[VIDEO] F1 2014 Spa Hot Lap

^ you're completely deluded if you think a 22 car grid and normal run of the mill TV style camera angles are somehow pushing the limitations of 2014 technology. Codemasters are reeling you in hook line and sinker. Codemasters always play the blame game.. FOM wont let us do this, console limitations, Licencing issues... and deluded fanboys like yourself take the bait while Codies take your money. Theres more to games than graphics

No Codemasters have stated that all the shortcomings of the game are down to licence issues through FOM. The next game will not be called F1 2015, there will be no driver numbers, and the drivers names will be altered eg - Fernando Alonso/Hernán Alfonse, Pastor Maldonado/Pasta Mariano, Nico Rosberg/Niki Rosfeld etc This is due to FOM not wanting people to confuse the game with real life. Not Codemasters fault

Super Aguri had a good car at one point, they were embarassing the works Hondas. They were brought down by the FIA who came down hard on customer cars, Super Aguri didnt build their own cars they were outdated Hondas

I'm sure they've said before they can't use TV angles all the way round due to the graphical limitations on consoles. and you beleive them? Seems that every racing game in history has used TV replays but obviously its too much for the consoles. Convenient excuse for what should be a standard feature in ANY racing game especially in modern times I'm interested, what recent racing games do have TV style replays? motoGP, Gran Turismo, basically every non codemasters racing game in history? even GTA has put more thought into it and stealing cars and killing ¢unt$ isnt a sport last time I checked Can you do 22 car grids on Gran Turismo? Also gran Turismo is a PlayStation exclusive, the ps3 has more power, and it's easier to develop for a single platform, than for multiplatforms. GTA doesn't have 22 car grids, and I wasn't aware they had a replay system. I'm fairly certain Forza doesn't have television style replay cameras.  GTA online, when you get killed in a mission you can watch your team mates finish off the job and have a range of TV style and cinematic camera angles to cycle through, even a live news feed of the disturbance. All camera angles are realistic. GP2 1995... any camera angle, any car, any time. Dont feed me Codemasters PR generated bullsh!t, if I wanted that ¢rap id read their twitter feed. If you think the xbox 360 has less power than an ibm 486 you're kidding yourself

    Penalties & Parc Ferme

No, because all they do is screw you over due to the AI's incompetance. Doesn't really affect the realism anyway, the only way these games could get any more arcade is if they had INSERT COIN - CREDIT(S)/0 flashing in the top right corner of the screen constantly

none of this is possible due to "licencing issues". No in game comments can have an effect on the virtual world championship.. FOM will have Codies heads on sticks if the licence is breached in any way.  Rumour has it FOM wants "Bernie says THINK BEFORE YOU DRIVE" to be watermarked on the screen at all times, doing anything unauthorised in game could land you a severe lawsuit. Personally i think FOM have gone too far, either way Codemasters cant be blamed at all
  8. MUZZARIOL

    Bit Dissapointed...

