Not only predictable but they lack any of the "soul" of the real locations, taking for example that hairpin around the tree in Greece (Dirt Rally 1), or the final section of Sweet Lamb, it's impossible to have ideas of fictitious places as "complete" as real places in a number enough to make it worth releasing a game only with them. If the idea is to just insert the feature into the game, it gets like Dirt 4, if the idea is to increase the number of combinations until each experience gets unique, it's worth putting much more real life stages and locations into the game, Mobil 1 Rally Championship like, that it would be better.

    Honestly? I hope Codemasters releases even much more locations to Dirt Rally 2 and I'm willing to pay for them since the price currently is nice.

    Oh, not even to mention how cool it is to race knowing that road exists in real life.

    I remember Dirt 4 near the end, that special championship (I forgot the name, dropped the game after like a month since my thing is to drive vintage cars and it failed to surprise my back then, but that ones which you have to beat the career to unlock I think?) to be essentially night and rain, or night + rain :P. But early-to-mid Dirt 4 was perfect about this.

    But yeah, you have from 2/3 to 3/4 of your events to have rainy stages, that seems a little bit overkill. Night seems OK in your stats though. While the stages distribution (number of wet or night stages/total number of stages) over an event seems good, what annoys me is that it rains at almost every event.

I even got a few (one or two) top 10 on leaderboards with the Stratos, really comfortable car to drive, although 90% of the time I play RWD... any AWD car and I'm lucky if I'm in the top 500 after a very good stage. But yeah, it's my fifth season I guess, still more rainy stages (absolutely every event/location having rainy stages is crazy, no matter how incredible the rain looks and feels) and night races than what would be normal, I'm not sure I paid much attention to the first season though since I failed to see if it happened a lot then. But well, let's hope it evens out then *shrugs as well* 😂.

Having a hell of a good time with Dirt Rally 2.0, the Lancia Delta S4 feels like a missile — while it didn't feel like such either in Dirt Rally or Dirt 4, but I admit two things long term are bothering me a little bit: it rains every single rally and damn, sometimes I feel it's always night, to the point I even get slightly impressed when I see in game daylight. I mean, at least about rain the game could take a little bit from F1 2018, objectively.

    Btw guys, also... how is the Lancia 037 to drive with a controller? Wondering whether to buy the full Deluxe pack or just the tracks I like. The rest of the game, Stratos included, is just awesome with the pad.

The brazilian portuguese edition of Dirt Rally suffers with some very bad pacenote problems (as it's already known), like the co-driver repeats a pacenote and then everything gets horribly out of synchronization (like a pacenote of a corner being sad ~5 seconds after the corner) or a pacenotes being simply skipped, being necessary for the driver to guide merely through what appears on screen (kinda of an immersion breaker). This edition (South American) only gives you access to spanish and portuguese, would it be easy/possible for Codemasters to allow us to download the pacenotes in english, or even set the game to english itself (as there are several translation errors)? Since the problems do not show up in the english language version of the game.

    Sorry for my bad english, I promise it's good enough to understand the pacenotes though :) , as I do in Dirt 4. I'm not sure on how big of a work it would be for Codemasters to make the language avaliable for download -- doesn't *look* like something too complex though, but it would make the experience yet much more enjoyable and realistic for us brazilians.

  6. Do you play Landrush in gamer or simulation? If in gamer (I found it to be much more interesting than simulation here), the default setup with modified gears (I put, if I'm not mistaken, 1st around 0.62 and 2nd around 0.82) is good enough for top 100 in almost all the tracks -- Xbox One leaderboards. Destroyed the Tough AI easily (didn't try it on Brutal though as I hate no restarts when my race is destroyed in the first corner). Oh, and disable all driver aids as they limit the truck a lot. 

    And softer rear springs may not be a good idea as the trucks need to be agile under throttle, and it would cause the weight to shift too much to the rear. Anyway, I haven't tried it.

    The rallycross cars are very aerodynamic, and the kind of race they run makes them gain a lot from ride height setups.

    And RallyDriven, well, "opinion" but it doesn't take more than a bit of common sense to know Group B cars do not have a glued rear to the ground (and well, although this can be adjustable by setup, it isn't the right way to drive in this game as you lose as much time as if you were driving like this in a circuit racer). Besides, here I'm just reflecting the opinion of the community overall in physics (the people on Steam...). I think the physics in Dirt 4 has many good things Rally did not have, like the cars actually have mass and you can't go crashing the car into snow banks to gain time. And promising the world and not delivering it is also a great way of selling a game, right... the Steam charts speak by themselves.

  8. The game is very good, as fun as Dirt Rally, although not as much of as simulator. Codemasters' error was presenting it like a "Dirt Rally 2", as "infinite (with a subjective meaning of "infinitely different" and keeping Dirt Rally's remarkable stage quality) number of rally routes". Had they said "this is a return to the CMR roots" people would be in love with the game at this moment. They hyped the game to levels they couldn't return, even though they returned a lot. 

    If they were like "we're starting the Your Stage tool, not 100% yet" nobody would be complaining about the mostly bland stages but rather praising what -- rightfully is -- one of the biggest inovations, if not the biggest, in the recent history of racing games, and that finally gives rally games a meaning related to the real world other than a very hard exercise of memorization.

    This could be easily solved if Code gave us a word, a smoke signal or whatever, but they seem to basically have vanished like they did when F1 2014 was released. We all know the result for F1 2015... 

    Anyway, I liked it and I will keep playing it, a lot. But the whole situation still leaves a bitter taste, mainly when I think "the dark times" (like with F1 2014) may be coming back.

  9. I was racing a bit of Group A with my team on the game, and noticed the absence of the 555 paint scheme for the Group A Subaru (the early 00s car has it though), if there is this paint scheme, in what level does it unlock? Is there a list of the paint schemes anywhere?

    [Extra doubt: how to setup the R5 cars for joystick? Hahah, every car is OK with a joystick, but the R5 feels worse than the Lancia 037 in Dirt Rally :D ]
