  1. Hi all! I am building a hotseat tournament organiser for my own use. I might release it to the public if it turns out good. I use it to track players times when playing at my home with my rig. I can make a tournament, add stages, players and cars. Then it tracks the time difference between players through the stages. Of course it does not record times automatically but I try to make it as fast and easy as possible to insert them. I can also view recorded times by car, car class and by stage. I made the system to support multiple games, but for now it has Dirt Rally 2 cars and stages ready. I insert split times, and the system calculates the final time from those. But apparently the split times added together do not add up to the final time? The final time seems to be off by couple fractions of a second. Is it supposed to be that way? Are they supposed to add up? Thanks!

Thank you for your responses. I will propably implement the final time as a seperate field, because it is the time that matters. It cannot be processed from split times until something is fixed or changed. I will keep this thread posted if this goes somewhere.

Yep, me too. Using ANY tipe of login, to be honest... I know this is not the Forum Login Suppor thread, but I had problems with login too for some time, until I realised where I should click after I log in. Here is a screenshot. I just kept clicking the "Sign in" button.

Is Your Stage completely gone then? I hope not. I hope it will be included aswell as an addition to the hand crafted stages.

There hasn't been any updates on Dirt 4 Steam page (https://steamdb.info/app/421020/depots/). Not even on the dev branch so I doubt it will be a Dirt 4 update.

I tried these patterns on a game of life board (https://bitstorm.org/gameoflife/), but did not find anything useful.

https://www.dirt4game.com/ is giving the 500 error. Maybe some updates are happening? :o Edit. Ok, site seems to be back up, and I do not see anything different. Maybe something happened under the hood? We can always speculate!

I still think YourStage is definately the right direction. Don't go back to just replicate stages from real life. The locations are iconic, not all the stages and not knowing the stage is part of rallying. CM should instead refine YourStage to a point, where you don't feel so much as of now, that you drive a generated stage. Maybe they should go more procedural and away from the "Tiles" concept. Just starting with a location, without any roads and lay in the roads completely dynamic. Yourstage can alreay vary in height, same tiles can be level, uphill or downhill, just how the stage needs it. So you could start with much smaller pieces of surface, like 1m of road and mold them together dynamically up and down. Once the road is laid into the environment, a second generation process could start to create the roadside. Dynamically placing fences, houses, puddles, spectators, guardrails, significant trees, bushes, logpiles, trucks, cars, etc.   It already does this at some places, but the size of the tiles is to big, so they feel repetitive. Right now it's probably easier for the algorithm to find a road as it has a subset of tiles that all fit together in a believable way and can just pick one at random.  If much smaller roadpieces all fit together, they can no longer be put together randomly, as it would end up in a super-messy spaghetti-road, so refining such a believable road-construction-algorithm is probably the difficult part here I also like YourStage and hope they will develop it further in the future. I think the current tile system works really well, if I think it this way: Rally drivers have driven the real stages multiple times during the years. Stages do change, but there are familiar corners and parts to them from the past years. So when I see a familiar part in YourStage stage I think that also real rally drivers do know some parts of the stage, but cannot remember the whole stage.

If Your Stage generates almost unlimited number of stages, just keep pressing that "Regenerate" button. The real life stages will come...

Can't give you a straight answer but I'm pretty sure the percentage system is gone. You will probably have to change parts or try to "quickfix" them with the risk of later failure. This is speculation upon whats been said and seen. I guess @Hatward can answer you if he feel like it ;) It's quick fix, repair or replace. Not all parts can be replaced. The level of repair will determine the likelihood of that part failing later on. The time taken will depend on your crew.  Part durability translates into our used car market, so you can choose to buy a **** box that needs all its parts replacing or a totally rebuilt car ready to race (if you can find one).  Now THIS is pure gold ladies and gentlemen! Sounds epic! I feel kinda bad for asking too many questions as you have better things to do, but have anything been done to gear changes? Some were way too slow in DR. H-shift with clutch was by far the fastest in many cars. I'd love to be able to shift as fast without clutch on cars with dogboxes. I quite like this slowness, so there is a reason to play with the shifter.

Yea. Human nature I guess ;) I'm just gonna start calling it "Dirt Floor".... all this arcade mode talk and combined leaderboard crap says to me they just want money, amd only listened to the community as much as they had to. Looks like back to the arcade for CM. Yeah, I bet they have had all the professional Rally Drivers there to improve the "arcade" feel of the game. edit ...hope not...

Im excited, but have mixed feelings... :( I would assume that's a mistranslation from Google, and it means launch as in being presented. Otherwise SQUEEEEEE! Well "Slippes idag" is pretty much "releases today". It's a motorsport newspaper so they might be wrong, but it does kind of sound like today. Might be that they release the information today though, so stall the hype train just a whee bit.
