Did this really need bumping after three years to clarify that?

The quote about the Pro season mode said you'd be able to create the same thing using the options on the normal mode - the Pro mode just forces all these things on. So you could do all three practice sessions, play on the hardest setting, do full-length races, but not drive from cockpit cam for example, if you want. I have disagreed because I have already asked if the 3 practice sessions are available in the other modes, and it has been confirmed that you can only have the 3 sessions in Pro Season mode only. I directly asked @TheLeeMather So this quote from the promo material: "That’s not quite as interesting as the new Pro Season mode, however, which will offer a dedicated challenge for the most ardent of racing fans. Though you can naturally achieve the same effect on your own, it codifies the stripping away of all the game’s assists, lets you race only from the first person view point, and gives you the full race weekend of three practice sessions, qualifying and a full length race..." is a lie? Not hugely surprising if it is I guess, given past form, but that very much makes it sound as if these are all options which can be turned on or off individually, and Pro mode just forces them all on.

F1 2014 - Max Verstappen Mod v2.0 !!! UPDATED

Very good, but Max's number is 33. ;) -
yeah exactly no career mode means that if you're not skilled with pro mode your stuck with just championship mode. For me that's not enough on it's own The quote about the Pro season mode said you'd be able to create the same thing using the options on the normal mode - the Pro mode just forces all these things on. So you could do all three practice sessions, play on the hardest setting, do full-length races, but not drive from cockpit cam for example, if you want.

Surely the Pro season mode is going to feature all practice sessions? I can't see any other reason for having two 'career' modes than to make one a watered-down version of the real thing. Which is fine, as long as the option also exists to do a full weekend (and it isn't completely ignored in QA testing leaving it bugged beyond repair, of course).

So that's more CM employees in this thread in the last day than I've seen in my entire time here... does that mean something? ;)
-
Rendering error, or maybe a cheeky 'spot the difference' by someone inside CM who feels the same way we do about the copy-paste...
-
It's sadly obvious that this is indeed a copy-paste job that they'd rather not be making, but since their contract requires them to release a game every year here it is. The lack of previews leaves me feeling that they'd honestly rather everyone not notice this game, and certainly don't have anything they can't wait to tell us all about in there. Better this than rush the next-gen game and have it full of quick fixes that ruin every subsequent game on the new engine though, I guess,

The manual pit lane control does not feature in F1 2014. Thanks for the suggestion though, this feedback is already with the team. LOL, that feedback has been with the team since 2011.

Why is the PoV so much higher in the second shot? The first one with Ericsson is pretty much spot-on, and it's not the different screen aspect ratio making it look lower - look how much more of the tops of the wheels you can see in the Japanese shot. I'm guessing they have this option in the dev build because they know a real F1 driver will call them out on a ridiculously high driving position, but sadly I doubt we'll get a choice in-game.
-
Yeah, I think T10 modelled the promo car; by the Donington test they did have the mirrors on but the Forza version was no doubt already done by then.
-
Completely makes sense about the wheels, if they at least have some more useful info on there that'll be great. Can you tell us why the Williams display is on the wheel and not the cockpit like the actual car though? It's the old style, and the Red Bull at least has always had it there in previous games, so I don't see why that would be a resource issue.

F1 2014 New Game Menu and Hud Revealed
Araqiel replied to MickeyMoTiOnZ's topic in General Discussion
I'd certainly take generic wheels if it means more useful info, since I play with HUD off, but if that's the intention then why they couldn't just come out and say that's why they're doing it I don't know. Doesn't explain the Williams display not being on the cockpit where it should be either. -
Funny how they haven't even made a topic about this hotlap video. It's like they really hope everyone forgets this game exists or something. More or less. They knew we (the ones with a brain) would be bashing them for this. They are just relying on the new customers only this time. This is why I still don't get how come they decided to open another forum again, and switched radically their attitude toward the "acid" users. If we still were in the old forum, even more in the older fora, most critic topics would be constantly dissapearing, and forum users been banned in sight, all in the name of that swift form of censorship they have always liked so much, the "Constructive Criticism", which is the fashion nowadays in most forum anyway, whether official or not. Actually, not wasting money on adevertising this game is the smartest way to go once you stop by for a moment and try to think they way they might do. I'm sure they are just trying to resist all the flak 'till the moment comes eventually to show the next gen game with the new engine, and I must admit I'm still hoping big time for the next tittle, because they should have got rid of all classic bugs and mistakes from the od engine, as well as building pretty much better and intense physics. If they end up dissapointing me with the new engine too, then I will give up, indeed Pretty much everything here is how I feel.
