Yes, it is. I had 3 SC in 34 races for severe crashes with each time 2 or 3 cars involved and debris on the track. But most of the time there is no serious crash and only mechanical failures and here comes the inconsistency : you either have a SC at every race (sometimes more than once) or the SC will never come out. It’s a kind of all or nothing and be lucky or unlucky because people seeing it at every mechanical failures are complaining too. I propose to everyone to post a video when a mechanical failure occurs and you think a SC was (not) needed. I’m pretty sure that 2 mechanical failures on the same spot will be treated differently (all or nothing) and for me there is something wrong (bug?). Here is an example:

This has been requested many times. Sometimes Jeff is speaking about understeer or oversteer but this is weird since he talks about this without you having problems. We should ask Jeff, a little bit like it is implemented in Project Cars. A dream would be to have Jeff analyzing the data and telling you that your tyres are overheating or the degradation is too high and suggest changes. Would’nt it be nice?

This is a great game, probably the best F1 they release but the SC feature is inconsistent. I’m a professional developer and I can’t imagine they cannot fix through the years although it’s an essential component. They need to tell us when exactly a SC or VSC is needed and when not. Because if you compare to real life, this does not work (coming too often or very rarely). If they fix this, they have a solid base this year to build new features for next years but I agree with you: first fix things before adding new ones. Unfortunately there is a commercial reality.

@BarryBL while we are speaking of SC, I would like to have your opinion about this one. Should the SC come out (or VSC)? My opinion is that the car is in a dangerous position and IRL SC would come out but in the game? I think this is important and could explain why many players are complaining about SC not coming out. 1. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. Running under SC (first position for Bottas Mercedes preceded by a lapped Williams, I'm following Bottas) on lap 43. 1a. When passing the line (0:01 in video) the message telling to "stay behind Bottas" change to "stay behind" and all the names starts to pop up! 1b. At 0:12 in the video, a message saying that vehicle ahead may be passed (The Williams) and you can see that the lapped Williams becomes transparent! So Bottas, the leader passes and me just afterwards. 1c. At 0:20 in the video, a message saying that Bottas is ceiding position (??) and I can pass Bottas, what I did not do and stay 2nd. Seriously CM! What is this? I even don't speak about the likeliness of having a SC (either too often or never) but the SC feature needs a good fixes and a whole patch! To be complete (this is not on the video), I finished first because Bottas received a 5 seconds penalty for not respecting yellow flag on lap 43 and not having served his penalty (I did not know he has a penalty either and believed I finished 2nd). You should also know that a restart, I had a little incident with the Williams trying to overtake Bottas (Remember the Williams is a lapped car). Please investigate and come out with a SC working (bugged since years) or removed this feature like you did some years ago. Great game with marvelous handling but the SC is a game breaker. Thanks @BarryBL for your help. 1. Not sure about that but Bottas was about to lap Russel and was just behind when SC was called. But indeed on a 2 stop strat for almost everyone, I pitted 2 laps before. So it is possible that Russel was coming out of the pits at this moment. 2. You’re right Hamilton, Vettel, Ocon and Kyvat were out of the race. 3. The SC came out on lap 43/56 when Ocon span trying to overtake me at turn 13. 4. I was at turn 14 when SC came out and I rejoin Russel and Bottas under SC at turn 6. The incident in video happened just 1 lap under SC. 5. No. I had 3 SC so far but maybe without a lapped car between leader and SC. Your guess is maybe right. When the SC came out and the leader is about to come close to a car that is going to be a lap down but not yet overtaken. Normally in this situation, SC should have let Russel overtake and came just in front of Bottas but I did not verify in the replay unfortunately. Agree with you. Even more complicated to reproduce with a car almost lapped. Now what about the message saying that I can overtake the leader conceding his first place?

Thank you @BarryBL for your work. I’m of course at your disposal if you want more information. i agree with you, it’s very difficult to replicate since each situation is different. Here we face a problem with a car (Williams) almost being lapped by the leader (Bottas). IRL, Russel should have been allowed probably to overtake the SC, but as far as I know in the game, this is not implemented. So maybe this is why Russel became transparent. What is wrong is that after Bottas (leader) and I have overtaken Russel, I could overtake the leader on SC period. I had this message just 2 or 3 seconds and I even did not notice it during the race. I saw it in the video afterwards. This is not in the video, but at restart Russel had a fight with me and Bottas. Strange. Anyway, thanks for your collaboration.

Thanks PJ for this great and complete video but the SC has several glitches and inconstancies that needs to be looked into.

For your information, Bottas received a penalty for overtaking Russel.

Seriously? have you read my post and watch the video? is it normal to have all the names popping up at the start finish line? Is it normal to have a lapped car becoming transparent? Is it normal to have the leader overtaking a lapped car during a SC period? (Lapped cars could be allowed to overtake SC)? Is it normal to have the leader ceiding his first place during SC? Is it normal to have a lapped car fighting with the leaders at restart? seriously? If you don’t see where the problem is, maybe you’d should look F1 more often.

I got 3 departments affected on season 1, not a single one in season 2, so pretty randomized.

Honestly I don’t think transparency would be a solution. The halo in 2D is just weird and without a 3D view or VR almost impossible to drive. I don’t want to see the car in front of me through a transparent column.

Carcass temp is more important because more stable. Surface temp is less versatile.

That’s right. It’s random but the likeliness of having rain is maybe too high. A nice addition would be to let the user decide like in GP mode where you can choose your practice, qualifications and race length individually as well as weather (and even time of the day). Maybe also it would be nice to have a feature that is based on the real weather at this time.

As I said mainly 3 factors. In assist, braking assist help since you are not locking up your tires and TC too because there is no spin wheel.
