So is this going to be a half-a***d effort as well then

    This time next year
"were moving some of our focus onto the 2017 title, whilst still  working on fine tuning features in 2016"
I don't understand how they have the resources to do two games at once with the 7 staff they have left.
  2. Well i expect F1 2015 to be on a new Engine, so maybe, just maybe it might be a new game not a re-skinned, re-sounded version of last years F1 game.
They couldn't make a bug riddled free game after FIVE years with the old engine........What exactly do you expect them to do with a brand new engine?

F1 2014 is a great game. Maybe the best in the series.
Grid Autosport is a great game. have had a ton of fun racing in my league so far with the game.

It's the lack of communication about a patch, and lack of a patch to fix the glaring problems with F1 2014 that is the issue. The pad vs wheel difference has killed most of the league racing this year. The frequency of rain has made those surviving league either run with dry conditions all the time or create their own way of predicting when to use dynamic weather.

There still hasn't been official word that there will not be a patch... last mention was there were still deciding.... lol

I've pre-ordered this game and paid full price for it every year since F1 2010. But, after the lack of support from the game producers this year, i will not be buying F1 2015.  My faith in CM has been broken this year. I'm done.

GRID A/S is a good game.....Know why? It works. It's fair and problems were fixed (took a while but they were fixed)

I am not boycotting Codemasters as a whole......But I am boycotting Codemasters Birmingham. The people there are clearly not up to the job.

It's obvious really. I mean where does the real talent go? To the big companies. Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA and Activision and affiliated studio's. And all the irrelevant companies (and in the grand scheme of things, Codemasters are now irrelevant to the gaming world, they could disappear and no one would notice, someone would pick up the license and that would be that) get the interns......The young guys just starting their career, or the sub par developers and programmers that couldn't get a better paid job at a bigger company.

There has  not been one single iteration of F1 from Codemasters (7th gen) that hasnt had stupid, avoidable problems. Invisible Walls, floating bollards, worn tyres put on in pit stops, crazy lapped cars that try and take you out,  lag, disconnects, pad v wheel issue, every dynamic race is wet, and on and on and on.........

I'm not even bothered at this point. Not even angry anymore. I actually feel now like it's a good riddance, you won't be getting my money, I will forget about you, wait for you to go under (And if anyone is under any illusions that Codemasters isn't going under then they are in some vehement denial)  and then wait for a proper developer with proper staff to pick up the license./

And their customer service! Oh Lord their customer service  :D

  4. There is quite obviously a reason why they won't confirm one way or the other. Take that as an answer instead of spamming the forums with the same questions and demands.

Simple as this: If there was an answer they could give, they would give it. What is it with this generation that everything is a conspiracy of some sort? Ask yourself this: If the game is so bad and you dislike the way the forum is run, what on earth are you still doing here? Who's really the fool in that case?

    Haha.
There isn't going to be a patch and they are ignoring us because its easier.

And as long as you and people like you (although...on evidence...only you) have their tongue firmly implanted in Codies a**e they can continue to act like this.

I've seen you in a thread talking about track limits when the guy was talking about a COMPLETELY UNRELATED glitch. Yep.......Gave me a good idea of you in a nutshell.

Whoa....Theres codies unzipping its jeans........gobble gobble eh?
  5. Haha. I liked around the 45 second mark.

''We;re hearing apologies. We're hearing apologies from game makers. They're being up front and saying we know all this is bad, we're trying to fix it. We're sorry''

    Meanwhile at Codemasters

''Bwahahahaha. Apologise to these idiots? Nah. Make the game playable? Nah. Let's just laugh at these mugs, and then laugh even harder over champagne when they all go out and get F1 2015.''

Something that did become apparent over the series were how problematic some of the issues were, just how deep they went. That's something they are actively trying to rectify with the upcoming game and I sincerely hope it works out as planned.
...there I was thinking you CM were making the new F1 game from the scratch in order to rectifying, precisely, this  persistent clusterf*** you guys farted when modifying an engine that insubstantial and lacking in the most basic department about physics and feedback, such as ego.

