  1. Just a few more hours and we can play F1  :D Sadly as I'm still not feeling great I won't be using my wheel, so tonight will just be a quick mess about using a controller. Tomorrow is when I'll play it properly, and with no work until Tuesday (cheers bank holiday) I have 4 days of uninterrupted F1 play

  2. What was funny about it? When you hate NMS, it's obvious you didn't say it in jest.
I'm sorry if I didn't see the funny side when I was sent home from work with a migraine which made me puke, but there's no need to be rude is there.

Just preloaded F1 17, roll on Friday and then Saturday when I play it with @RevolvingPrawn

  3. That looks great bud. I just never expected my hue lights to support stuff like this, I only got curious after noticing on the box it said it can be linked to music and stuff. It's amazingly responsive as well, it does use like 9% of my CPU, but when you have so much CPU power to spare it's not an issue. It works great with movies as well, but obviously it's limited to 1 colour at a time, but it does amazingly well adding extra ambience to what's going on on-screen. These lights were already worth the high price tag with being able to control them with my voice and what colour I want, so this was an awesome surprise.

Im pretty sure I can setup each light to control a portion of the screen like in your video, but it would be pointless considering they are above my TV rather than behind the screen. That 4K TV I was going to get during the Amazon Prime sale had those kinda lights built in which would have been great to have.

  4. @RevolvingPrawn Oh wow just found out I can sync my Phillips hue lights with games like No Mans Sky B)

Nah this is bloody awesome, how have I only just found it out. That startup screen going through the stars whilst changing colour, my lights change at exactly the same time. I had to use two apps, one for the lights and another to make it seem  like it's in border mode (the app doesn't work with games running in full screen) but actually using fullscreen. I love technology.

  5. I had an interesting drive home from work today. A storm brewed up from nowhere and about 50 yards in front of me a lamppost was struck by lightning. It's not the closest I've been to lightning, when I was a kid my parents house was struck by it, but it's the closest I've been visually to lightning. The flash actually dazzled me, which you don't need whilst driving.

  6. This may not be popular, but No Mans Sky is finally a really good game. If they delayed the game by a year and released it with all the content it now has it would have done a lot better. When it came out I did enjoy it, but as there was no purpose it got old after a while, but now there's so much to do it's great. After the storm they faced im surprised they carried on developing content, but it shows they care, as bigger developers would have let it rot.

  7. All this retro talk, I think Saturday I'm going in my loft and see what old consoles I can find. I wish I looked after my older stuff more, just so I could remember it all. It's why I still have my 360 and also the original fat PS3 which doesn't work as the bluray broke. I did buy the smaller PS3, but it was so ugly compared to the original PS3. I just hope it's not too hot Saturday, as the loft gets so hot in that weather, it will be a fun treasure hunt lol.

  8. Finally figured out to fix my old iPhone 5s. My car doesn't support android phones via a cable, only Bluetooth. Two problems with that, 1: Audio quality isn't as good and also you can't use the cars touchscreen or wheel buttons to change songs. You can only do that via the phone, which you can't do whilst driving. The car has a cable for Apple devices so all that works, but my old iPhone 5s refused to turn on or charge, so for months I thought it was broken. Then I found out if I connect it to my PC, then open iTunes and then press certain button combinations on the phone it resets something. After that the phone started charging and turned on :D So now the phones sole purpose is a glorified iPod.

It's really stupid that VW only support Apple devices via USB when Android has a much bigger market share. For me audio quality was the main issue, some probably wouldn't notice the difference using Bluetooth, but it really pissed me off. Still when I get my new Golf in December it should have more features for Android.

  9. I do wish Sega was still in the hardware business, I loved the Dreamcast after my mate convinced me to buy one. People always say Nintendo will go the same way as Sega, then they bat something out of the park. My Switch has been a life saver during breaks which were painfully boring before I got it.

  10. Bought Sonic Mania today for Nintendo Switch, great game. It's based on the original games but with some twists and overall improvements. It even has a CRT filter you can apply, which actually makes it look better as there's no sharp edges like you get with LCD/IPS screens. It's Sonic back to its best, none of that 3D crap, 3D works with Mario as it's a slow paced game, but Sonic is all about speed so 3D doesn't work imo. It's hilarious seeing Sonic on Nintendo, when you think back to the console wars and how Sega always talked crap about Nintendo
