Not going to happen. The only reason Vettel would move is if the car wasn't up to scratch, what makes him think Red Bull will do any worse than McLaren next season? He seems happy with the team, even if the car isn't exactly in a world championship winning position. McLaren aren't improving, and nothing makes me think they will improve next season (who really knows if that Honda engine is going to be much of an improvement?).

Vettel is a very intelligent guy, going to McLaren would be a dumb move.

I agree with all of this. However I would say on Honda's part, although we don't know where they'll stand yet, having full access to the inner workings of the dominant engine on this year's grid can't have hurt in their development. Being one year behind the development curve is a lot to make up for though.

On the other hand McLaren are struggling despite having a dominant engine atm, so I don't see how a copy of it should suddenly bring them a huge boost. Apparently they can't get it right even with a 2014 Mercedes V6 Turbo.

Apart from that: How would you feel about Seb leaving RB for McLaren?

  2. And on Verstappen, I couldn't believe it when I first read it. A driver in F1 who is younger than me? Wow.

Yes Max has the talent, but what about Sainz Jr and Alex Lynn who have been overlooked. Sainz is doing an incredible job in F3.5, the same with Lynn in GP3. Seems very silly to me by Red Bull.

He's currently 7 years younger than me.
I feel crappy about that somehow.

According to a newspaper in Italy, Vettel has signed a contract to drive at Mclaren next season. It says the move will be announced in Monza and he will replace Button.

Italian newspapers are always a source to be suspicious of, but there's been a rumoured deal on the table from Mclaren to Vettel for some time now so it isn't a story completely out of the blue.

I can only repeat myself. If this is true: YOLO

  4. Massa is quick in quali, but he's slow in the race. He beat Alonso quite a few times in quali, but in the race he was always miles behind. Even look at Bottas and Massa now, take away bad luck and you can see that Massa is good in quali, but the points Bottas has scored show how inconsistent Massa is in the races. This is also pre-accident Massa.

Massa vs Raikkonen, 2007-Hungarian GP 2009

    Massa 25, Raikkonen 20

    Massa vs Alonso, 2010-2013

    Massa 19, Alonso 58(!!!)

    I rest my case.
