I've been binge watching Hoonigan's YT channel recently and Rhys Millen does a great job at explaining the corner numbers in rallying for anyone interested (time stamp embedded) :

I did feel that Gymkhana 10 was a bit of a letdown, not really sure why though. I think its because they've pushed the boat out more stunt wise each time but this one was a little more reserved. Possibly due to the multiple locations but I did feel that watching the series first then Gym10 again was better. The Focus definitely seemed to lumber around in comparison to the smaller wheelbase of the other cars, one of the best looking though in my opinion.

I watched The Gymkhana Files over the weekend and it was heartbreaking watching Ken having to tell Bakkerud that the Hoonigan RX team was no more. You could tell how much he loved it by how upset he was.
Man that was one hell of a docuseries, would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Yeah me too, I guess its easier to access for most people though as its in front of them and a lot of people use it anyway. I just forget its there half the time lol.

I did wonder, I don't use Discord all that often especially that chat which has so many people and moves so fast

Seems like the consequence of having a designer rather than an engineer put the render of the car together to me...
This video is great! I'm also apparently the 10,000th viewer which is quite satisfying lol

His liveries are very out there and most would say obnoxious but I just love them. Whoever the graphic designer is does a fantastic job

But, this movie made me fall in love with his project. He is so passionate.
Well, I know, you can show what you want in a movie. But I have the feeling that we saw a real human behind the Ken Block star.
I look forward to see what's coming this afternoon.
Ken has come across as a humble dude, he's never been a guy who tries too hard or thinks he's a great driver. He's a guy who's earn't his money and is enjoying his passion, something 99% of us could only dream of. He gets hated on by jealous internet trolls with nothing better to do.
Fun fact, when I went to watch the World RX Championship at Lydden Hill and he wasn't racing at the time, I saw Ken standing on his own next to the track for quite some time just watching the racing. I didn't see any other drivers around doing the same, maybe for other reasons but he just looked like he was enjoying himself.

7 minutes ago, tbtstt said:Yeah, it got mentioned in his "Gymkhana Files" series and he discusses the crash in the video that accompanied the image I posted. Apparently it was the fault of the (rather rare) gearbox.
I wonder if this is his third EscCos, or if the "art car" (in the background of the photo) was used for this.
Shame he didn't bring another Group A car back to the stages, but the blend of the old and new sounds awesome on paper!I've still not watched that, keep meaning to! Who knows. as much as I think his car looks dope, I hope they aren't "bastardising" too many originals. I don't even know how many are still in the wild lol

Off topic, but has anyone seen the latest news from Ken Block?

90's Group A meets modern WRC. I can't wait to see what this looks like! He's already had one but crashed it and it burnt to a crisp:

Don't believe anything anyone says about stuff like this unless they can back it up with a source, I'm including myself in this.
I heard we are going to be getting an open world Wales instead of dedicated stages plus PSVR support tomorrow.

Just now, MarcoMaas said:Hence single player online only = bad design.
But lets agree it's not only the racenet connectivity (which is rather stable and fast today) that is a problem. Lacking FFB effects, sound cutting away, wheel synchronisation .... Quite a number of big issues really.
None of that is game-breaking, myself along with plenty of others are still enjoying ourselves with what is on the whole a very good game.

1 hour ago, MTOJay said:i really think it depends.
i agree, cut them some slack in certain situations. for example if the multiplayer encounters a problem here and there. thats somewhat expected.
but if the player wants to play the single player career of a 60$ game and they cant properly because the developer thought it would be a good idea to make the single player career an always online mode, then its completely fair to give it a bad review. if you are running your single player career and the game resets certain parts or doesnt accept your time after a clean run for whatever reason then a bad review is completely reasonable - because it can and will destroy the experience for many who were not aware this would be the case. if you get yourself a 60$ triple a game its completely reasonable to expect a working single player career from the very beginnning. there are no excuses.
In this case, I would expect every single one of those bad reviews to be turned into positive reviews once they fix the issue. I guarantee however that will not happen and this will reflect unfairly on the game.

On 2/23/2019 at 9:32 AM, RodgerDavies said:I respect you a lot and agree with the majority of your posts but I see differently to you here.
Codemasters chose to allow 4 days early access (a decision I really don't like) for customers who paid more, so having a system that hasn't been robust enough to cope with these users for this short time isn't fulfilling their end of that deal. It's not fair to say "well, it was available for some time within those 4 days" because it wasn't advertised that you would be subject to Racenet's availability.
For the wider issue of Racenet in general, I know it was also used in DR1 but IIRC it held on to times and didn't post until you had a connection in career mode. Even if that was subject to cheating, allowing people to play the game is more important than the validity of leaderboards that can always be reset.
It does feel like this is another point which Codemasters have purposely avoided showing to people or mentioning up front. There has been no stream or no screenshots showing off the career mode and virtually no mention of it, let alone mention of this piece of information that if you're not connected you stand to lose all progress. And it makes me think "there's a reason this wasn't shown" and that is purposeful obfuscation of the situation (this also makes me a bit worried about DLC integration with career mode and I would like to see a confirmation that DLC locations will be integrated).
Now I hope people have some perspective and give them to time to sort it out but I can completely sympathise with those who are affected by this, either short- or long-term. By all accounts, there's a superb game to be enjoyed here and I hope as many people are able to join us in that as possible.
I admit I did get heated beause it felt like a lot people were throwing their toys out of the pram for one thing that didn't work smoothly on release day. I do understand that it should be working and maybe it was a fault on CM part to make sure this did really work properly before offering this incentive. I agree that it should hold onto times until a connection can be established if necessary, anything to not break the flow of the gameplay for everyone. However I do not agree that compensation should be offered, the Deluxe Edition isn't just early access but includes future content.
Having it implemented in a way where its required to have progress saved, that is a pretty ridiculous way to do it, especially if people are having these net issues. I'd also like to expect that DLC locations will be integrated somehow, maybe as standalone championships? Not sure. I haven't actually tried the career mode yet except RX so not sure of the format.
Unfortunately this was exacerbated by the fact that Racenet was dodgy, if it was fine I don't think most people would have noticed this integration. I definitely sympathise with those who are unable to play the career mode at the moment, you bought the game and you want it to work but yes, people need to be patient for these things to be fixed.
Thanks for the reasonable reply @RodgerDavies ❤️ I can respond to posts like this as they have thought and reason behind them.

Stop swaying away from the fact that it is just bad design to require an internet connection for single play. For multiplayer and online challenges I totally get it, but for single player carreer it is just bad design.
Having racenet unavailable makes this all to clear to all of us except you. When did I sway away from the fact? I said quite clearly here in the below I don't think its a good design. If you're going to argue then at least read my previous points:
Anyone else want to ignore what I've written?

Ok mate, the feeling is mutual.

Just now, Ruehling said:This has nothing to do with "entitlement" - get off your high horse there.
I'm on MarcoMaas side here.
I bought it to play it early. This chance is now gone, since I only had time today. Thanks for nothing then.
Don't tell me I get early access if I don't get (full) early access. That's false advertising.
It wouldn't all be that bad if at least someone gave us a word of sorry. But nothing from CM (that I read).
You're telling me you spent an extra £15 just to play 4 days early? Not for the DLC that is coming out down the line? It is entitlement, its not CM fault that today is the only day you can play.

I think some sort of compensation for Deluxe buyers is in place here!Wow, the entitlement is strong. Why should you get compensation because you haven't played immediately? What compensation would you like?
