Ah I hate days like this! Tried to play F1 for a bit, but my body wouldn't let me :( This condition can be an sob sometimes.... It doesn't help that my doctor took away one of my painkillers, he gave some bull crap reason but I know for sure it's due to the budget changes the Conservatives made. The sooner they get voted out of government the better! I know this because I've talked to others with the same condition who have had the same thing happen. :( In the long run this is bad imo. -
Ah shit just had my first problem with Windows 8.1. First started after F1 14 kept crashing after pressing start when prompted ingame. So I thought I'd restart my PC, but them windows wouldn't start. Then I selected a recovery point, but even that failed! Lol was ready to tear my hair out, but then windows started fine, and so did F1 :o This all has to do with Windows update I think, as I selected updates to download but then changed my mind and cancelled them as I wanted to play F1. That's the only thing I can think of.....
I'll install them later without cancelling them, and hope no problems arise as my PC has been perfect before. I need to update though otherwise there could be security flaws. This is why I don't always update though, as when it's gaming fine I don't want to upset it lol
Anyway it seems to be ok now (I hope) :# -
Na the first one creates problems when it rains, and the other one makes it look dull imo. It's all personal taste though ;)

It only takes around 7 hours to drive over so wouldn't be too bad. Saying that though the longest I've driven is to London, but that took nearly as long due to the traffic lol. I'll be changing back to an automatic car but that might not be until October, although I should be able to get it a few months early. Anyway this is a long way yet. Either way I'd love to go to Spa or Silverstone, but we can decide closer to the time (if we can even go)RevolvingPrawn said:Lol in that case bud it might be better to just get general admission tickets and take our own foldout chairs :p From what I've been reading there's still plenty of good spots even with that ticket, like the Kemmel Straight, Pouhon, and Bus Stop :) -
@RevolvingPrawn Thought we should carry on our discussion here before someone gets mad :p Maybe if I went in a wheelchair they'd have to let you in with me :p although at the moment I flatout refuse to go in one :# -
Great image bud :pRevolvingPrawn said:jordieDAFC said:.
Yea it's still a while off yet isn't it lol. Thing is (and I'll have to check at some point) If I got a disabled ticket you could come as my "carer" and normally the ticket is cheaper lol It's worked at other events with my brother before o:)@Hughesy Depends on the ticket price and whether or not I have a job then :p
Hopefully it'll all be cool, but I couldn't commit to it right now bud.
Anyway sorry for messing up another thread. Many many months yet until next years races.... -
Did you go to the Belgium GP then? Lucky sod :p I'm thinking of driving over from the UK to watch it, but I need to find someone to come with me. Either that or going to Silverstone next year but again I'd need a mate to come with (None of my mates like F1) apart from my brother but his wife won't let him come, maybe @RevolvingPrawn could come o:) -
Yea bud that should be good :) Had to save after 10 laps though as I was too tired, been up for nearly 20 hours (bloody MS) watching Alien 3 now so I'm going to be up for a while yet lol. So far from what I can see the changes you've made are good and didn't take you that long so I'm not sure why Codemasters couldn't tweak it before release. Other than that though it's the best F1 game they've made, really looking forward to the "next gen" version o:)RevolvingPrawn said:Personally I just use the same setup, wet or dry :p If it's 100% rain I might add a click or two of front wing, but anything below I stick with a normal setup in case it dries out :)
Glad it's working for you! I've done about a dozen races since the changes and I'm deffo happier with it. Forgot to mention I also gave the Mercs a bit of a boost too, the game didn't show how much faster they really are I thought.
Thursday good? No work on Friday and it'll make the night go quicker to Friday :p -
Agee with that! Having my brothers baby here for a few hours is enough lol He may look cute and innocent but he's evil I tell ya, he's already head-butted me :#RevolvingPrawn said:Yea and then think about nappy changes, vomit on you, never getting any sleep, toys left strategically in places that will kill you, the teenage years, and always being skint.
I never want children lol. -
@RevolvingPrawn Just about to start my race at China (bloody raining so got to use full wets :s) Bottas qualified 5th so it seems to be working as he was much lower in previous races. I'm starting 1st but if it stays wet I doubt I'll finish 1st.... I forgot to look at the weather for race day and have a dry setup lol should be fun. I've come first every race so far so I'm due a bad race. If I carry on winning Im going to try it on legend. Do you know when you want to start our career? -
Think I've just been awake too long (been up since 4:30am) :( Anyway just stick to a pwm and ignore me, although if you start with a silent fan then they can run at 100% and be ok. -
Edited my post above, think I may be wrong...... :# -
CPU fan ports have never needed pwm fans (or so I thought). If you look at the standard cooler that comes with a Intel i5/i7 they don't use pwm. My Current Noctua cooler is actually pwm but my last one wasn't and that could still speed up or slow down. I might be totally wrong and it might only work on certain motherboards. A standard 3 pin fan can still speed up and slow down as it alters the voltage from 12v downwards whereas a pwm keeps it at 12v. Maybe try a 3 pin fan into the CPU slot and set a target and see if it can or not. I was always sure though that the standard coolers that come with the cpu were 3 pin but I might be wrong (I haven't used one for many years)RevolvingPrawn said:
Right, I'm confused lol. I thought PWM fans were needed for the CPU cooler? Like every one I've used so far has had a 4pin (I think) connector so I figured a 3 pin wouldn't speed up/slow down in sync with temps?Hughesy said:
You don't need pwm for that. On my Mobo bios I can set a target temputure for my CPU and it'll speed up/slow down when needed, the Noctua fans aren't pwm and they work fine ;) You've never needed a pwm fan for the cpu ports, how do you think the crappy standard coolers speed up/slow down? :p it's only the other fan ports that need pwm.RevolvingPrawn said:Mainly cos I wanna be able to stick a PWM fan on there, set the BIOS to control it or even set a curve myself and have it be automatic. With the DS on there I'd have to connect that fan to my controller and constantly adjust it when I'm gaming and I cba to do that :p If they made a PWM version it'd have been my first choice though :)
I'll have another look at some others, but right now I'm thinking plan B will probs be what I do. I loved the Alpenfohn fan and my stepdad doesn't care how loud his system is so that'll be ok.
And which other fan ports need PWM? I'm definitely not sure what I need now :p
Should really talk about this in the PC thread but hay ho.
Edit: It seems I was wrong and Intel cpus come with a pwm fan.... I was sure my old Noctua could speed up and slow down though, even though it was a 3 pin. Better to just buy (like you have) a pwm fan lol. Maybe I'm just getting confused (it doesn't take a lot) although the DS fans are silent anyway so don't need to be PWM :# -

