    Career issues...

I'm towards the end of my 4th season (full length races) and I have some issues that are becoming frustrating to the point that I'm losing interest in the game; 1. Never had a SC... and this is despite some huge first lap shunts with several cars coming into contact and spinning off, but they just get going again and don't trigger a SC. 2. Never had a VSC... despite AI cars retiring... all I get is a yellow flag zone and an AI car smoking on the side of the track - even in a dangerous spot, there is no VSC. 3. No Ai alternative strategies, no cars in the top 10 qualifying on Medium instead of Soft or whatever, ever... so if I do it, it's basically an unfair advantage. I think there were some before some of the patches but there definitely have been none in the past few months. Big piece of simulated F1 racing missing right there... 4. Hamilton and Vettel have joined Torro Rosso in season 2 which is now the fastest car by miles. That's ok but I'm doing all the practice sessions on a lower difficulty level to bag loads of points and I'm still not catching them in car development (I have a McLaren)... also the practice sessions are tedious, I've done THOUSANDS of laps on each track over the years, what do I need to "acclimatise for" seriously. There should be an auto development mode because all the practice stuff, per race, is taking an hour and I just don't have the desire, it feels like a chore, rather than something to enjoy. 5. On the podium ceremony, commentator continually refers to Torro Rosso as the team that gives "young drivers a chance" despite Hamilton and Vettel driving for them. 6. Cannot see my teammates telemetry / set up or copy set up. This should be possible, especially the set up if he's quicker as would be the case within most F1 teams IRL. As it's possible to see and copy TT setups, this should easily be possible in Career I would think. 7. Looks like whoever I chose as a rival suddenly gets loads better, so it's all a bit contrived. Obviously if I'm 3rd in the championship the top 2 drivers are my real rivals, but choosing one of them is akin to raising the difficulty level, they just go to another level. 8. Is there a way to turn off the whole "career pantomime"... I've had enough of the tediously repetitive questions, monumentally obvious answers and slatings after one bad race despite being in the championship fight with the 3rd fastest car and 70 points ahead of my teammate!!! I'm thinking that most of the above issues will be fixed by just doing a "season" rather than a career. Can anyone confirm if the SC/VSC and alternative strategy issues would be resolved? Also what is the ranking of the cars in a non career season and are they the same each season? Cheers. R

    Safety car

Is there a way to get the SC/VSC happening, cos I'm not seeing it, ever. I don't want to start a new career cos I'm in season 4... but I have the latest patch and SC on... what else is there to try???
  3. What are you talking about you complete loon, I've just read the original post, which is not yours and it's not about online.

The most boring track on f1?

Most boring - Baku, there is not a single drivers corner on that track its all just point and squirt and a load of it painfully slow. Hardest - For me, by far, Paul Richard. Keeping the same difficulty rating throughout a season, I'm nowhere there. It's only benefit is that its tactically smart to take a new engine and components there. Most fun - Silverstone... consistently have good races there, I think its because there is a kind of fast half and slower half of the lap so me v Ai have obvious strengths and weaknesses (I try to run with as little DF as possible at Silverstone and fly on the straights and wing it through copse, beckets and stowe). Easiest - Austria, I'm mega there, for some reason.
  5. I was complaining about the performance of the cars initially - 2 or 3 seconds a lap slower than 2018. However I'm now in my 4th season of career with McLaren, developing the car continually, I'm now up with RL qualifying times (pole) at quite a few tracks so I'm finding more than a second per lap development gain season on season. The trouble now is that the Torro Rosso is the fastest car in my career and they are sometimes a second quicker than me, more than a second quicker than RL pole times. And this is still season 4 and on 95% difficulty so god knows what pace the best car, max developed can get to in season 10 on 110% level. It's gonna be warp speed...

    Why F1 2019 career sucks

I think a lot of peoples misery would be helped if they played in Championship mode rather than Career mode. Just sayin'.

AI Difficulty Settings, Track to Track

I'm finding China, Baku and especially France to be by far the hardest to be competitive, I went from qualifying 2nd in Canada to 20th in France (Ai 98, season 2).

Career Mode - Lack of Racing Incidents

I'm up to Silverstone in Season 2 and yet to see a SC or VSC, so this is quite blatantly pathetic! I saw a massive shunt in my rear view mirror during the first lap in Canada which took about 5 cars out, bouncing off the walls at the turn 3/4... if that's doesn't trigger it, dunno what will. Amazingly in the Race Director page, no DNF's for that shunt! I have full damage and SC on so I guess the probability is just set way too low.

