car pack

@Loore‌ http://i59.tinypic.com/25ana5l.png Also if the garage pack is for season pass only how does this affect people on 360 since there is no season pass?

You reminded me of some American guy who went off his rocker in a touring car lobby because he 'couldn't get a clean race, and it's always the Brits, always the Brits'. I didn't say anything until he started dropping N bombs, at which point I asked him to shut up and go find a different lobby if he was getting that agitated and he lost his crap on me and told me he was going to wreck the crap out of me. It was so funny because I realised he was having a Boondocks N-bomb moment, I said this out loud in the lobby, and then played that scene from The Boondocks. You know. That scene. Everyone else in the lobby laughed their asses off. This guy went completely silent, tried taking me out at the start, failed, wrecked his car trying to catch back up, retired and left. It was glorious. I know that generally I don't deliberately instigate things like this but when people like that flip their lids it's just the funniest thing you could ever hear over a headset.

    How to disable rubber banding

It takes 10 laps to get from 16th to 1st? damn. That's how it should have been to begin with. What sorts of lap times are the AI doing on average, comparing with catchup on and off? from what I remembered they'd get into the 1.29's on Istanbul Intermediate circuit (my best lap is 1.28.8 in a Cruze.) Are they still setting the same sorts of lap times? Do they still have the 'unfair acceleration' advantage or do they accelerate at the proper pace of the player cars? I don't care if they end up slower overall, so long as they follow the same physics as my car. I'd happily enjoy a 20-lap 'start from 12th' race where it'd take me the whole race to fight to 4th even if I'd easily win from 1st.

    British car pack

I just found out I can't even buy the Season Pass on PC, so there's that. Not that I would buy the Season Pass, unless the cars, tracks and such are integrated into single player properly. If the F1 GT3 doesn't show up as a Group 1 endurance car in career then stuff it. :L

    Apparently it is your fault.

I've raced with Blink loads of times on Grid 2 and GAS, he defends his line as he's entitled to but he's never stopped me going past him if I've been going faster. I've never really felt he's deliberately been holding me up. Fair's fair as far as it matters to me. Bloody quick in a 4C too. ;-)
  18. It's Grid 1, although I'm confused as to how a Honda is in a touring car race. I find that 'double left' before the downhill-S section to be doable at or close to full-throttle though, even in the V8 supercars (which people said is doable but difficult). Although yes, this argument of how much difference a confident driver's skill makes is exactly why I don't play PC online because it ends up blurring the line between who's just very good and who's using a grip/acceleration hack...

    How to disable rubber banding

Well, so long as it works I can deal with 'turning off' saving if I want to have a bit of a play-around in Custom Cup.

    How to disable rubber banding

Yeah, it's not horrific but it's there, both ways (they catch up to you, but also slow down when ahead so you catch up to them). Didn't actually know it was possible to stop the catchup though, I'll try this out later on. If it makes them accelerate at proper speeds then I'll be a happy monkey for certain and if they do the same sorts of times without catchup as -with- it? then that'll just be the icing on the cake.

    Apparently it is your fault.

If the 80-90% of the people that insist on ramming and smashing everyone could learn when their racing is drawing the line and when the occasional bump or accidental bump can be tolerated, we'd all be happier people... That's just the problem. I can take a few knocks and some paint-trading. So long as it's not deliberate and I'm not shoved off the track, I'm fine. It's just that people don't want to learn to back off, and as a result they either just decide that everyone else is a chicane to be used to get round corners, or the smallest of bumps throw them over the edge and they swear red to wrecking the hell out of whoever had the audacity to scratch their perfect red/green/pink clown-car livery. My whole mantra of 'three strikes' works wonders for me, at least. I give everyone the chance, but only twice. The third deliberate shunt or ram and I'm going to start dishing it back, and it seems that these whack-happy kids love giving it out but don't want to take it back. :) I'm just hoping that when this save corruption/garage bug patch finally comes out, the drivers that I know will never go beyond the occasional nudge will still be playing ... I'd rather have a close, clean race and come 5th than win because everyone else keeps smashing each other up. That's the mentality of Ye Average Xboxe Player these days, sadly. -edit- I will admit though that when it comes to playing online, I'm immediately suspicious of two particular countries - and 99% of the time I'm always right. ;-)

    Apparently it is your fault.

Same as real driving really. If people are insulated by big boxes of metal they will shout abuse that they would never dare face to face with someone. When competing on line there are even less cues for you to come to terms with the fact that you are racing with real people. This is why text chat and communication methods are so important. The solution to this is as many people have said before. Find the type of people you want to race with and race with them only. Devs should make sure tools are in place in on line play to help make this process happen. That's what the impact rating system is for but it doesn't work. I always come across tons of white-icon players that are complete and utter tools - and have white icons simply because they've hit so many people that everyone left the lobby and they start first or second. I'm looking at you, SHEZZAN. o.ó

I love noobs. They're so funny. Coming up with every excuse they can to beat someone but unable to take it themselves.

Or maybe I do have it on PC. >_> I think the prevalence of the cheaters on PC speaks enough about why I don't play online on the PC version. Also, all my friends are on 360. I do own the PC version. I play it with my G27 but this corrupted-save issue has irritated me too much to bother playing. I don't know what difference there is. I just bought it because it was recommended by a friend as I needed a good gaming monitor with audio output.

No corruption-fix patch, no DLC purchase. I'm sorry, but what good is buying this DLC if I can't even bloody use it...