Evolution Studios developed annual brand new engines, one for each entry of their WRC series. All of them ended up being practically pristine when It came to finding bugs. Needless speak about their unbeatable graphical quality, combined with also excellent physics and 60FPS rate (on a PS2). Now tell me programming for PS2 wasn't that hard, or that you can't compare resources/teams/money, or that times have changed, or whatever. Make my day Steve.
Oh wow, here you are admitting they may well be using an engine that is not up to the task, hardly news that one.  Do you really expect him or any other employee with their job on the line to say otherwise, effectively bagging the franchise?  Yes some individuals do it, but you are a fool to expect it and he could be sued for doing it.  Once again you don't know his or their situation compared to Evolution Studios.  One can only facepalm so hard before it begins to hurt.
One can only facepalm at how much you seem to know about people you've never met and what knowledge or skills they have.

Oh it's Friday as well, so you get the next two days off school to harrass the internet with your oh so clever arrogance and clairvoyance.

It is a poor shepherd that blames his flock
Only a fool would presume those statements to be true.  Many a battle has been lost despite good leadership.  I have no idea of the inner workings of this project, but having read these forums over the years and having bought each game except for the last one, I feel for those working on it.  I do not know who is to blame for the issues and neither do you.
Yeah I do. The people making the game. And the people above them have to take responsibility.

Catch up. World's only worked like that for oooooohh, 500 years.
Oh my oh my. You know who is to blame do you?  It would seem you and many others blame one person, yet I seriously doubt you know the limitations of the project, such as budget, the engine, upper, middle and lower management, ownership etc. Yet here you are casting a blanket over all who are involved.  You said "he had years", yet I do not for a second believe you know what is truly involved, nor do I believe you know what restrictions he faced, whether it be game engine, budget, employees or his own ability.

Then you say "The people making the game. And the people above them have to take responsibility", so Steve fits where exactly, makng the game or above those making the game.  Bit odd, though not surprising since you seem to be all over the place on this one.  So how much exactly is Steve's fault since you KNOW?

Common sense has worked for more than 500 years...as you say, catch up.
    Edited.

Realised that the original post I made went against my policy of not  arguing with  cretins on the internet.

So much fail in one post it nearly blew up my PC.

Got a bit of a theory on this.

First off, I imagine Steve isn't a bad bloke (I didn't see where he blamed his team for the series' faults), but this does appear to be a good move for all parties. Steve appears to have been a victim of his refusal to listen to the fans, and the fact that he made the games he wanted, rather than what the fans wanted, and not give the fan choice, an example being the full race weekend. He didn't want it, it didn't go in, same with car failures etc. The introduction of the safety car was a highlight, even if it's implementation was and remains broken. His failure to fix a number of issues was also a defining point. I look forward to the games taking a different direction.

Now going back down his twitter timeline, he tweeted "If only there was an F1 manager game". Now we know Steve is a big F1 fan, and we know this was an aspect he was always keen on, so maybe, someone has thought to make an F1 Manager series, and Steve has gone for it. From a selfish point of view, I hope so, I'd love an F1 Manager game, even if Steve developed it!

When asked if real racers could come in to the studio to give them tips on handling etc.... He replied something along the lines of ''We're good for that, it's the development staff we need''

You don't say things like that when you're happy with your staff.

soooo.... will we see a patch? or just more ship jumping?
when's the last time hatta was here... maybe he left too?
Why would anyone leave Hatta's job?

*Read people raging about the state of the game.
*Say some stuff about passing it on to devs
    *Pickup the paycheck.

No-one's jumping that ship, not in a million years. Would you quit that job? I wouldn't.

Ban pads, simple as, if those are times round Australia by the way thats not really that fast.
They are the best times from the first stint. Only 2 seconds slower than qualy. Well, 2 seconds slower for the pad. 4 for the wheel.

