When purchased we did not purchase any of the products or code/content they had previously made (which makes a lot of sense, IP law is big). All of the work they had previously done is owned by Sony. This is a lot like when we bought the Sega Racing Studio or Swordfish (I would have loved to work on a Fifty Cent game!), we got people and a building but no products. SMS is different as they owned the games they made.

I'd just like to chip in here, the Cheshire studio wrote the engine for Onrush from scratch, it was not an existing engine. They have since then modified it a fair bit for DIRT 5.

Some better graphical effects as well, we do more than just resolution.

Can confirm, the game is enhanced on Xbox One X compared to the Xbox One or Xbox One S.

It is likely going to cause problems. The Steam profile and RaceNet ID do some linking together. A better idea would be you logging out of your Steam profile and him logging into his, that way he will get his save game from the cloud save. This means making sure he had cloud saves enabled on his own machine (it is the default option, I believe).

DiRT Rally 2.0 Game of the Year Edition - Available Now
CMMcBabe replied to PJTierney's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Just so you know, there is too much content to fit on one disc. -
Cheshire studio is having a lot of renovations done, which is good. The new Birmingham studio is really nice, I got some jealousy at parts of it. Never try to read too deeply into these.
-
My job involves making sure all of the development teams are kept up to date with what they might need for the future. I also went to visit the new Birmingham studio recently.
-
Our Cheshire studio is still up and running, I was up visiting a few weeks ago.

No to VR, yes to DLC.

AFAIK it is just that it is simple.

They are the internal codes we use for referencing the cars in code.

Would you be able to try the two following things if possible please? 1: Unplug all USB devices, except for keyboard and mouse) and boot the game? If you have a non-gaming mouse, that would be good to try. 2: Go to /Documents/My Games/Dirt Rally/ and delete the folders in there, then reboot. These sometimes help narrow down the problem.

Excuse me, whisky and not whiskey.

I did the big picnic tour last year, it was great! Got a wee bottle straight from a cask that I am saving some something VERY special.
-
It will be hard, I need to figure out what drink to have for the bells. Laphroaig is always good but I might get a bottle of Port Charlotte.
-
This is going to sound so selfish, but we will be out of the office at that date celebrating the end of 2019/start of 2020.

Estering.
-
Would you be able to either attach your dxdiag or email it to dirgame@codemasters.com please?

There might have even been more than one!

I changed job role, I have a little less time to look at the forums. There is a constant temptation to make some fake depots and branches, just to keep it interesting. I do enjoy reading the guesses people make, and sometimes mailing on correct guesses to the teams involved. There are some other annoyances with the Steam data, like people making guesses of a game's sales based on scraped data because they are usually inaccurate due to a lot of factors (giveaways, free weekends, refunds, etc).
-
The amount of Steam data that can be scraped by the public is always very annoying.
-
It's not "only stage results data", the other cars are running it. There is a lot of changes that would have to be made to make it work, it would be rewriting the multiplayer system.

The AI are not the problem. Short answer is that it would be a lot of effort.