Suzuka 89, Adelaide 94, Jerez 97, Monte Carlo 06, Monte Carlo 14, Spa 14.. as much as Hamilton wishes he was Senna, Rosberg has the kind of ruthlessness that won Schumacher 7 titles. Lewis doesnt stand a chance. and you're dreaming if you think Codemasters will put that into a game, they cant even get the basic AI pecking order correct. No doubt there will be "licencing issues" involved as well, as FOM likely own the rights to any perceived subjective driving style/traits/characteristics displayed by any driver, thus would have to be licenced for use in the game (which Codies cant afford regardless of charging full price for copy and paste games)
  9. im speaking about Jean and Gilles in the context of picking your own team, you said it was ridiculous for a rookie to be driving for Ferrari. It basically happened with Jean and Gilles. Things have changed through the ages but at the end of the day its still got an engine and four wheels
  10. ^ thats the point. Im not saying Fisi was lacking in talent, Im saying the Ferrari was a horrible car and the only reason Kimi could get results was because he had it all season. No one on the grid couldve stepped into Massa's car and got instant results, but try telling that to Luca di Montezemolo who was quick to blame Badoer and Raikkonen when Fisichella showed first hand how bad the Ferrari really was.  Luca cant make excuses when the guy who failed to score another point in his carrer almost beat his main man in a Force India two weeks earlier. It was easier for LdM to blame it on the drivers
  11. Kovalainen had a good 07 season, and McLaren didn't drop Alonso to get Kovalainen, Alonso walked on McLaren and willingly returned to a out of form Renault. Then theres speculation that Hamilton was quite happy for Kovalainen to be part of McLaren as he didn't see him as a threat, but that's just speculation. Ferrari paid of Raikkonen because they wanted Alonso who was doing a good job at Renault when they were in the gutter, and Raikkonen was allegedly loosing his will to race in the sport. Then the reason they dropped Massa was because he had an abysmal 2013 season, whilst Raikkonen was doing a stellar job at Lotus so they wanted the guy who was currently performing well and won their last World Championship for them. Theres always reasons for things in motorsport, so a rookie replacing a 4 time world champion at Red Bull would seem a bit odd. And if motorsport is unpredictable what's the point of giving the player total control? So McLaren treated Alonso with respect commensurate of his status as 2 time reigning world champion? allowing the rookie to squabble over crumbs effectively costing Alonso his 3rd straight title? Ferrari wanted Raikkonen because Luca di Montezemolo is happy for anyones head to roll except his own. Raikkonen, Massa, Stefano Domenicali, Luca Marmorini, Aldo Costa.. all high profile names who have paid for their job by not performing to Luca's liking. Its easier for Luca to blame individuals than it is for him to stop stuffing his pockets with FIAT and Marlboro money while all the Tifosi around the world are suffering. Kimi didnt lose anything in 2009. Fisichella is the proof in the pudding, the same guy who nearly beat Kimi at Spa in a Force India never saw the backside of Kimi again while he was driving a Ferrari. But obviously it was easier for Luca to blame Kimi, Luca Badoer, Fisichella, and Massa's tragic injury than it was for him to admit to the millions of fans around the world that Ferrari werent living up to expectations Alonso fan pls. Alonso did more than his fair share of immature things to cost them both the championship. Hungary 2007 springs to mind. Alonso has matured a lot since then, but in 2007 he was immature and he's only got himself to blame for not getting a 3rd title  Okay even if that paragraph was just hating on Luca De Montezemolo, it doesn't matter because it still proves that there is a reason for things happening in Formula 1, and makes it unbelievable for a rookie to step straight into a Ferrari. I never claimed Raikkonen did, I said allegedly. The Fisichella point is stupid. You acknowledged the fact that he swapped from Force India to Ferrari mid season, but assumed the reason he wasn't anywhere near to Kimi was because of their skill, rather than swapping a Formula 1 car mid season is difficult, and probably an irresponsible thing to do. You are looking back on Lewis' 2007 season with massively rose tinted glasses. He made countless rookie errors because he was a rookie driver, Alonso was fighting against internal politics, Max Mosley, and the British media.. McLaren threw away a certain World Championship by not backing up their No1 and gave Kimi a nice gift, they owe it to him anyway since they cost him in 03 and 05 through sheer incompetance. I didnt say Kimi wiped the floor with Fisichella based on skill? Kimi wiped the floor with Fisichella because the 2009 Ferrari was terrible, and instead of Luca di Montezemolo swallowing his pride he was happy for Luca Badoer and Kimi to cop the fallout. That Ferrari almost cost Kimi his career and ended Fisi's. LdM screwed over Badoer once again just like 1999 by not letting him see out the season in Massa's car. Fisi could've won the 2009 Italian Grand Prix in that Force India, but his passion clouded his better judgement. Kimi and Felipe could carry that Ferrari on their backs because they knew the chassis and could drive around all the faults. Badoer and Fisi never stood a chance, and no one would've done better in that car which effectively served as a flying cigarette pack billboard for most the season. 2 of the most legendary Ferrari drivers in history came in with very little experience: Gilles Villeneuve and Jean Alesi. Forza #27. Il Commendatore himself had a personal affection for Gilles and Alesi was cut from the same mould

Codies Big Challenge for 'F1 2015' (Career Mode)

You honestly think people will buy a GP2/GP3 game? You have constantly preached how Codemasters can only survive financially if they churn out generic arcade-centric F1 games as opposed to going down the simulation route, how the hell do you expect them to make money on a stand alone arcade-centric kid friendly game representing a series no one follows?

