https://twitter.com/randomcallsign/status/1258121167057162241?s=20
I'm kind of dumbfounded, sad, and confused. I really enjoyed PRC as he called things as they were and tried to bring attention to issues, while the terrible community did as much damage to him as they could, including things that really shouldn't be mentioned. It just sucks that sim racing has become so stagnant that people actively block forward progression and demand that things literally never change at all.
I know he recently put up a video calling out all the people that bullied him online over the years, as well as a few criticising iRacing's response to criticism, but either way, looks like he's been through some stuff.

A long ways away.

(as made famous by PJT in all your favorite track showcases!)
😄
I sank hundreds of hours into F1 2011 back in the day, so I’m used to that angle.

GT6 has this amazing “ghost line” feature, even in multiplayer qualifying 🙂

Not sure if you can hear it in the Zandvoort video (because of the music) but the Honda in F1 2020 really rumbles and gargles off-throttle, you can almost feel the different parts of the power unit and transmission spinning round, doing their thing 🙂
Similar to 0:36 in this when the car goes through the right-hander:

Have you tried following ghosts in Time Trial by any chance?
Find one that’s half a second faster than you, chase it, beat it, find another half a second faster, repeat.
I sometimes call this ladder training, used to do it a lot in Forza to get to Top 1%.

And also, I’m not going to reveal anything about DIRT 5 that isn’t already out there.
I will say one thing though.
- Did you notice the Ford Escort RS Cosworth in one of the screenshots?
- Wondered why the DiRT Rally 2.0 version got entirely new engine audio a year after launch?
- There’s your reason, new recordings 🙂

I know on the first video showcasing Zandvoort track you mentioned adjusting the look to apex settings to get the interior replays. Curious to know if what we’re seeing of the Spain video is the default cockpit view (which seems much closer to the wheel than previous F1 games) or if you tweaked more of the settings like the field of view etc. Many thanks 👍
Same settings, I had my ones saved from last time.
The T-Cam Offset view is default values, the Cockpit view is adjusted for maximum motion.
I drive in T-Cam, but higher, further back and looking down, like F1 2010.

None taken 🙂
I have far more experience on a wheel in DiRT Rally 2.0 than I do F1, so I’m reading all the feedback on driver skill and applying that to go faster in the future.

After Zandvoort I reviewed my approach to turning and wasn't as aggressive on the wheel 🙂
Subsequently (ie: after this video was captured) I recalibrated my wheel and took Fanatec's recommended F1 2019 settings (and turned on Understeer Enhance as the wheel going light helps identify too much lock). Feels better now.
24 minutes ago, TheEmpireWasRight said:1.) Was Turn 9 of Spain taken flatout in this video
Very nearly flat out, only the slightest of lifts for a brief moment. With a bit more bravery and the right setup that's easy flat.

IMPORTANT: This thread is slightly different to previous ones, read first post carefully.

As mentioned in the letter to the DiRT Rally 2.0 community, the DiRT Rally development team is beginning to ramp up work on future (unannounced) projects.
-
A few very minor updates are planned for DiRT Rally 2.0 before we complete development service on this title.
-
Version 1.15 does not have a set date yet, but do not expect it for a few months at the earliest.
-
In terms of bugfixing, the team will primarily focus on critical and/or game-breaking issues only.
-
For the avoidance of doubt, "important" bugs are ones that adversely and directly affect your driving, major performance drops, crashes etc.
-
As with all modern games, there will be some minor things that simply won't be "fixed".
-
Please bear all of the above in mind before you post, thank you.
QuotePosting guidelines:
-
Check if something has already been reported, and hit the the ❤️ icon on a post if it's happening to you too.
-
Make sure you provide a method of reproduction (MOR) before sharing an issue.
-
When providing your MOR, clearly explain how to reproduce the bug you encountered (bullet points are good, video is better but not mandatory).
-
No MOR means no real way for dev team to identify how a bug can be caused, and therefore no fix.
-
Maximum of one bug per post. Every bug then gets its own URL for dev team to track.

4 minutes ago, macebig said:Is there any hope for a realistic livery on the 2007 Focus?
None planned, sorry.
A Season livery was granted to that car (which is rare as all other Season liveries are for base game cars).
The '01 Focus got a new livery purely because it was being used in the Colin McRae Scenarios.
-
The road surfaces being smoother/rougher probably plays into it too, and Monte being colder (theoretically).

I like it as a casual game on a pad, but when I want to take my driving seriously it's either Rally or F1.

If you look back through recent titles, it is possible to have a more casual-friendly game with a decent handling model. GRID is a good example, cars are fun to drive and push hard in that, even with all the assists off.

I wasn't confused at your message, I was confused about the volume 😉
If Scotland needs another audio update that'll have to wait until 1.15, but I'll pass it on.