You show me you doing a 1:28 on the 3rd lap with a wheel if it's not that fast. Thats on a 100% race by the way. None of this 50% kiddy stuff.
If its in the race that's fairly fast, I don't do 50% races only 100% and the second lap is in the 28s, quali is low 25s, just ban pads and be done with it.
    Not an option  I'm afraid.

    1. We'd lose half the league and some guys that have been round a long time and: 2. I'm not sure how RaceDepartment, the site that hosts our league would feel about us marginalising people. Actually I think they'd be dead against it.

Do you race in a league that has banned pads? I went on to AOR this afternoon and they also allow pads.  I was planning to sign up there if they were wheel only but they're not.

  13. With the whole idea of having a grid with 2 separate classes.

This pad v wheel thing is a catastrophic oversight.

First league race of the season last night. (We started late because we were waiting for a patch. How dumb are we?) First stint, myself and our double champion doing 1:30's. A guy on the pad doing 1:28's.
A double champion going 2 seconds slower when he's been 2 seconds faster in all games previous.

Its sick man. A shocking way to program a game.

I'm on the verge of giving up on a league I've been with for 5 years now, thats how bad it is.

Screw you Codies. And screw you Steve Hood for releasing a broken game then jumping ship when the time came to be held accountable.

You are a coward, and I'll be making sure to keep track of where you go next so I can safely avoid them.

  14. He's probably resigned because he publicly blamed his staff for the games problems.

The guys not a bad bloke I don't think. It's just that he's never up front with anything which has given off an air of dishonesty around him.

The last F1 game was the least creative thing I've ever seen, so I don't understand why he would need to be there.

This is a good thing. Nothing was going to change with Hood at the helm. He had years to get it right and all he does is blame the technology available and the staff under him. Bit cowardly if you ask me.

It's not being repaired though. They just say it is.  All resources will now be on the pc version.  The xbox is too old.
    Absolute rubbish, stop your trolling.

Afraid I don't have any further updates, I have given the team a prod and will let you know as soon as I hear anything.
    Codemasters don't like being trolled.

    Well....guess what.......NEITHER DO I!!!

Is the game going to be fixed or are you gonna troll us for another 2 months?

Speaking of hypocrites... You call people "whiners" and complain about their "bitching," while you simultaneously complain about "abuse" and "arguments." You're just calling people names & throwing out personal insults (again).

Speaking of hypocrites... You post on a forum to say that CM should close the forum. If the forum is not to your own personal liking, then should it be shut down for everyone? Or should you just stop visiting the forum that you say you're bored of?

Speaking of hypocrites... Why does your post here on a game forum have nothing at all to do with the game itself? Stay in the off-topic section if all you want to talk about is how bored you are with the "rubbish" on this forum.

Now THATS the correct use of the word.

Not everyones a 3rd grade educated moron it seems. Hallelujah.
  17. All the rubbish about 'freezing issues' on grid autosport.... People getting refunds, people actually taking it so personally that they throw abuse about to others and the company that made the game.... You want a patch out so badly, if you want it done properly then why are you rushing it? Would you rather wait a little longer and have the patch with no other issues or would you rather demand it now and have the possibility of needing another patch to fix another issue that arises because it were rushed???

The way I see this is, there's many more games out there, if u don't like freezing up then don't play the game until it is patched? All this forum is filled with is whiners. Bored of looking at it now along with many others
I will respond when you learn what a hypocrite is and can spell 'hypocrites' and actually use the word in the manner it is meant to be used.

Nothing you just said would warrant the use of the word hypocrites. Please look up words meaning s before you use them.
  18. Does every thread get hijacked by Testosterone fuelled angry virgins? This place is becoming unbearable.

To OP. Maybe you are only trying quick races. Lots more available in Custom events, try there.

I'm sorry a simple question turned in to this. Sign of the times.
