I don't know where else to turn. I've tried Sony's customer service, and they keep telling me to wait 24 hours and try again.
I pre-ordered F1 2020 for the PS4 from the PlayStation Store (US) a couple of days before release if memory serves. Normally, when I buy a digital copy of a game from the PS Store and receive the electronic receipt, I save those. I can't find my receipt, which leads me to believe I never got one. The service tech says I have the license for the game, so I own it according to their system, and I have no issues playing the game and connecting to the F1 servers. However, when I look at the store, I can buy it again, even though every other game I've purchased from the PlayStation store doesn't give me that option.
I'm trying to buy some more PitCoins to use with the Season 2 Podium Pass. When I try to purchase the DLC, I get error WS-43699-1. The PS tech says that translates to, "Security measures have been taken to protect your account and are preventing you from making purchases at this time." After he said that, I tried purchasing some DLC for another game; no issue. So, the security issue seems to be with this game and/or it's DLC.
Now, when I look at the F1 2020 stuff on the PlayStation Store, the DLC is all listed for the Deluxe Shumacher Edition; I didn't want that, so I ordered the 70 Edition (which was DLC that downloaded with the "base" game). Also, the store shows the release date of F1 2020 as September 1, 2020 (which doesn't make any sense to me); the Deluxe Shumacher Edition is shown as July 6, 2020. When I look at the game page for F1 2020 on the PS Store's website, it doesn't show any DLC available for it; when I look at the Deluxe Shumacher Edition page on the site, it shows DLC available for it.
I am convinced there is something going on with the way the game and DLC are handled by the PS Store (at least in the US), but their tech has said that there is no one there who can do anything about it. It's probably a huge ask, but can someone from Codies do something?
