Before someone says that this in not the final game

    *says the thing*

Note, some of the later cars in DiRT Rally 2.0 (like the Ford Fiesta R5 MKII) are using the exact same recordings as DIRT 5.

  2. That sounds about right, you may need to install the "license key" so that the game knows you own the content.

Also, important thing to consider is that PlayStation Store is region-specific.

If you have a European game and purchased DLC from the American store by accident it's not compatible. If that is what happened then contacting PlayStation Store support and explaining your mistake usually results in a refund*.

    * I had a similar experience on Xbox where I purchased DLC for the Windows version of Cities: Skylines by mistake, and got a refund within 2 days.

    1. Do you use shakedowns in various game options (career, historic, colin mcrae, etc.)? If so, how often?
    2. Do you use them in challenge events?
    3. How many do you use per event?
    4. What do you use them for?
    5. How much difference does using them or not using them make in your overall race?

I've played the game quite a bit so I feel I can jump in right away without a Shakedown, however:

    1. In any long events that you only have a single attempt in (like Clubs), I'll try Shakedowns.
    2. No.
    3. As many as I feel I need to get comfortable with how the car is feeling that day, so usually 4.
    4. A simple warm-up and way to expose any glaring flaws with a car setup before I start running for real.
    5. The different is minor; it's mainly for peace of mind.

  4. From the patch notes:

    Colin McRae Scenarios (difficulty):

The following Scenarios have had their difficulty adjusted based on player data to provide a smoother difficulty curve:

    • Scotland 1988 - Slightly easier.
    • Wales 1988 - Slightly easier.
    • Sweden 1989 - Slightly easier.
    • New Zealand 1989 - Slightly easier.
    • Scotland 1991 - Slightly easier.
    • Scotland 1992 - Slightly easier.
    • Greece 1994 - Eased damage criteria for passing Scenario.
    • New Zealand 1994 - Slightly harder.
    • Australia 1995 - Slightly harder.
    • Wales 1995 - Slightly harder.
    • Argentina 1998 - Slightly harder.
    • Germany 2002 - Slightly harder.
    • Scotland 2004 - Slightly easier.
    • Australia 2005 - Slightly harder.
    • Scotland 2006 - Eased damage criteria for passing Scenario.

We didn't change Finland. Sometimes you just get a fast AI but if you do a new Scenario from scratch is evens out.

I just did my world tour thingie to unlock the new Ford Fiesta and to my surprise I discovered that there was a BMW M2 in the game as well. So, between the last batch of the 3, 2019 WRX cars, anything else I missed?

The BMW M2 Competition was last year's prize car.

You can buy that normally in-game now like any other car (when it shows up in the Garage menu).

The 2019 World RX cars are DLC, you can either get them individually, as part of Season 4, or all together with the GOTY or Year One Pass.

Thanks! I already watched all your guides on YT. You're basically my engineer since I use your setups on every track. (Haha!)

Ha, thanks 🙂 YouTube is starting to call me "the F1 tutorial guy" so I guess I'm doing it right 🙂

By the way, do you know if the car performance is the same in online league and GP mode? I always practice in GP mode for league races only to find out I can't go the same pace. I'm about 2 sec slower in the race. Seems like I'm the only one having this issue.

I believe the underlying physics are the same (no reason to believe otherwise), but I haven't played enough competitive Multiplayer to know the differences as well as the pros do.

I would say the best practice is to replicate the race conditions as best you can. That often means finding a training buddy and creating your own private lobby. That way if there are "online physics" you're practicing using those instead of Solo.
