Let's not forget Esports with a Tcam Which is just as realistic as me winning the lottery𤣠just can't bear to watch it when they do it like that. Like I always say, a driver sits in the COCKPIT, not on his Halo. So when you want official Esports, make it as official and realistic as possible, and make cockpit cam mandatory, I'll bet most of the laptimes plummet by 1 to 2 seconds. however it would be funny as hell to see actual f1 races with the drivers sitting on their Haloš¤£

It's not only engine overheating, when trailing within 1,5 seconds for a while, you also overheat the front tyres, thus wear is much bigger, grip will be less and risk of blistering within the tyres. most manufacturers have worked on the engine cooling for 2020 so that would be a lesser problem than the tyres overheating. as in every season the tyres will decide the championship for 80%. Who can manage them best. it's not for nothing that Mercedes already is mandated to remove the extra cooling duct on the rear suspension because it's not within the allowed height of where cooling ducts are allowed. They had one built in the rear suspension arm to cool the rear tyres. Because of the increased downforce this year I expect that the tyres are beeing seriously loaded, especially in race trim with full tanks. More weight equals higher temps, higher load, thus more wear. since these are the same tyres as last year, expect teams to have problems in the first races where temperatures are high.

@Hoo, it is 1 of my annoying points too look at, and still never mentioned it. in UDP you name Nico Hulkenberg as Nico HulkenbUrg

2018 was better than 2017 because the rules stayed also quite stable and they got maximum return on aero from the cars. this year is the same. F1 tried to negate the dirty air last year with the front wing rules and stuff, yet still are the 2020 cars the fastest we will ever see them since 2021 is less downforce and more ground effect based. based on drivers reactions to the wintertesting and the times they were pulling out, we'll be in for a laprecord breaking season. If it ever starts that is.... but when you come to think of it, V12 era, V10 era, V8 Era, i've seen and heard them all in real life. now they drive with a 1.6!!! Litre V6 turbo engine with ERS, and put out more than 1000 BHP. In my time having a 1.6 engine with 100 bhp was already bad ass. 1000+ bhp out of an 1.6 engine, completely bonkers.

F1 2020 changes and the way online lobbies need serious changes.

No I'm sorry @BarryBL, wish I did. I haven't set my ps4 to record clips all the time. And since this is the first time it happened to me i wasn't aware of it to push the share button. -

Next piece of input @BarryBL and @1512marcel. just racing in unranked lobby, safetycar comes out, i'm leading and Hamilton (AI) is behind me, and goes completely bonkers. (Damage was simulation). And I mean totally bonkers! Sideswiping me, overtaking me, rear ending me, and causing me to need a new front wing and mr hamilton himself has no damage whatsoever. So Ai behaviour? I don't see the i in this. Because you can call it what you want, but intelligence is not the correct term. second: when you lap Ai cars online which are ghosting, why do they just keep race speed, and stay on the ideal line? Ghosting is fine, but when I'm overtaking, and the Ai is just not moving and also taking the ideal line, it's confusing as hell, because they move everywhere, don't make room from the racing line, and the transparancy isn't clear enough to make not confusing. blue flags are blue flags, move from the raceline wether you're ghosting or not. Ai in online lobbies is absolutely driving me and a lot more people nuts. -
[PS4PRO] Horrendous framerate online lobbies video included
AlexTT posted a topic in Technical Assistance
1. Framerate drops to unplayable rate in online lobbies, running 4k Qled TV 120Hz, HDR, PS PRO, and 250Mbits connection with 8ms ping 2. 1.22 3. Online lobby 4. Are you able to recreate the issue? Just go online and "enjoy" 5. How often do you see this problem? A LOT! But now made a video of it. 6. Have you tried any troubleshooting? Yes, cleared cache and all stuff. 7. Any accessories you are using: wheel 8. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. don't mind my driving style here was focussed on capturing the framerate, nor the picture quality because of HDR, but be amazed at how the framerate is just.... not there.... This is just unacceptable, with the connections nowadays, the quality of systems and tv's, things as extreme as this may never happen. Especially because its not only on 1 part of the track, S1, the final chicane, it's a joke. You start missing braking points because of it. -
F1 2017 euhm 2019! sorry both the same. Same errors, same stupid AI in multiplayer, and so on. Graphics are abysmal, 4K and can see pixels everywhere in the cockpit. so both of them.