Career Mode - Lack of Racing Incidents

I've nearly completed 1 season and I'm yet to see a SC or a VSC phase. nearly every race one AI car pulls off with a mechanical issue and after a yellow flag for one lap it's gone, excitement over. I guess I could try to cause a pile up that might bring out the SC, but that would defeat the object...!
  10. I bought the Prost/Senna version on PS4 store and I am struggling to understand what "extra" I've got. The loading screen looks just like the normal Hamilton/Vettel UK packaging. I seem to have given my profile driver a Senna helmet and Prost overalls - the later pointless in career mode... and I've not seen either of their cars yet, or any Senna/Prost challenges or anything. Guess I've just wasted money on next to nothing?

2019 lap times v previous years

OK the 1.5 patch has definitely helped. I need to go and set TT times again but on career it looks to be worth a couple of seconds per lap. If I can get within 1 sec of RL I'll be happy. Spain and one or two others might remain a challenge!
  12. I'm not convinced the F12019 cars are as quick as they should be... anyone else have this feeling??? I didn't have the 2018 game but here are some comparable times: Australia My best TT time F12017 1.22.748 -------- Actual pole time 1.22.188 My best TT time F12019 1.23.671 -------- Actual pole time 1.20.486 Bahrain My best TT time F12017 1.29.262 -------- Actual pole time 1.28.769 My best TT time F12019 1.30.196 -------- Actual pole time 1.27.886 Spain My best TT time F12017 1.19.695 -------- Actual pole time 1.19.141 My best TT time F12019 1.20.927 -------- Actual pole time 1.15.506 Monaco My best TT time F12017 1.12.054 -------- Actual pole time 1.12.178 My best TT time F12019 1.12.287 -------- Actual pole time 1.10.240 So, I'm not the world's fastest sim driver by any means, but I'm pretty respectable, top 1/3 on the leaderboards. Now, allowing for the fact I haven't had the F12019 long, I can probably find 1 sec per lap per track, but I have done thousands of laps on codemasters games over the years so am pretty familiar and I am convinced the F12019 cars are clearly too slow compared to the F12017 cars and present day RL times. The pace of the F12019 car in Spain is ridiculously slow compared to RL. These cars have got another 100hp compared to 2017 and I'm just not feeling that, especially at the top end in 6th 7th and 8th gears they're guttless, like I've lost 100hp. And as for downforce, these cars don't seem to be as quick through fast corners, definitely not as quick through T1/2 or Campsa... which is the opposite to what should be true, since they widened the wings in 2018. Ok they simplified the front wings for this year but telemetry doesn't lie, they ARE quicker in fast corners in RL and as for overall laptime, pole this year was a 15.5... I'm now over 5 seconds off where I used to be 0.5 off. I could give you all my times for every track and the picture is crystal clear. I think these cars need another 10% hp and more high speed downforce compared to RL. Anyone else agree?

Race starts SLOW compared to A.I

Anyone want to explain a good launch technique?

2019 lap times v previous years

This is my point, A 1.19 for Spain is nowhere near the 1.15 Bottas did in qualifying this year. I don't know how to explain this any clearer; regardless of talking my best times or the leading leaderboard times or the AI times into consideration, the picture is exactly the same... in previous years they've managed to get the ultimate pace of the cars pretty damn accurate against RL times, but for F12019 they've dropped the ball and are considerably off. Another poster has offered a logical explanation for this which is that in RL they expected the new regulations to make the cars slower this year but that hasn't transpired to be the case and so there will be a performance patch for the game coming which will bring the ultimate speeds more inline with RL. Hope they do because it's pretty underwhelming driving a 2019 spec car with 2016 pace!

2019 lap times v previous years

Let me explain. F1 changes regulations from time to time and cars and engines develop more performance as you probably know . The current 2019 cars are amongst the fastest monsters there have ever been in F1. WAY faster than 2016 cars for example, SIX AND A HALF SECONDS to be precise (in Spain). I was really looking forwards to getting my hands on the 2019 game for the extra power and downforce they now produce (these are telemetry facts). The best times I was able to do in F12015, 16 and 18 were all within 1 second of the RL pole times. In F12019 I am between 3 and 5 seconds away. Clearly F12019 is less accurate/realistic than previous years. Can you not appreciate that is disappointing to have purchased the latest game only to discover the car performance is worse than it was 2 years ago yet the cars RL cars have evolved through regulation changes and development and are now much faster? Let's not overcomplicate the arguement. These cars are slower than they should be. They've got it pretty much spot on before so they've dropped a bollock.

    Problem with my car speed

I use a Trustmaster F150 and on a few occasions I've lost acceleration compared to other cars. This usually happens after a couple of hours. So I shut down and restart my PS4 and it's all good again. Guess my wheel is dying on me...
  17. Yawn. Perhaps it's so realistic that some people think its real... 99% of the bugs reported are phantom, misunderstood or grossly exaggerated by the resident bug hunters. Same broken record every year.
