It's probably something to do with slipstreaming when you get close to a car that's in front of you the car in front pulls you along faster you've probably heard of this watching motorsport but that's how a lo0t of overtakes happen. Not driven the Formula A cars yet as I haven't really played the game much recently. But this is mostly because I've been busy with other things I still plan on continuing my career though just not sure when right now

    I can almost surely say thats not the case. When I say passing it doesnt mean from directly behind them. For example i can be pretty far behind and off to either side and still be able to hit 267mph. Heck I can make the second turn with someone within range but to far for a slipstream at 230mph but when im in the lead i can only reach 220mph in the turn.

So I've been playing on the Autosport Raceway Oval Circuit lately and I've noticed once you pass all the opponents you cant go past ~250mph, but if you are passing people iv'e been able to hit atleast 267mph. This is even the case if the other drivers are more than about 500 feet in front of me. Can anyone help me understand why that is?
