Looking forward to buying Rocket League on Nintendo Switch. For some reason I haven't bought it on PC even though I love football and I love cars. It's a shame it's not out before I go to Silverstone, so I could play it between races lol.
-
I pretty much just did reliability because I'm McLaren, but I'm only at Silverstone and I'm using my last engine....

It comes back, it doesn't last the whole race, try losing all proper shifts like I did. I'd say it's fine how it is, 50% wear means it's likely to develop a fault, just like 50% tyre wear means you lose quite a bit of performance. It's also quite easy to drive around losing 1 gear without losing much time, thankfully the ai also suffer the same wear, plus it gives you a reason to upgrade the gearbox. Also bear in mind a worn control electronics means other components wear faster and are more likely to develop faults.

Even the police are ripping into Arsenal, total shambles :joy: https://twitter.com/dorsetpolice/status/903208604383285249

So this happened, somebody explain how. So yea Montreal is my best track, but still. I'm in a McLaren, I have the worst car as I've mainly done reliability upgrades as seen bellow. I got to Q3 for the first time, which is surprising considering the car I'm driving at a power circuit and broken qualifying. My car was the slowest in the speed trap, yet I qualified 1st. Car rating, look how slow it is compared to the Sauber lol. My pole time in a McLaren. My main issue was I wasn't expecting it, so I used an old gearbox. Once I came 1st I didn't want to change it. In the race all was going well, I lost 5th at one point, but with 3 laps to go I was 3rd, but then it went. Shifts went really bad, so it would take like 2-3 seconds to shift up or down. Going up was ok as I'd just anticipate it, but downshifts I couldn't do that, as it would only downshift one at a time every few seconds, so I'd go into the hairpin in 6th. In the end I came 7th, which was still my best result. I still can't work out how I was so fast. Also something cool I just heard over the loudspeaker in game, there's a shout out for Billy Monger, nice touch Codemasters.

Destiny 2 looks amazing on PC, also plays great. Just being able to play at 60fps makes such a big difference compared to 30fps on consoles, plus precision because I'm using M/KB. I was waiting until I could play it before deciding in case it ran crap on PC, but it runs perfectly, for the life of me I can't see why it's not coming out at the same time as consoles, when it's already so polished. Just did a strike mission with two randoms, it was great, I wasn't so great but luckily for me my two partners were awesome :joy:

Alonso must be delighted he's probably almost forgotten what it feels like to score points :p Yea but he got beaten by a rookie, Hamilton and Alonso all over again :joy:
-
Well a long with being quick in the wet during qualifying, I was quick in the race. I got my first points finishing 9th and Alonso came 10th :D

You know if they did add this it would be enough for me to buy a VR headset, because I'm loving this game so much. http://www.pcgamer.com/codemasters-say-adding-vr-to-f1-2017-will-be-difficult/ Btw in Q1 at Spain it was raining, in my McLaren I set the fastest second sector in the session. That shows how good the chassis is, but the lack of power really screws me. At the moment I'm mainly doing reliability upgrades, but I need more power.

Made it to Q2 for the first time in my McLaren at Sochi, was 12th. If I can finish 12th in Q2 I'll be really happy, I was a second faster than Alonso, what a lap.

I don't think you can call a racing game perfect if the qualifying times are simulated and based on what you do. When your qualifying time is miles faster, then after the time ends you are suddenly 10th and then two seconds faster in the race then them, it's not very good. Codemasters did this in 2010, people got really angry about it and then did it properly after, so I have no idea why they've gone back to making it like this. It really ruins the simulation of the game and the enjoyment of qualifying.
-
Be warned, qualifying times are no longer set in real time, like in 2010 they are simulated. @RevolvingPrawn warned me about it earlier, at that point I hadn't noticed it. Then we were racing online, 1-2 by miles and then suddenly I was down to 10th. To put it into perspective, during the race I was 2 seconds faster than the ai each lap, I can't believe Codemasters have done this again, just when I thought the game was perfect.

I'm currently using 85 with Mclaren.

No way I've lost 7th gear during the Bahrain race, it's one of the bits I didn't change as I thought it was ok. I do like this extra authenticity though.

You need to click on the little picture, then paste the code then just push the space bar. If it doesn't show up after doing that you are using the wrong link code, should be called direct link, at least on Imgur it is which is the best btw

No idea if I'm honest with you :joy: I wanted some blue as I do like the colour, originally the yellow was black, but then you couldn't really see the blue next to it. I did think about making it look like the Renault above, but I wanted red. I'm just glad we can change it whenever we want.
-
I have had to change 3 parts of my power unit already just before Bahrain qualifying, so just like real life, it's going to be a long season for me at McLaren :joy: Doesn't look much different to me, must just be your helmet colour. Great picture of the Renault bud, still my favourite livery.
-
Photo mode, how do you do that as I see no option? It's not going to look much different though.

Sounds strange to be celebrating a failure but whatever. :p I've got a couple of upgrades in the works on both the Chassis and Aerodynamics section as that's what the Williams needs most atm. Hopefully neither of them fail but you never know. It was sarcasm ;) After finishing my second race last night, my engine had 60% wear, I lost power during the race, which at China wasn't great. I finished 15th and beat Alonso, I did a one stop race starting on super soft then went to mediums, almost everyone else did two stops using super softs and softs. Woke up this morning with a bad shoulder, either slept on it funny, or it's from using my wheel for most of the day yesterday. I'm still going to start playing again once I've finished my coffee. I still can't get over how detailed the wheel FFB is, for 6 years every F1 game has felt numb and disconnected, now it's just as detailed as RF2. IMO it's a masterpiece.
-
Yay my front wing development has failed, but at least my engine upgrade worked which is what the McLaren really needs.
-
I'll show you my helmet tomorrow mate.... :joy: Btw you have gone for the same design as me, but different colours. I have changed the colour a few times, still not totally happy, but thankfully you can edit it whenever you want. Just about to start my second race, already used 48% of my first internal combustion engine after just one race, practice and qualifying done at the second, I love Honda so much....
-
Cool I didn't know you get invites during the season to race the classic cars. :D
-
It's basically a RPG racing game isn't it :D So far in my first ever lap in the set I'm only a tenth slower than Alsono, pretty happy with that. The new graphics settings totally change the look compared to last season, like ultra plus shadows, SSRT shadows and ASSAO, it really looks amazing. Ah missed out on getting into Q2 by .050. Now to do my first race, if the game wasn't so fun I wouldn't be playing still, as I'm in quite a bit of pain at the moment. It's also raining in the race, but driving in the wet was fun during qualifying. With the FFB being so much better, I can feel what's going on with the car unlike last year. Im definitely going to get engine penalties during the season, good old McLaren Honda lol.
-
Man it's so much fun. They have really nailed the physics, there's more traction from the rears, but when you lose it it's hard to recover like we've seen in real life. Career mode is also much improved, I also like that ai difficulty now uses numbers, so you can tweak it to exactly how you want it. My first qualifying session and it's raining lol.
