Alright, do that tomorrow
Thank you very much team  -
Nah there's nothing at all :/RevolvingPrawn said:
Is it picking up any other connections? If not you probably need to install the driver for your WiFi adapter. And same for the display adapter. Go to the website for your brand of laptop, look up the model number, and on the page that shows your laptop there'll be something nearby that says 'support' and you should be able to download any drivers you need from there :)jordieDAFC said:Got it installed :D
For some reason its not picking up my BT hub or any other connection, and everything seems a bit blurry :/
I assume I'll have to do that on another computer? :L -

Its installing :open_mouth:
Feels good starting again, my files were a bit messy
How long will it take to install btw? :L -
Yeah the desktop has D: titled recovery so :/sjsharp2010 said:
that means that Windows is installed on the C drive as for the D drive that could mean that's the recovery partition normally it's labelled as recovery though so not 100% surejordieDAFC said:I've got C which has a wee windows logo next to it and D(tempPart01) whatever that is
I'll google it :pensive:
Apparently its a partition of the hard drive for recovery files and stuff so :L -

I think its the recovery partition.
Blooooody hell, these are tight screws :L -
What is the D drive for? Is that a separate drive from C? -
Tbf, Laguna is a pretty hard track despite not looking too difficult. I assume T6, the corkscrew and the long downhill bend were where you had problems? They murder you unless you get them right, but when you do get them right its pretty satisfyingPlaty said:
Yeah, I'm not quick enough yet to go for wins. I raced last night at Laguna Seca, first half a lap was very clean racing despite it being a rookie class... then I spun out. Then I caught everyone up again, then I spun out. Repeat that a couple more times. I forced myself to finish though. I hate Laguna Seca.jordieDAFC said:
In your first few races its worth just trying to finish instead of going for the win. The first few laps are usually pretty messy with people spinning and thinking they are Fernando Alonso at the start of a race so worth just holding off a bit and letting them be. After that the field usually splits itself into numerous packs and its pretty calmPlaty said:Just spent an hour practicing at Okayama. I never practice that much on a racing game, will aim for a race either Thursday or Friday. Really enjoying it so far, the price still puts me off it but I'm starting to see it's worth it.
As long as you don't have too many incidents then you'l get out the rookie class quickly

God, you make it sound so easy! haha. Literally nothing goes smoothly with me and computers :LRevolvingPrawn said:Good good! The amount of people I've had come in and ask me to fix their laptop, only to find they threw out the discs is unreal :p
It might be, what you're looking for is a code that looks kinda like 64356-64748-58393-73382-91738, if that's written underneath you can download an ISO of your Windows version from Microsoft themselves, use a tool they also provide to create a USB install disc, and install Windows from that onto the larger HDD.
If you can find the disc though then it becomes a lot easier! With that, all you need to do is put the larger HDD in, boot up the laptop and put the disc in, shut it down, boot it back up again and you'll be looking for 'boot options' or something similar on the very first page. Depending onyour laptops brand, it could be a number of different keys but for now let's just assume it's F12. Once you've pressed that it should give you a list of bootable devices, choose the disc drive and follow the instructions from there :)
And it won't speed it up :p It'll only give you more space to play with. The only way really to speed up a laptop is to buy an SSD for it.

I don't think i chucked them in the bin, think they are sitting in my room somewhere :PRevolvingPrawn said:
Yea, those bunch of discs that come with the laptop that most people think "eh, I'll never need this" before throwing in the bin... It would have been one of those :pjordieDAFC said:
Its a newish laptop, few years old :/RevolvingPrawn said:
Depends on a number of factors.jordieDAFC said:Team...
Is it possible to take the hard drive out my laptop, and put the hard drive from my old laptop in? Discovered the one in my current laptop is only 49GB and the other is 300b which explains why I have no space remaining....
I've done this before with varying success... On an older laptop it's possible, though you'll probably find you'll be missing 95% of the drivers you need. On a newer laptop the Windows key is built into the BIOS so it just won't recognise any other Windows installation. I'd say try it and see what happens, if won't harm your current hard drive, though it could mess up your old one a bit if you have to put it back into the old laptop.
What I'd recommend though, is backing everything up onto external media, finding your recovery/Windows install disc, insert old hard drive, wipe it, and then install Windows fresh.
Thats what i was thinking of maybe doing. The old hard drive has been formatted and only gets used as an external hard drive so Windows would be easy enough to install. Where do i get this recover/Windows install disc? Would that have been given to me when i got the laptop?
If you don't have it any more, I have a question that'll tell me what you have to do next. When you flip the laptop upside down is your Windows key written on a sticker there?
There's a sticker that has Microsoft and barcodes? Its faded away a bit but still readable if thats it?
Does this speed up my laptop or anything? :L Or is that processor controlled? :L -
I'll always take a German car over a Japanese car -
I remember i had something similar happen when i was learning to drive. Started reversing backwards and my foot got stuck and i couldn't press the clutch down. I was inches away from reversing into a car behind...Hughesy said:Second year in a row after having my car serviced, VW have left my clutch pedal slippery as hell. Last year I almost reversed into a load of new cars as my foot slipped off the clutch. Going back to an automatic next year anyway as I'm finding it hard to hold down the clutch :#
Thank god they have the dual controls :L -