I wouldn't buy a Coolermaster fan either bud :# Why don't you just try one of the DS fans on your cpu cooler? The static pressure is pretty good so should be good to use on a cpu cooler. I still haven't tried them on my Noctua yet mainly because the fans on it are good, it's just the looks lol. -
Big mistake bud! I had three of them and they were awful.... Not that quiet and don't move loads of air.... I would've given you mine, although they aren't pwm but that doesn't make a difference on noise. Hope you like them though as I thought they were rubbish, especially compared to the ones you have.RevolvingPrawn said:
Might be a good idea actually ;)onetwothree said:Think we need a thread solely dedicated to your PC purchases.
Corsair SP120 PWM for my CPU cooler

That's awesome bud! Probably not my sort of music (although I did play trumpet for a classical/jazz band) but remind us closer to the time otherwise I'll forget to watch it. Congratulations ;)PeteTheDuck said:Guys, you may or may not remember but a few months ago I said that my choir got through to the category finals of the Choir of the Year competition.
Well yesterday was that category final for the final 16 groups of the 150+ that entered. There were 4 categories (Adult, Children, Youth, Open) with 4 groups in each and the winner of each category go through to the final, plus two wildcards.
Anyway, our group is a close harmony barbershop group from my school and we were in the Youth Category, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but we won the Youth category, giving us the title of Youth Choir of the Year!! So we're into the grand final which is in Manchester in December, and it's being shown live on BBC 4!
So yeah, absolutely amazing achievement, we're so pleased, and if you want to, tune in and watch it on the TV!! -
It doesn't look anything like the graphics Sky use, all that's changed is the colour which I noticed but that's all that's changed. I haven't got to test your changes yet but I'm about to bud. I hope you haven't changed wear rate too much, as Williams aren't that good with tyres. I'll let you know what I think in a bit.RevolvingPrawn said:The second link wasn't meant to include the car I think... But it does change the pit crews overalls, just not the crew that walk around the garage in shirts. And yea there's a problem with the mirroring on the engine cover, but the rest looks great and if you race cockpit then how often are you gonna see the side? ;)
And yes you are blind lol, the timing at top right and top left is Sky/BBC style graphics instead of light blue CM ones :)
Notice any differences on the database? Forgot to mention I also evened out the tyre wear on a few cars, made the Williams look after it's tyres a bit better and made the Ferrari ever so slightly worse. And there's more but I can't remember it all :p

Finally Lee Clarke has been sacked! B) Hate him. -
Yea I posted there once not long ago and regretted it. You cant have a conversation with people, its impossible!SASBlink said:Yea, I'm starting to notice, off topic is where the fun is. @RevolvingPrawn For some reason I can't get the skin to work for Williams.... Not sure why it won't work as I changed the McLaren one ok
Edit: Ok I now have it working, the first link for Williams doesn't work anymore, and the second doesn't include the car livery bud, just the team but even so that doesn't work for me. I do have the proper livery now though.
Its not great though, as the logos are mirrored so one side is backwards....lol -
I thought I made it for primes as it felt good in practice, but come race day it was awful for primes.... Just about to install some mods and your database changes. Btw that OSD doesn't look any different to me, or am I blind?RevolvingPrawn said:Did you make your setup running option or prime tyres? I usually make mine running on primes till I'm hapoy with it, then switch to options to see the difference.
-
And just as I thought I was going to have an easy win, I didn't....Hughesy said:I can't view the setup at the moment during a race but I'll find it later. Finished work and now trying to force my broken body to play F1 >:) I think doing a full race distance at once was a mistake, as ever since I've felt like crap :( When are we going to start a career together bud?
I do think though that it's me that's making the AI slow at Bahrain, as its one of the few circuits where I can hit every apex lap after lap. I just love the track o:)
i built up a 15 second gap to Hamilton before my final stop but wish I went longer on the option tyre. As soon as I went on the primes I felt like I had no grip. I was a second slower on them than I was on worn options, so Hamilton soon caught me up at the end :# I did win but on just! I'm not sure why but I had no traction with the primes, and suffered with understeer. If I stayed on the options for 5 more laps (which I'm sure I could've as they still had grip) then I would've been ok, as I was pulling away from Lewis.
