Also, I'm not sure, is it worth to upgrade prior to the start?

Engine upgrades are a good 20-30 second advantage depending on the Stage and Car.

You can still set good times with stock power but you need to nail every corner pretty much.

Tuning isn’t required though, for most of the cars the stock setups are safe.

Sometimes when I'm driving (always sober :classic_wink:) my mind wanders and I start thinking about totally-non-racing things, normally happens when I'm at complete ease with the car. At that point I'm essentially on "autopilot" until I hit a bad bump.

In Forza I've won Multiplayer races while on "autopilot", strange feeling when the race is over: "What just happened? oh, I won."

In DiRT Rally 2.0 I've had it a few times, normally ends badly 2km down the road :classic_laugh:

Somehow I just set a Top 10 (Xbox) on the Argentina Daily today, while autopiloting.

I should concentrate less often, that was the cleanest run I’ve ever had round there :classic_laugh:

Yeah I do that too, and usually I then drive better. So much so that I sometimes actively try to think of random other stuff. I believe the reason is that the subconscious just takes over, unhindered by my conscious mind that often unnecessarily corrects and brakes and stuff when paying attention.

It's like when Senna got into that flow state at Monaco '88 :classic_wink:

Do, do people actually drive sober? I couldn't even imagine trying to do my dailies without a few beers in me, only way to calm the nerves and get my head on straight!

I was running Top 20 on PS4 with no upgrades but no idea where i ended up in the end!

Glad to see its not just me that has switched to single platform leaderboards!

I check the Multi-Platform boards if I top the Xbox board, but if I can’t make #1 on that there’s no point in looking at even faster times 😏

Good job! I still have to complete my first daily. Going to give this a try and see how it works out.

Dailies are what I mainly do in DiRT Rally 2.0 now, as it like the fact that you only get one attempt and you’re going up against human opponents.

What changes did you make? I'm finding that the wheels lock up under braking very quickly even with ABS all the way on.

    I came prepared :classic_cool:

    In short:

    Sensitivity 100

    Saturation 4

Inner Deadzones as close to minimum as you can (assuming you don’t have stick drift or trigger lock).

    Outer Deadzones to about 100

PJ, are you not planning to get a wheel at some point? It really would change your experience to the better in my view.

I have considered it but I'd probably want to go all the way and get an F1 Playseat while I'm at it since I like the seating position :classic_happy:

In any case I don't have room in my current flat for that kind of rig, but I'll try and accommodate that space should I be moving in the future :classic_laugh:

DiRT Rally 2.0 feels great on a controller though, right up there with Forza Motorsport 7. I don't feel like I'm missing out, and I can still get near the top of the Xbox leaderboards :classic_happy:

Steam is one shared environment for public/development.  PS4 and X1 have private developer environments, which is why you might occasionally see developer sessions on Steam but never for the consoles.  The trophy/achievement scrapers only take details from the retail environment.

    Thanks for the insight :classic_happy:

4 new achievements have been added, they are still hidden tho:

My guess is these are Monte related, but 4 just for Monte seems like a lot, as not all 6 other rally locations have a dedicated achievement.

Edit: apparently those have been added a week ago already.

No new Achievements have shown up on Xbox, and a quick look at PS4 Trophy sites shows none either.

Why not do it like Polyphony Digital and just record a hairdryer?

    it was  vacuum cleaner

Also, that joke became far less relevant after the release of Gran Turismo Sport. Forza Motorsport 7 on the other hand has seen some unusual changes in engine audio quality compared to previous titles.
