    Ai should start races a little faster

    I have the exact opposite opinion! Race start is OK if you manage it well but then I have the impression that during the first 5 laps, AI is completely OP and I really struggle to keep my position, even with rich mode and Overtake. Then they slow down to find their normal rythme. I have this on all tracks.

    Definitely wrong from CM if AI use the same setup while 5 preset setups are given to the players but this leads me to another question. Does the AI really race or are the time scripted so they match a difficulty level? It’s totally unrealistic to have such a high wing setups for Monza. We should easily overtake them in the straights, even in highest levels but they are fast, very fast. is the AI affected by setups? And then are they affected by tyre wear? My guess, according to what has been said, is that all this is scripted (speed, wear, ...) and this could explain why they have so many difficulties to overtake, for example.

    I experience 2 first corner accident with Safety cars in Australia and Bahrain in season 3 of my career.

    And this helps getting mid or high speed corners due to the tyre leaning on the track but you can have difficulties taking low speed corners as the contact patch is smaller. All is a compromise in setup, nothing is binary.

    I totally agree. We need a telemetry program while all the data are available in the game. It’s so weird to have a unique setup for AI while they proposed 5 preset setups for the player! They should at least use them according to track and stop discussions about AI difficulty differences between tracks.

    I agree on some points with you. For commercial reasons, CM focused on new features like My Team, gloves, suits, helmets, ... but didn’t innovate on existing things that could be easily more enjoyable (full formation lap, full pit stop like in Project Cars, lap after the final lap and go to podium, a clever Jeff to whom you can ask advices on setup, mechanical failures for players,...). Those little things would make a true racer happy but won’t sell as many games as adding new things. You then finished with a complete game with many unfinished (buggy in case of SC) features.

    Completely agree with you. I also did 100% race in Zandvoort and strategy played an important role, so much more realistic than 25 and even 50% races.

  11. Hi, I would like to ask the mapping of your wheel or controller on this game. I’m on PS4, so this left me with 8 buttons on my wheel (3 are reserved by Sony 🤨). From left to right, I have DRS (and pit limiter), brake bias-, fuel mix-, fuel mix+, brake bias+, menu and 2 central buttons (overtake on the left and radio on the right). Buttons on the left are for decreasing (reminder of shift down) and button on the right are for adding (reminder of shift up). Brake bias and fuel mix have colored buttons just to be easy to remember. DRS and menu are placed at the edge of the wheel since they are the most used and easily accessible. What about yours?

    This kind of video (when you think a SC was needed). First things first. We need to clarify with CM when a SC is needed. IRL, when a car is stopped on a dangerous situation, the SC comes out in order to evacuate the car by marshals. I don’t know if this is implemented in the game, which could explain while so many people have no SC. A lot of mechanical failures but no real incidents. On the other hand, you are right. I’m pretty sure SC come out for no reason and you don’t see any trouble on the track. The SC feature needs a complete revamping following the rules of the FIA (lapped cars, informing in Sector 1 it will be in this lap, ...) and be consistent. But, of course, as you said, CM should care about it and put some effort for fixing this. My personal opinion is that they give all their resources on new features (My Team, gloves, suits, helmets, ...) every year and have nobody to improve or fix existing features (Jeff, mechanical failures for players, SC, ...). All this exist and stay like this for years. It’s pretty commercial you know. Players are more interested in new things to buy a game, rather than having a few advanced players caring about realism and playability. It’s a shame but ...

    Lack of AI mistakes and crashes

    I play at 75% AI and so far 3 crashes in 34 races (3 SC). Crashes are not so frequent you know but generally it’s very difficult to overtake, especially on some circuits. Even with a more powerful engine, you have to prepare your overtake and if their are 2 or 3 cars in front of you, this is even more complicated because they all use DRS and OT button to defend their position. I would say that AI is very conservative with other AI and sometimes they need to take risks, which they don’t do very often.

    Jeff is another example of CM adding new features every year without fixing or improving the existing ones. I use radio voice to ask Jeff things a lot (no HUD or info on my screen) but I hate when he speaks to me deliberately because all is random and without context (rain expected in 15 minutes while in last lap). As you said, Jeff could be a really interesting experience that could be largely improved but no this stays the same for years. it’s more commercial to focus on things that make the game bankable.

    I’ve tried simulation and full. It does not change anything for this issue, except on simulation you have more chance of having severe damages to your wings while AI is rock solid.

    I think this is not a bug and we are all stuck at level 30 for I remember well 10 days yet. CM will then unlock/release new levels at this moment IMO. But what about all the XP we earned for 15 days in my case? If this is the case, this proves how badly things are sometimes implemented by CM (think of the silly transfers of last year). My personal opinion is that this game, like previous years, is not enough (if not not at all on certain aspects like SC) tested.

    This is exactly the situation but as it is, in order to be investigated the issue has to be replicated otherwise CM won’t consider it. That’s why the only way is to post video (with the official bug report) of having/not having SC and why we think there is an issue.

    Safety Car appears for 25%, 50% and 100% race distance.

    Driver Transfers

    You can turn transfers on/off before every season (for the whole season). So you can turn them on at season 1 and turn them off at season 2. If you turn transfers off, you will receive messages about drivers retirements but they won't at the end of the season.

    At which moment do you shift gears? On my 100% career I have a wear of 45/50% after 6 races. I know there is a post about that on the bug section.

    AI no tyre wear at all?

    When playing 100% races, I can notice that there is a difference between medium and soft for AI. Nothing wrong according to me. There are some tracks where the difference between tyre compounds are not so big.

    How can we be astonished that the SC feature is buggy? The worst is that SC has never been tested. A shame.