you can make different sorts of "grades" on why someone gets kicked from a lobby. let's say the race starts and in the first 2 laps there are 2 guys destroying everyone left and right and using other cars to brake. The moment that happens the people who are affected by this can make a notification to lobby host with a comment about this behaviour. If there's a minimum of 10% of players in a lobby complaining, the host can pause the lobby and kick these players out. This way people don't lose 20 laps because most mayhem is always at the start. when a host kicks a player, they must ALWAYS enter a reason, which differ in severity from 1 to 5 from 1 beeing simple and 5 severest. So anyone who takes out half the field in half a lap gets 5 which is called for instance "dirty driver" every kick gets logged by CM to control if the reason people get kicked are legit (how often does it happen with what level of severance) and can take adequate actions accordingly. This also means that lobby hosts who kick players that shouldn't be kicked for whatever reasons, can also get restricted from hosting lobbies. this way you keep it fair, and not just the dirty drivers are beeing monitored but also the hosts who abuse their power for the wrong reasons, when someone is too fast or good. -
Use assists like TC and/or ABS? no ********, just curious to why you would use assists on a wheel? i just can't see the appeal of it, winning on a wheel while you almost have to do nothing but steer and push pedals without any finesse or feeling. can't imagine if a win is just as satisfactoring as doing without. when you have a wheel, you should be challenged by the game and yourself to master the physics, to overcome spinning and blocking wheels on braking. You bought a wheel for a reason, and i don't guess it's just for an easy win. You bought a wheel to experience that sensation. But in the meanwhile, while taking the easy way out, you're killing all that sensation by using assists. You threw away money and some sort of selfrespect by using assists. any moron can zit in a cockpit, push pedals flatout without any feeling, without any finesse, and just stupidly push them down, not even knowing what would happen if you did that without assists (or even in a road car) and steer a little. you could have saved a lot of money because with assists on a wheel, you'd better could have sticked with controller. Try to drive your own car like your sim rig with assists. Only full throttle and full brake. Why can you do it on the roadcar like it should, but not in a sim?

Just trying to understand WHY. Didn't know you'd be offended𤣠OMG what a really mature reaction. And your final sentence, well that says it allš

That's what I said about using the knowledge from SMS to improve graphics looking at the graphical quality of what they produce. when in cockpit, even in 4K HDR, colour graduation is not even, it's just pixels. What's the use of having 4K when the developper itself designs something that looks like PS3 design.

Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel F1Ā Esports XBOX
AlexTT replied to HamishOK's topic in Technical Assistance
CORRECTION! is it this one? Then look on the page below: Platforms Xbox OneĀ®: This steering wheel is not compatible to Xbox One. PC and other Platforms: The specifications of the compatible wheel bases will remain unchanged. https://fanatec.com/eu-en/steering-wheels/clubsport-steering-wheel-f1-esports there is an alternative however, called the formula V2 i think? -
Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel F1Ā Esports XBOX
AlexTT replied to HamishOK's topic in Technical Assistance
Wheel is universal exchangeable. Just like thrustmaster. If I'm not mistaking there are even xbox button caps included with the wheel. as long as you have an xbox compatible wheelbase, you are fine. just a reminder that some functionality may be different on xbox and ps4. -
Wow this had to be in development for at least 10 years!š±
-
Oh no it's nothing like that, i think the input here is actually good quality. It's not about that difference, it's about how to get the steering and FFB SPOT ON. The replies have nothing to do with wishlists, I see people sharing ideas on how to improve the whole system.
-
A RACING game is supposed to be about driving a car right? So the core focus should be dialed in for wheel users, and then build the pad/keyboard system around that. Not the other way around. That way you can balance the differences way better without compromising wheel. if they want esports to get big, wheel needs to be main focus. And by that i concurr with OP, FFB must be improved by a mile. Imo built from the ground up with the knowledge of SMS and not an areogance like "we'll do it ourselfs" because we all know how that ends up right? if you have the knowledge, USE IT! same for graphics, i run cockpit, the PIXELS are horrendous. Colour doesn't gradually transfer, it's blocks everywhere. Sorry but for something with 10 car designs, 21 tracks and the rest, this is a joke for a ps4 (pro) and xbox (x) user. It looks cheap, quickly done, and without any respect for the cars nor the players. *kuch* BUMP SUZUKA LAST CORNER FOR YEARS *kuch*

Thnx @1512marcel -
@1512marcel here my take on online lobbies, also quite comprehensive.
-
@1512marcel, after tons of posts, comprehensive or not, (I made some posts that are really comprehensive, seen the one about the online lobbies I made?) and never any response, it's sort of human to get frustrated. The FFB is simply horrendous, no feedback whatsoever, and this is going on for years, after every patch the FFB is terrible. and when you're trying to make someone aware of it at codemasters, in any way possible, like post here, Private message, email, faxing, smoke signals, hell I even sent pigeons! But no response and patch after patch it gets worse. Yeah no wonder people start to react in such a way. especially if you see that Lee Doesn'tmatter guy on streams "WE HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO OUR PLAYERS, 2 YEARS IN DEVELOPMENT (which was a blatant copy of 2017 with exact the same issues), blablablablaaaaa, I really have to watch not to throw up. That's what happens with me when people have the guts to lie to everyone on camera with a smile on their face.
-
Bruh.... i feel you, I really do. I love your feedback and how detailed you are. BUT!!!! sadly, these things are said against ignorant designers, who don't want to hear the FFB is terrible, sound sucks, and HUD is ****. We are posting these things for years, but no improvement. sorry for their ignorance.
