    F1 2019 car sounds

I don't have the game so I can't fully judge but after having watched streams and gameplay videos I'm a but puzzled by the car sounds in F1 2019. Namely, why is it that all the cars resemble a vacuum cleaner in cockpit view? They don't have the engine sound, they just whistle. In replays and regarding other cars you can hear that their sounds are great, but your own car just whistles. I mean videos like this, and there are many others. Now, the very first video Codemasters has released of F1 2019, where Daniel Ricciardo is driving in Bahrein has a completely fine engine sound to it. I mean this video. The sound is perfectly fine here but in the final game (at least from the videos and live streams) all I can hear is the whistling of the car, no matter which one the player drives. Is it really like this in the game or is something just lost in video/audio encoding?

    [F1 2019] Lukas and Devon

I want real drivers in Career, just as in prior F1 games. I think it should stay true to the sport and not force this made-up selection of drivers on us. It's an officially licensed game after all, so no need to replace real drivers in the field. It would definitely make the experience less immersive, especially if these new characters replace big names at big teams.

    [F1 2019] Lukas and Devon

I guess the answer is no but it has to be asked. Will it be possible to disable this "rivals" feature in F1 2019's career mode? It's absolutely not realistic to have two fictional characters in the field, replacing two real drivers in the process. And I personally wouldn't like to see this story mode-esque cut-scene drama in an F1 game. It's fine in GRID or whatever but not in F1. It would be welcome if we had the option to turn these two chaps off.

    FINALLY, GRID 2019!

If it runs at 60 fps on consoles, I'm in. Otherwise I'll pass. I'm done with the jerky 30 fps totally motion-blurred Ego-engine graphics. F1 and DiRT are great as they are, I seriously hope Codemasters won't sacrifice performance for flashy effects for the arcade crowd.

    Missing Impreza?

I can confirm the Impreza is not in the garage on Xbox still. I've seen it before for purchase but since the shop's stock is rotating it can't be purchased right now. I got the Focus fine. Restarting doesn't help.

    AI Times Are Completely Off

I would call this many things but realistic. 🙂

    AI Times Are Completely Off

I don't really have a major problem with the field (as you can see from the times) but one AI car has an unrealistic time. It can't be so much faster than the rest while the whole field is more or less on the same level. This is what bugs me about this. Is it so different between classes? Maybe I should try a different car class which has more realistic AI times?
  8. I know this has been discussed before but yesterday I played more Career mode and I found something completely off. I hope you can see the attached photo. It is the end result of the New Zealand rally in "Clubman" tier. Yes, I'm the Hungarian dude in second place. But there is something absolutely incredible going on there if you look at the final times. How come there is one AI that completes the rally (6 stages) 1 minute 20 seconds faster than any other AI cars? How can it be so much faster when it's only "Clubman" difficulty? I would agree I must be a noob if every AI was faster than me but you can see I completed the rally quite well, I beat all of them (I won 3 stages out of 6) but yet that one AI is ridiculously faster than all the others. Like that S. Bernard was from another tier completely. This is what makes Career mode so hard to enjoy. You go extremely well, in the green, you win stages but then the game decides that one AI is 1:20 faster than the rest, and 0:36 faster than you. How does the game simulate these times? And why does this happen at even the second difficulty level? On a different note, I was playing in Free Play as well and it is ridiculous. I put the AI difficulty down to minimum (1/100)! When I drove the R5 VW Golf, I could win any stage with huge amounts of time, I mean even more than a minute. Obviously not a challenge. However, at the same difficulty I switched to the H2 FWD class (VW Golf) and I lost every stage, the AI was way too fast, even on the minimum difficulty setting. Something must be glitched in this game because there's no way there's so much difference in my driving between different classes. This makes the game completely unpredictable, random and very hard to enjoy.

Darkness and rain all the time

Today I started my next rally in "Career" mode (it's such a bare-bones mode I have to put it in ""). Spain. 6 stages. Only 2 stages are dry, but both of them are at night. Three are daytime but wet, and one is both night and wet. So basically there are no sunny, dry conditions during this rally. None out of 6 stages. I think it's highly unrealistic. Yes, custom championship are fine but they are pointless since they don't give you money or any kind of progression.

    Inconsistent A.I

OK, Career difficulty is completely glitched I think. It's one thing that the game doesn't let me win any stage by ramping up the difficulty in Clubman. But the AI times seem completely random, too. I just finished a few stages in Spain. First stage: I did a VERY GOOD time, the game told me at the end that I was second by only 0:0.180 seconds. But then, at the stage result list I suddenly had more than 2 seconds gap. Second stage: I won the stage (finished with green) by 0:0.368 seconds. Almost four tenths. Then, at the stage result screen I had a 14 second gap behind the "class leader". I mean *** is going on? I do my best, drive as fast as I possibly can and the game just throws around these random times to push me back in the standings? And all this on the second difficulty level? Why is there no middle ground between Open and Clubman? I can't even imagine what other difficulties would look like. Meanwhile my stage times are comfortably in the top 1000 on the leaderboards. This is completely unenjoyable at this point, I see no point of playing the "Career". I would accept this result on higher difficulty settings but there's simply no option between winning every stage by a minute to losing every single one of them by a mile. Why can't the AI get faster only by a reasonable amount? It's either ridiculously slow or unbeatable? For reference, I did "Open" with H1 FWD and trying "Clubman" with Group A (AWD). But my view is that no matter what class you choose, difficulty should ramp up gradually, not like this. Something's clearly not right here.

Darkness and rain all the time

The developers played too much... Heavy Rain... Sarcasm aside, I think they try to balance the lack of content and make it more varied by making it always rain and night. I think building more locations into the base game instead of selling it as DLC would have helped but who am I to judge.

    Inconsistent A.I

There is something I don't understand: In the "Open" rally championship (the very first one) I could win every stage even if I didn't try, by 30-60 seconds, sometimes even more. It was ridiculously easy. I was looking forward to the next level. Now, in the "Clubman" championship (the second level) the AI is impossible to beat for me. I drive more or less the same, but I get 30-60 seconds / stage! And that's not including any mistakes because I'm not always flawless. What gives? Is there no middle ground? You either beat the AI even by driving in reverse, the next level it's impossible? I don't really understand. And if we have a difficulty slider in Free Play why can't we utilize it in Career? For reference, I have no problem beating the "AI challenge" events with any car, and my leaderboard times are usually in the top 1000, sometimes in the top 300 (cross-platform). I don't think I'm that bad but the very second difficulty level makes me look like that. Either my game is bugged and the AI times became ridiculous or is this a design choice?
