@garyjpaterson I believe they are to stop them sagging if you run Sli so that they are spaced out properly, not sure what you buy to screw into them though... Just searched and a thread came up posted by you in another forum and somebody said the same as me.

You must have a very loud PSU then :o You shouldn't be able to hear the fan in a PSU really. The only one I had that was loud was a Corsair one, which is why I won't touch one ever again. I know you love everything Corsair, but they really aren't as good as you think ;). They do make good products but their PSU's are awful. Haha yea, it's stupidly loud! But the trouble is it's one of the very first HX series one's so it's a bit outdated :p Gonna be replacing it with Xmas money for a HX850i so I can link it to the H100i so after that it won't be a problem. Apparently that one only spins the fan once it goes above 400w usage so it should be a bit quieter ;) Not gonna deny that they aren't great, but the trouble now is I've got a bunch of blue braided PSU cables from Corsair and they only fit in their PSU's, if other manufacturers used the same pins it'd be ok, but for me it'd be a waste to have to remove all these cables and go for a different one. Plus the Corsair PSU's look good ;) Bad choice bud, that's the one I had that had a stupidly loud fan.... Yes it only comes on at 400w or at a certain temp, but when it does it's loud. :# I had a duff one but it's quite a common problem, looks like this guy had the same problem, although on top of that mine made a clicking noise which Corsair tried to say was normal but Overclockers said it wasn't lol http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110646 I hope yours works as intended though. I suppose you have to stick with them though because of the cables.

Talking of noise, I have a high pitched noise coming from somewhere :# Its not coming from any of the fans. I think it could be coming from my Asus Xonar D2X sound card. It doesn't do it every time I turn my PC on and where I sit I can't hear it. The only way to know is to take the soundcard out, but it has an extra power source which is fiddly to plug in so I'm going to leave it for now.

I never said it was bad but it's not as good ;) Some custom coolers at idle don't have the fan spinning, or at a very slow rpm. Why I never get a reference cooler is because they are noisy compared to a custom cooler. The last one I had that was reference was a ATI 5850 (now AMD) although I know the one Nvidia uses is a lot better. Nvidia cards work to a temp target which is 82c (boost 2.0) although you can change that yourself. After that they don't boost so high, like you said they are fine at 95c but I'd never let my card go above 85c.

Sounds good to me dude, you'll get a headstart on me if you get it on release :p Got my dispatch email from Amazon earlier so I'm not expecting it early :( I totally get your concern, atm I'm just hoping that because the games use different engines it'll be ok. But this is Ubisoft, there's bound to be problems. This is PC bud, you can't play early even if you get it a day early ;) I haven't actually bought it yet. I might wait for reviews, especially as Ubisoft refuse to give sites the code as that seems shady to me.

Tbh I put less on my GPU than I did my CPU, so maybe if I re did that it would drop as well. I wasn't expecting it to drop that much though, buts it's inline with what reviews say. Remember you only have the reference cooler which is nowhere near as good (although the reference one looks awesome)

@RevolvingPrawn So it seems when I changed from water cooling back to air I put too much thermal paste on my GPU. While playing Far Cry 3 earlier it went upto 78c and I thought that was too high considering the cooler I have. Changed it and now it's down to 68c while playing FC3 :D
-
@RevolvingPrawn Not sure if you missed my concerns about FC4 on the previous page, but if I do buy it we could play co-op :)
-
Think you mean Bristol City not Bradford ;) Unless Bradford did as well.

Did you not read about how the new manager makes them train? There was something written about it when he first came, while the Holland manager many players got muscle injuries because of it. Here's the first link that popped up about it when I searched. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2818806/Manchester-United-broken-record-Louis-van-Gaal-s-35-injuries-worst-league-start-1986.html

Yeah the one with 75% off so is it third or first person? It's 3rd person bud. If they'd made it 1st person it would have played weirdly, that's for sure! @Hughesy My god I hope this happens and isn't just a mistake :p http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/11/15/are-forza-horizon-2-and-sunset-overdrive-coming-to-pc I hope not actually, otherwise what's the point in having an Xbox One?

Yea I have noise cancelling foam stuck to the top of my WD Black as it did the same thing, also have the whole cage done and no problems. I see why you get low temps now then, pretty pointless buying a high end cooler and a k series cpu and not overclock it but that's just me. You would actually feel a difference as you tend to get a higher average framerate (especially as you run a high hz monitor.) Still I suppose if you do need extra performance in the future you can overclock. You pay a premium for the K series, so it's very rare to see someone not overclock it like you. ;) On my my motherboard I don't even have to do anything, just press a button. It doesn't overclock as high as I could get it myself but it's enough for me (4.2ghz)

I know I could download Prime95, but I don't see the point bud. That puts it at 100% load, but it's unrealistic. Most of the time gaming will be the heaviest load I put on my PC so I'm just looking at those temps and I'm happy with them :) Yea it's not really just for temps but for stability when overclocking, anyway glad you're happy with it ;)
-
Games don't really test the cpu fully bud, you need to download a program called Prime95. Still good temps but none of those games are cpu intensive ;)

If Corsair did one with a 360rad I'd buy one in a flash. One thing though, you can't change the coolent which is crazy. In a waterloop you need to change it every 12 months, so eventually that 100i will degrade mate. So basically you have to buy a whole new cooler, but with the way you upgrade that probably won't be a problem lol

I'm on to Halo 2 now :) This is the one that got the biggest upgrade I think, as its the one they kept showing off. Can't wait to get to Halo 4, as I never played it. I was mainly buying games for my PC by the time it was released so never bought it. I haven't played any multiplayer yet as I'm trying to sharpen up my Halo skills first. My mate and I made a kickass team, I would drive the warthog and he would shoot. Wow the Halo 2 cutscenes are awesome, full cgi and looks like a film :o

Yeah it is good fun so far I'm just trying to remember how to get out of the 343 guilty spark facility I'll remember how to get out eventually as I've already done it on PC it's just trying to remember from that on the remastered graphics. I can definitely see myself enjoying these 4 games for a long time if Halo 1 in the MCC is anything to go by. Yea I got stuck at the same point, it was driving me insane lol If you are completly stuck just read this ;) http://uk.ign.com/wikis/halo-master-chief-collection/343_Guilty_Spark

I'm on the last mission of Halo 1 :) It's been fun, brings back good memories.

@RevolvingPrawn Hmm might hold off buying FC4, Ubisoft pulling the same crap they did with Unity. There's only one reason why they'd not allow reviews before the game is out http://www.pcgamer.com/why-our-far-cry-4-review-is-delayed/ The reason console reviews are coming out is becasue Ubisoft held a "review event" lol whatever that is... Oh and I forgot to say, It's the same team that made Unity on PC making FC4 on PC....Goodluck bud :#
-
Thank you, pretty funny isn't it o:)
-
Lol this almost made me wee myself :o AC Unity is a mess. http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=hhl5yjMY0Ws If anyone wants to get the actual video on here feel free, but it never works for me (I'm doing something wrong as usual probably)
-
I can't say until some reviews are out for it.
-
Sounds smashing :D All those extra gimmicks yet it still isn't as comfortable in your hands ;) And the fact a lot of people game with headphones on, so it's pointless for them... While playing the PS4 ive never noticed the light bar, Killzone uses it but never once did I notice while playing. The swipe pad is the only good thing added to the controller imo.
-
Yea I went ahead and and started with part 1, I'm on part three now :) I never played the first game so I haven't a clue what's going on...
