Well I wouldn't have minded at all to have a PS4 port of the F1 2014 game. There is a completely new game coming in 2015, but in the meantime, it would be nice to be play an F1 game on my only console (PS4). Need For Speed Rivals or MotoGP 14 are also more or less straight ports from a current-gen game but at least they allow me to play something. Now I have to wait at least 6 months more.

Appreciate that. However we decided that to make the biggest step forward we had to start from scratch on an all new engine tailored to the new consoles. Maybe we could have done both, but that would have resulted in us splitting our limited resource and delaying our next-gen engine.

This does make sense, and hopefully when info on the next-gen game (not calling it 2015, see? ;)) starts to come out people will see that this is what CM had to do to make the game into what we've been asking for since 2010.

    We'll have a  more specific time frame for next-gen F1 once F1 2014 has launched. By the way, we haven't announced an 'F1 2015' next-gen F1 doesn't have a name just yet. ;)

does this mean you could be including F1 2014 and F1 2015 in 1 game (I won't be surprised if you can't answer that yet because you want to release F1 2014 first)

    We'll have a lot more info on next-gen F1 after F1 2014 launches. ;)

Oooh, if we get to play consecutive real-world seasons with accurate driver changes etc. like we always wanted... As if I wasn't anticipating October enough already!   :D

When will you show us video with new engine sound?

We have some hotlaps being made. They should be out in the next couple weeks.

Regarding the Williams livery: Trust me guys, we tried everything.

Why is the red stripe and 'Racing' acceptable in countries that ban alcohol advertising but not in the game? Also how on Earth did you get away with the classic Ferraris in 2013 that essentially had the Marlboro logo on them in barcode form if they're this strict?

I cannot say anything more than what's in our FAQ.

"Well… this was quite the topic of conversation yesterday on Twitter between a lot of fans and those who work in the sport. So here’s the thing…we would have loved to have featured the full race livery and we worked very hard with all of our partners & sign off parties to come up with a solution. Unfortunately due to circumstances outside of our control we’ve had to use a modified livery for the game, just like Williams Martini Racing have to when competing in countries that prohibit the advertising of alcohol. We’re continuing to explore ways to address this in future releases."

Hope you can understand that this isn't what we wanted either.

If you can't say any more then that's fine, but hopefully you see how the explanation that Williams also have to do this doesn't really explain much when you can't even use the livery they use in those situations in the game. What a red stripe has to do with alcohol (other than the beer of that name which surely isn't the reason) I've no idea.

It's a shame licensing has to be so restrictive, but when you look at the ideas the F1 working groups have to 'liven up' the sport when the racing is incredible already I suppose it's not all that surprising that they're missing out on their best opportunity to sell the sport to a wider audience, which this series should be. I'm thinking more than just liveries here obviously, like damage models and feeder series, but I know you can't say much about all that either.

Morning everyone. Just to let you know, the effects of ERS are delivered automatically in F1 2014, there's no "boost button." Also, I see there's a lot of questions regarding the NA physical disk launch of F1 2014. I want to say a big yes to this, however I want to check for sure on Monday. I'll see if I can get a concrete answer for you.

Will FP1 and FP2 be included this year? Apart from anything else, doing R&D in FP3 makes no sense. Also what's going to happen with brake bias this year? Are we keeping it the same as last year and ignoring the BBW?

  6. would anybody like to see GP2 and GP3 as an addition to the game? i think it would be great as it would make people more familiar with a great series and also like they do on the motogp game it would allow new gamers to feed into the game and get used to the cars. although i have played f1 by codies since 2010 i would really like to see them try and add it into the game. i would also like to see some more classics this year as i thought that was one of the best features they could have added and it was great fun to drive classic f1 cars.

Yes yes, oh god yes. I'd buy a standalone GP2/GP3 game, so if they included it in the F1 title I'd just about wet myself.

  7. Grid Autosport Formula C cars have got the controlling scheme spot on with how I would like F1 2014 F1 cars to handle at rookie level and I have the Formula C cars on Very Easy Level. Also on rookie level make your car a little bit faster than the Ai so they are not so close on your back and put ai times on the rookie level a few seconds slower in Practice and Qualifying and you will have rookie level spot on for me.I know a few people will disagree with me.Thats how I wanted f1 2013 cars to handle like at rookie level.

You want F1 2014 to handle like an approximation of an F3 car? See this is why people don't take the 'rookie is too hard' crowd seriously.

I appreciate this means people will create ever more elaborate conspiracy theories but everything is okay, FOM haven't objected to anything in the game, we're progressing with our projects and so on but this years titles are a little different for reasons I cannot yet discuss. Despite this post people will still ask me questions I cannot answer.
Guessing that either means a next-gen version with significant differences to the 360/PS3 version, or a full classic version this year. I really hope it's the latter personally, since I didn't spend all that money on a new console to have the games held back by the old machines. I appreciate there's a larger install base but if you spread yourself too thin nothing good can come of it. So XBONE/PS4/PC only, with a full classic version is what I'm crossing my paws for.

  9. Interesting you guys are talking about this because in the last 2-3 hours Alex Gillon has been making many posts on his Twitter account that he is today at the Codies Birmingham Studios....... Next week there will be some news for sure.... F1 2013 was announced on the 16th July 2013, therefore........
    I don't think he's there.... it looks like a 'CYOA tour' on CM's Twitter that he's re-tweeting.

  10. Let's feed some more rumors. Does Steve have a private Twitter account to share PS4 screenshots? If you search for @T4RG4 you will stumble upon @T4RG4_77

This feeds the rumor that F1 2014 will be a PS4 exclusive.

    PS4 FTW!

77 is Valtteri Bottas' number, and Steve has said he loves the new Williams...
