Ah, guess that would be this then*?...

    * Apologies everyone for tainting the mighty DiRT thread with inferior motorsport.

Yes, I'm helping out on bits and bobs for F1 2020; for announce I helped make the thumbnail for the trailer, adopting FOM styling (F1 game's YouTube didn't use many custom thumbnails before).

Nothing as in-depth (yet) as what I did on DiRT Rally 2.0, but over time my focus will shift more towards F1 this year.

It would be cool if a older Colin McRae Game  would join the next Dirt Rally game as a bonus

I may be getting this wrong, but I feel that after Colin passed there was some sort of agreement between Codemasters and his estate to not have his name as the title of a full game anymore.

To my knowledge the FLAT OUT Pack is the first time his name's been used for a major gaming content piece of any kind since Colin McRae: DiRT.

    1. which are the main differences between fast repair, normal repair and replace? (apart from the amount of credits)
    2. Do the cars run slower if I do not fix broken headlights? I have several cars with destroyed headlights and I do not know if I should fix them (if no night stages coming...)
    3. Why I can not buy new cars such as new Lancia Delta S4 or Lancia Delta HF... only used ones appears selling... Are the used ones slower/worse in some kind of things? what if they were totaled a couple of times?
    1. Normal repair is... normal. May still have a bit of wear but will be back in working order.
Fast repair means you take less time to repair the car in service, but it's a rush job. The part will wear faster and is more likely to break.
Replace gives you a fresh new part, with its full lifespan and no wear.

    2. Theoretically there may be a very minor aerodynamic risk but I don't know if that's simulated in the game.
If you're not planning to use your lights there's no need to replace them.

    3. You can't buy new ones of those in real life either 😉
Used cars already have a bunch of worn/damaged parts, but once you repair them you're good to go.

I'll ping an email and see if it can get sorted.

The process looks simple enough (go to accounts.codemasters.com, sign in, go to friends, search for the username you want to add/accept) but I'm also getting that error.

Web team's aware and will investigate.

I don't get it. You are repeating that support is monitoring but at the same time you are asking for reporting connectivity issues. After all monitoring allows predicting system behaviour and what is more important give inputs for permanent fixes (which don't happen so far)

To me it looks like your systems have no headroom at all.  Don't know about other continents but in Europe end of workdays appears 5 times a week. and are followed by weekend which is proven to be demanding too.

Are CM is going to improve the situation seriously or you think ensuring us the monitoring is in process is enough?

I don't know the details, I'm a Social Media guy, not a network technician (if that's even the correct term to use here).

All I know is that they do have some systems in place to track user activity, how many people are playing etc., but at the same time "what is the community saying" is a question that gets asked, hence why this thread exists.

If there's a trend in responses, like a repeating error code that gets reported, or if it's only Steam or PSN that's getting hit, or it's only in Clubs, then those are further clues to help diagnose, on top of the existing systems that I'm not privy to (because I'm not a technician).

Essentially, I'm a middleman between you guys and the studio; I'm merely passing information both ways 🙂

What I do know however is that the studio takes these issues and outages seriously and has done so since before the game's launch, and their causes and future actions come up frequently in meetings.

  5. A small multiplayer thing I think would be cool for streams and such, staggered starts for rally lobbies.

Could potentially have options ranging from "Start at 1 minute intervals" to "Start when previous driver has finished".

Would make livestreaming rallies a little more interesting than switching between live views, although the way that WRC8 shows all the ghosts in real time is neat too. 🙂

  6. Hi guys, got word on Bonus Challenges earlier but been busy, so here goes:

    • The dev team has added a bunch of new/extra Challenges based on forum feedback.
    • Some are "hardcore", with restricted assists, hardcore damage, higher surface degradation, severe weather etc.
    • Others feature less commonly-used cars, to encourage you all to try them out.

I'm having a similar problem, with friend requests via ps plus, I can't join in championships

Just so I get this straight:

    1. You're both owners via PlayStation Plus
    2. When you're in Custom / Multiplayer, you cannot join other peoples' Lobbies
    3. When you're in Custom / Multiplayer, other players can't join your Lobbies

    Is that correct?

You've probably already done this, but have you checked your NAT type in PlayStation settings?

Ideally you should be Type 1 or Type 2, Type 3 means something in your console/home setup is refusing connections to other players.

Yepp, I know, I took part in The Solberg Race. This time it is snow, so the problem with acid rain doesn’t appear in Monte Carlo. But the problem is present in Expert DiRT, and I’m sure you know the organizer of that one. 😉

    That organiser's a cool dude 😉

As for the meteoric rain, from what I've seen it's not something that is reproducible 100% of the time, which makes it a tricky thing to fix.

yeah but the ones with digital speedometers should be able to show metric aswell in real life i assume. Im pretty sure _all_ cars with digital speedometers are imperial so i think its just an oversight?

Again, likely depends on the car and licensing (and in some cases, what teams use).

Personally, I'm a metric everywhere kind of guy 🙂