Mate even GP2 from 1995 put Codemasters to shame. Any camera, from any car, at any time. You could also seitch in and out of tv director mode at will
  16. Wynterdust seems to want Codemasters to have full control over everything. People are capable of making their own decisions and creating their own fantasies. People aren't asking Codemasters to part the red sea, its a basic request which would be common sense for anyone else but this is Codemasters we're dealing with here. Many strange things happen in motorsport, Kovalainen basically a rookie replaced Alonso at McLaren in 08.. what about the JPM/McLaren fall out or Williams inability to retain World Champions in the 90's... Or Ferrari firing Raikkonen only to sack Massa to facilitate re-hiring kimi. The point is this is motorsport, it is unpredictable, and people are capable of creating their own fantasy in the game. It is just a game after all

Weight Penalty in F1 2014 (CM Please read)

In short its a great and sensible idea that improves the depth of gameplay and is much more likely to sail straight over Codemasters heads than it is to appear in the game

What.. Luke !!! no more updates, video, screenshot

HennoGarvie said: You mean your next F1 2013 hot lap with F1 2014 sounds will be out soon. Can you just focus a decent PC version of the game, 'next gen' consoles are awful compared to PC, just do a decent PC title then develop a console title from that. If you have a PC what are you doing playing Codemasters F1? Get GP4, download mods and the jobs done.. GP4 Leagues are few and far between. Dont do single player, its shite. Yes Its shite from Codemasters, in GP4 its BETTER than racing online
  19. This forum has given new meaning to the phrase "don't hate the player, hate the game"...  unfortunately Codemasters have given us very little reason to doubt those words of wisdom

[VIDEO] F1 2014 Red Bull Ring Hot Lap

I don't remember him saying 'only' t-cam and cockpit views. He just said more. MUZZARIOL said: Can't tell you how much I absolutely hate how often the views change in CMs replays. I just want the regular TV angles like we see IRL. Not that difficult to understand and surely not that difficult to do. Codemasters arent trying to sell their games to people who watch F1 on TV.. their trying to sell their games to kids who buy COD, GTA, Pokemon and Super Mario (AKA the mass market).. These games will never represent real F1 sorry to say. Whoever designed those replay angles and thought it was exeptable should have his head served up on a plate at Bernie's HQ

One thing why am I really scared about F1 2015

^ amen. Instead Codemasters want to have full control of everything, they remind me of Apple. I dont know about you guys but on my game Codemasters have actually made Chilton one of the star drivers, he outqualifies Maldonado, Bottas, Ricciardo, Sutil, Grosjean, and Gutierrez at various events.
  22. It makes sense to let people choose. Its their game, its their "Career"... If people want to be more realistic they can replace the "No2" driver, its a simple choice. Anything can happen in motorsport, look at Mika Hakkinen or Casey Stoner... both those guys still had so much to offer when they retired, whos to say that wont happen again? Kimi was effectively a rookie when he took Mika's seat

[VIDEO] F1 2014 Red Bull Ring Hot Lap

For some reason Codemasters replay angles are shockingly bad, looks like they were tailored to 10 year old kids or people with 5 second attention spans. I know thats the core demographic Codemasters are trying to cater to, I cant image anyone else being amused by the psuedo cinematic constantly panning and changing camera angles

What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS

They failed to deliver on that promise. Sure the graphics are much better but no other aspect matches up to GP3 or GP4 at all.. Id even stretch that back to include GP2 aswell to be frank.
