Depends, if you think better graphics and first person mode is worth it then get it. Tbh I played the PS4 version today and wasn't that impressed by the graphics upgrade. For me paying full price for it isn't worth it, especially when I already did that for PS3. I'll wait to see how the PC version is, but really this should've been cheaper than other games as its a re release. Just my oppinion. They knew all along they were going to port it to next gen, but banked on people buying it twice so couldn't say that...

Ok so everything isn't ok in Far Cry 4. When I save it myself, it shows that it's saved but when. I come back it hasn't! Only way to get it to save is starting a mission....wtf Edit: Found a fix on Ubi forum, turning off cloud saves fixes it.

Haha the little mini chopper in Far Cry 4 is awesome! As I ran to it I said "get to the chopper" (in Arnold Schwarzenegger voice) lol o:)

Bleep sake Ubisoft, sort your rubbish pooplay out. Servers are down so I can't play Far Cry 4 http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/uplay.ubi.com.html

Wow I love the PC community. Someone posted a fix for stuttering and it also lowers the Vram usage from 3GB to 2GB. After doing the fix you must set it to read only. :) Originally Posted by dhabulin Well, after some experimenting i found one way to get rid of this stuttering. Stutter almost completely gone. I noticed that game now uses around 1700MB VRAM, and before that was around 2600MB. Not sure what is that setting for. Quick test shows no visual difference in game. Further testing required. Please report back your findings.

Well they won't look so good for 4K gaming, but for 1080p the 980 will still be a fantastic card ;) Wouldn't be so sure, my 780 was fantastic when I bought it, now it's not already :# Posted about FC4 in the game thread. I can just about get 60fps but only at 1080p without using soft shadows and only using smaa. Think it's to do with the Nvidia effects, as Ubisoft never optimize them very well. When a new card comes out devs mainly work on performance of that, so the older gen suddenly becomes bad. Edit: New driver out which is meant to improve Far Cry 4 performance. Let's hope it does then The driver didn't improve anything for me :(

It's an ok card, but not enough for me at 2560x1440p resolution it seems. The 980 isn't that much better and only has 1GB more Vram. Should talk about this in the PC thread bud, as I've posted why I won't get a 980. The next cards will have a lot more Vram.

Sorry for triple posting, didn't notice nobody had posted. @RevolvingPrawn If this comes to the next GPU's the 980 won't look so good. Should mean they have atleast 8GB of vram, I hope so as 4GB isn't enough imo. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/sk-hynix-8ghz-3d-stackable-gddr5-memory.html

@RevolvingPrawn Ahh going to need a better GPU if I want to max games out. FC4 uses all my Vram and won't hit 60fps. I suspect if I turn the extra Nvidia effects off I'd be ok but I like them, like the Fur effect. Just trying different things to see what I can use. Running 1440p is straining my GPU :( The 780 isn't old lol a It's why I haven't bought a 980, as I'm worried that won't even last a year. And I have to watch the long first cutscene again, I thought it had saved but it didn't, and you can't skip it. It's a pre rendered scene and actually looks worse than the actual game lol Turned down my res from 1440p to 1080p and it runs at 60fps. When using 1440p it tanks down to 37fps, still more than the "next gen" consoles even at the high res but I'm going to stick with 1080p.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I have a lot more to say on the subject, but there's not much point when we'll never agree on this. ;)

It's not just that though, you often end up paying more for the unfinished game than the full release. "The report also noted that, on average, Early Access releases on Steam actually cost more than full release games. Walker wrote that Steam hasn't taken any heat for these relatively dismal numbers, and has in fact actually legitimized the idea of paying to beta test games. But it also suggests that it could become an issue if the trend of excessively long Early Access periods, or abandoned Early Access releases, continues."
-
Early access games, this is why I don't trust them. http://www.pcgamer.com/only-25-percent-of-early-access-games-have-made-it-to-full-release-eedar-says/

Probably won't be playing Far Cry 4 tonight, it's going to take a few more hours yet and I'll probably be too tired by then. I still haven't completed the FC3 story yet, which I'm trying to get through now :)

Who's fighting? We've been posting on the Ubisoft forum, he turned up and I joked he stalked me. Then he said we derailed the thread there and said we'd be bad train drivers, which is where the choo choo comment came from ;) We are just messing about bud lol
-
Choo choo o:)
-
I see your posts on the Ubi forums ;) Strange thing saying it had no space. Yea but it's Ubisoft so nothing is ever simple, stalker :p Don't like that forum though, you have to type in one of those 6 letter things, which I always find hard to read as I'm blind o:)

@RevolvingPrawn Bloody annoyed right now. Far Cry 4 won't preload a surprise surprise Ubisoft messed up. It's now working for some (some in the UK) but not others like me. Even worse it seems to be unlocked as people are playing it now :\
-
Ok I found a thread with people who have the same animation glitch http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/731942-Far-Cry-3-NPC-Shaking-!-Forums I'm just reading through it to see if anyone fixed it. Edit: People are saying it's linked to vsync, but I've always played it with it on so I'm not sure why it's started now... Ok it does seem vsync is the cause of my problems with FC3.
-
@RevolvingPrawn Did you see that pic of Far Cry 3 I sent you in a pm on Twitter? Messed up isn't it :(
-
Ok cheers bud, I'm going to wait for now as I have too many games to play as it is (and possibly FC4) but I'll defiantly get it at some point. :)
-
Lol what's these discs you talk about, in my day we had cassette tapes :p Amazon costs a lot more than Zavvi but as I've never pre ordered a game from them it could take a while. Amazon costs about the same as the digital version on Ubi store, you also get a free copy of Far Cry 2 but I already have that for PC.
-
Yea it does look like an awesome game, and I'll probably change my mind and buy it tomorrow lol How come you went for the disc version? Did you get it cheaper than digital or something? Zavvi actually have it for £29.99 which is much cheaper than anywhere else, but not sure how long it would take to be delivered...
-
@RevolvingPrawn Still can't make my mind up about buying FC4. In FC3 I'm getting some messed up bugs. The enemy keep going weird, the best way to explain it is like a strobe light :# I didn't get this problem when I first got it when using my 670. I also get textures slow to load, and when I use the glider objects pop in like crazy, and I don't remember that happening when I first got the game. As 4 is basically 3.5 these problems could happen in the new game. I might re instal the game as I have the disc version, so it shouldn't take too long. I also don't like the fact Ubisoft are charging the same as the next gen consoles when they put little work into the PC version, it's not like they have to pay M$ or $ony so really they should be cheaper. Plus you can't sell a used PC game like you can on consoles.
-
I seem to have a weird problem in Far Cry 3. When I'm in a gun fight, some of the bad guys go weird. They sorta flicker so I can't actually tell where their body or head is...... It's hard to explain but I didn't have this problem when I first got the game :#
