@Bertje1989 what you're describing sounds like the difficulty of driving a heavy car with cold tyres in the beginning of a race. The issue gets accentuated on 50% and 100% races as the fuel load is drastically bigger and as far as I know those things are not scaled on the handling model to be equal across all race lengths.

Do you experience similar issues when you pit for a set of hard (and cold) tyres as well? It does not need to be the same feeling; if the handling is at least comparable, I'd totally chalk it off as being what @SIMRACER123 said. A heavy car with sub optimal rubber is no joke to handle.

It's exactly as you describe there, the thing with the hard tyres as well. I guess I'd better start practicing 😂

It's probably a reassuring thing if it's just needing practice.

Why not try going onto grand prix mode and selecting a 50% race, do the first 5 laps then click on "restart session" and the car is placed back on the grid and you can start again and do the early laps once more over and over.

Might be a quicker way to practice driving the early part of the race.

I think I'll follow your suggestion, so I can practice my starts also.

Driving in FP with the race amount of fuel isn't perfect as the grip of the track is different then in the race.

    Thanks for your replies

Would you say that after 3-5 laps your roughly on pace with the AI?

The AI to me atleast are just very quick at the start and then ease off a touch. If your back on pace after a few laps it may just be a case of practice.

I have this as wel agains AI as wel ass in Online. But I'm guessing I needmore practice I guess 🙂

There isn't really a lot of information to be going from here to know how you approach the first few laps.

    Could it be either

    1) Your just lacking a bit of practice driving on cold tyres with heavy fuel ?

    2) Your not selecting the optimum fuel/overtake modes at the right point as the AI are pretty quick at the start

    3) possible set up issues

When you say your struggling, what are you struggling with specifically ?

Thank you for your quick reply,

I'm struggling with the handling of the car. So, I'm guessing it's a combined problem with my skills and setups. I tried making/using setups with info from this topic which work great. The only problem I'm encountering is that I'm lacking pace the first 2/3 laps. My starts are sometimes good, sometimes bad, but this is something that needs some more practice from my side.

I tried different setups and ride heights as well as on some setups the car seemed to bottom out. But making the car a bit higher didn't help me. So I was wondering if there's something else setupwise to help out or if it's just me need to do more practice.

    Many thanks in advance!

  5. So, after a few weeks I did several races online and offline and I'm struggling with the car the first few laps in a 50% race. I'm aware the car handles differently because of the fuel and extra weight that comes with it. But somehow I keep struggling the first few laps, after that it gets a bit better. After the first stop I the car handles like it should.

So, after trying different setups this issue remains for me. I can imagine there are some things I can try to overcome this but I'm stuck atm. Hopefully someone in here is having some suggestions to try?

i'm using T500 normally in F1 2020 on PS4. But it doesnt work if i have my shifter plugged in too.. try to only plug wheel, and when game is loading and is asking you to press any button, press button on wheel, not on pad.

I use a T500 to on PS4 and for me it works doing this:

    • Startup your PS4
    • Connect your wheel
    • Start the game with your pad and push on the circle button of your wheel immediately after starting the game
    • Wait until your wheel calibrates again

Now your wheel should be recognized by the game.

  7. 1.       A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here.

When you enter any track in time trial there is no gobal times of other players
    2.       What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen)

    PS4 1.03
    3.       Game-mode?

    Time Trial
    4.       What are your replication numbers? Minimum test attempts are 4. Please also add EXACT replication steps for us to try too.

This happens everytime I startup TimeTrial and it happens on all tracks

    5.       What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue

    Restart PS4, restarting my router
    6.       What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc)

    Gamepad / Wheel (Thrustmaster T500rs)

    7.       Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears.

No screenshots, but all TT Leaderbords are empty. The game says downloading content for a while on the top left corner of my screen, it disappears but no times and/or rivals are getting loaded.

  8. I think it would be nice to see some features like:

    • Practice mode with all kind of options like equal car performance and the E-Sports car
    • Ability to practice racestarts
    • Quick pitstop in qualy when having enough fuel for another lap
    • Assign separate buttons for ERS, Fuel mix, Diff and or brake balance without opening the menu of the OSD screen
    • More realistic ERS (Ability to make maps for race and qualifying for example)

Other possible improvements can be adjustments to FFB (For more realistic and precise steering/driving) also in my opinion the cars in F1 2019 are having to much understeer. F1 cars should be more pointy with steering.
