No I'm going to try them today bud, but I'm halfway through my career race at Bahrain at the moment so I want go finish that first. Either I'm really fast at this track or the AI are slow. I made a perfect setup (for me) on this track though, normally I look on racedepartment for setups but I've decided to try and make my own this year. There's no point me downloading those cams, as I only use cockpit view and they seem fine to me o:)RevolvingPrawn said:Another good mod @Hughesy Definitely prefer these cams over the standard ones :) http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/f1-2014-cams.3722/
And have you tried out my database file? Any thoughts? I can try to change whatever you think might need it :)
The UK is so far behind when it comes to broadband speed..download a GB in a second!. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/south-korea-preps-10gbps-broadband-1gb-in-8-secs.html -
Agreed, was like that for me last year. :(RevolvingPrawn said:
I'm just letting a little squeeze off the throttle and going through no probs. Sometimes with the right line it's flat no problems. Don't worry about losing time though, seems sector 3 of Melbourne the AI can destroy you no matter what you do.alonsofan46 said:Anyone else really struggling at the last corner of Melbourne ? I just can't get the power down and I'm losing loads of time. -
That's download speed bud, upload speed would be much slower, thus it would be quicker to download them not matter what ;)AMS97KRR said:I have pretty quick internet - 30-50mb depending on time of day. Might get an external hard drive to copy over the Steam Apps folder then, I'd like to keep all my save data :)
The folder is 204 GB :open_mouth:
-
Yea it would take longer to upload it rather than just re-downloading.RevolvingPrawn said:
Yea I should think that'll work. Worth trying to find out :) And unless you have a very fast connection, I wouldn't bother uploading any of them lol. I once uploaded 80GB of files on a 2.5Mb connection... It took 5 days to finish :|AMS97KRR said:Would it even be possible to copy specific folders from the steam apps - common folder onto a usb, then when I re install steam, copy those files into the new steam apps folder? -
Well I don't play online. Also seen pad users saying the get extreme amounts of understeer so swings & roundabouts.... -
I don't have any problem using a wheel.... These cars have a lot more torque compared to last year so you have be careful with the throttle, I think they've got these cars feeling perfect.jordieDAFC said:Apparently game pads are massively OP to wheels.... -
That looks awesome!, only ruined by the Ford badge :p
j/k
Mind you, if Ford made that I'd buy it! You have some serious talent ;) Looking at your blog and there's some awesome stuff on there. I love that little Renault, I'm pretty sure you'll be designing cars for a company at some point. -
Yes I did and everything I wrote applies to that to, even more so as the PS3 cpu is completely alien. Even devs had trouble using it on PS3.SamuelTrautman said:did you read my edit? what about the original ps3 cpu that could run any os? -
Yea I just couldn't really be bothered as I'm extremely tired :(SamuelTrautman said:ok m8, much better response than just no, appreciated
-
Because they weren't designed to run windows..... The OS on the 360 is very barebones and is designed to not take up much processing time as it's designed for games. Even if you could get it to work, it would be much slower than a laptop from 2004. Just because it's the same company doesn't mean it'll work. It would be like you trying to talk to a Chinese person (if you don't know Chinese) you just wouldn't understand each other, you're both human but can't undertand each others language.SamuelTrautman said:ok fair enough. why would the cpu from an xbox not understand Microsoft commands?
-
Not going to make a long post as to why, but it's impossible as it's totally different hardware to what you use in a PC. The cpu alone wouldn't understand any of the commands windows uses to run the OS. Also even if you could (which you can't) even a cheap PC would be faster.SamuelTrautman said:why no? -
No.......SamuelTrautman said:yo you guys seem pretty clued up about this, could I make a gaming pc out of all the hardware from 2 ps3's and 2 xbox 360's -
Oh I see B) | That last part is me with one of those sticks blind people use -
Why does it say it's in reverse gear and going 0mph? LolRevolvingPrawn said:
Same bud. There's already mods for the Lotus and Caterham wheels though so hopefully it'll only be a matter of time till there's one's for all other cars too.jordieDAFC said:The Williams steering wheel frustrates me :L
Could they not have released the Martini livery as DLC? That way the game could be 3+ but the DLC 18+? -
No worries bud, there's no rush ;) Think I'm going to (try) and play some more Alien Isolation in a minute o:)RevolvingPrawn said:@Hughesy I don't know why but I'm having trouble uploading files atm... The database file is all done, but it's not uploading and none of my screenshots will upload to Steam either. Photobucket works for uploads, but that's the only thing that does right now. Once I've got it sorted (or done from my laptop instead) and stick everything up. -
Out of the two I'd get the first one linked as the cpu is much much better than anything AMD make... Not sure how they compare, just look at some reviews and you'll find out ;) -
Yes please bud, as long as it doesn't mess online up o:) We'll have to start our career together soon. I might struggle on legend but I don't mind, maybe it'll push me to be quicker :)RevolvingPrawn said:Hey, I'm improving the game ;)
@Hughesy Just tested some of my changes, the cars and drivers are much closer in terms of performance to how they currently are in the real season. Gonna make a few more changes yet, but once I'm done do you want a copy of the file? Plus I can list the mods I've downloaded from others if you want too, it's just making the game more fun and better looking :) Will post up a few screenshots soon.

Anyone want a code for F1 race stars on Steam? -
Meh I haven't installed updates for months, doesn't affect games so doesn't really bother me o:)Herby007 said:Thing is, I can't really specify when I want them downloading/installing as I'm not on the computer enough to make a schedule work. Like I said, first time I've been on the computer since...late August? I'd just forget about the updates and then 6 months down the line go "oh shit, I haven't installed updates" and be hit with a whole day of hell. Bugger that. -
I don't let Windows install updates on its own as to me thats silly. I'll only install updates when I'm not gaming, but even then I haven't had problems like that. You should always try and find time to do updates, consoles are the same now though as you can have massive updates for the games alone. -
Nope it was at 1440p, and I also checked I had all setting turned up o:) Still atleast it was an easy fix for you. -
My mirrors were already set to what that person changed it to.... Might be a bug some people are having :p Still wouldn't call them high res bud, they still look pretty awful compared to other sims on PC, but they do the job.RevolvingPrawn said:If anybody wants higher resolution mirrors in the PC version: http://steamcommunity.com/app/226580/discussions/0/619568793855458675/ -
Lol BobbyGeeks, I like it :p always happy to help ;)BobbyDeacs said:Thank you guys, I have taken my first step towards a new nickname of BobbyGeeks. Looks like I got you exchanging a few things too re SSD. It probably helps that consoles have such crappy hard drives, as the developers will optimise for it and so the PC versions will cope ridiculously well using the same logic. -
Not getting it for PC then? I'd say it's still worth it, if people were willing to pay that for the last game, then I see no reason not to this time. The racing is much better, I've just had 30 laps of fighting with Hamilton, switching places many times and it was great fun! B)jordieDAFC said:
Yeah the handling does look pretty fun going by videos i've seen. But the handling alone isn't worth £35 :/Hughesy said:
You should, me an @RevolvingPrawn were very sceptical but once we played it, we loved it. The cars feel awesome to drive and it's the best in the series. Yes it doesn't look different but it does feel different thanks to these turbo cars. It's sad so many will miss out becasue it's the best Codemasters have done and will give me my F1 fix until F1 15 B)jordieDAFC said:Was tempted to get it tonight after work...

I do think though that it's me that's making the AI slow at Bahrain, as its one of the few circuits where I can hit every apex lap after lap. I just love the track o:)
